When and how did you discover isketch ?
I first discovered isketch when I found my eldest son playing it about 2 1/2 years ago. He was sat at the pc desk so I watched for a while, it was his turn to draw, he drew a camel, wow I thought I want a go, whilst waiting for his next turn to draw my son gave me the mouse, and he told he the basic rules and what the game was about. I was fascinated by the game, so much so, I hovered the mouse over the yellow triangle, pressed it and said "what is that for"
I didn't play it again for a few months, by this time my son had left isketch ( he belongs to alot of other game sites). So that's my story, please tell us yours. edit: to whomever the person I warned that night i am so sorry. dear feed back jewels isn't a bad person, nor does she normally vote abuse. |

Great thread jewles hun :)
Well my friend showed me iSketch about a year ago. I stopped by her house to drop off some old books and she was playing when I heard all the little sounds. Loved the hug emoticon the most. So I watched her and was there for a great while hugging random people before I went home to play myself. :) I don't think she plays anymore but I do :P

Nice thread, jewels :) And nice story, hehe!
It was me.. I won't forgive you. I'm going to hold it against you for the rest of your life! Muahaha. (joking. it wasn't me, people :P) I joined a year ago now (*happy anniversary to meee*). Though it does seem like much longer. I'm sure I've stated it elsewhere on another thread, so sorry to bore you lot, but I discovered it when I was playing another sketchy game called 'Sketchorama'. Someone came on (while isketch was up and down quite a bit), saying that, "isketch is sooooooo much better than this game!". Couldn't log on straight away (which is why that person was on sketchorama). A few days later, I checked out isketch.. and look.. I'm still there |

I have been reading the website 'I am Bored' for ages now. There was once a link there to inklink. On the same link, someone had said iSketch was better, but I ignored that (although it comes in again later).
I played it, and really liked it. I was playing for ages and actually made some nice friends there. I kept hearing them say things like 'oh, shame iSketch is down, it's so much better' so I asked what it was. They told me it was similar so I tried it out. I made my username (Vik80) and my little profile, and then I was off... in an easy room... where two people started picking on me really badly, nothing like I have seen since then on this game. They saw in my profile where I live and called me a Nazi (ok, so the word gets bandied around freely in some circles, but here it is just the worst insult, and I have become very sensitive to it) and a lesbian (which I didn't really care about - it was the nasty force of meaning behind it) and all sorts, and just made the whole thing horrible. I fled back to inklink with my tail between my legs, and happily played there for a while longer, until it began to get emptier and emptier. It seemed that everyone had come to play that other game (were they crazy? I wondered... what a horrible place!). In the end, I couldn't remember the link back here, so I checked back on the inklink thread on I am Bored and found it. And that's that. Took me a while to find some nice people, but find them I did and now you're stuck with me, HA! I remember having no idea how anything worked here, and I couldn't tell if I had to draw or not, or even where to look for the word I had to draw! Thinking about it, nothing's changed there... When I lost my newbie dot, I had to ask what happened as a long message came up on screen, but was quickly lost in the chatter, and a nice reg (posts here) explained it to me, and was nice to me - the first person who really was.

I found isketch via the I am Bored website about 4 years ago. I logged on as kermit22 and was hooked. Hubby constantly asked me when I was I was going to "get" off his computer and were we going to eat ever again. Luckily I was still feeding my 6 mth old son myself so I became expert in feeding and sketching at the same time, lol

I first found iSketch around May 2004. I was a member of the C4 Community and they had a Games thread there. iSketch came up 9.5/10 so I just had to have a look as rarely games reached that high. I was also just fed up with the community type boards and wanted something a little more interactive.
How pleased I was that I clicked that link! I didn't quite grasp the concept for the first couple of games, but I have never looked back.

I discovered iSketch about 3 or 4 years ago when a friend of mine sent me a link to "the 100 greatest online games". I looked through them and the description of iSketch sounded quite fun so I went to play it. At that time I only played a few games a week, just a tad less than the present day me. After a while I drifted away from iSketch, visiting it every few months or so if I got bored.
Then I came back at some point some months ago (somehow I have absolutely no idea when I rejoined exactly). I'd like to thank iSketch for giving me the ability to type without looking, which I had never quite mastered before Edit: I think it was around January 2007 I rejoined. i saw my sister playing it seven years ago. i remember, because i went into some room and someone asked for my age. i was 8, and i told them that. they called me a liar, because my profile said 13.. that was because my sister had been playing on the same computer, and we ended up having to share a profile. she stopped. i did too for a really long while, but i'm back, seven years since i first experienced the game.
funnily enough, when i came back, i was still considered an Animals Easy regular. hah. |

Awww, jewels, I love your wee story! How cute
Heh. This was so long ago...back in Aug. 2004, I believe. I have no idea how i discovered it. Probably on MSN Chat (back when it was free, hah!) or bored.com... And yes, my tribute to iSketch, as NoHints so nicely phrased it:

Well kinda like our jewels really. August 2006 I saw BM Jnr play some cruddy version if a drawing game that was on www.jippi.com and he and his CounterStrike mates were all on Skype (before MSN had VOIP) yelling abuse at each other for crap draws.
So I googled pictionary online and then found iSketch. Had no idea at first, but then started to really understand the play and how it all works. Some days I still have no idea, but can win a helluva lot. Except when CERTAIN PEOPLE are playing in the same room. I won't list them you all know who you are. Mostly forumites. In my first week I met the forum lovelies kisskiss, jewels, buffers and WildCherry. Since then, kissy introduced me to the forum where I have met so many more of our little (yet ever-expanding) community on-line and played against just about all of the forum regulars. It is probably really bad for your health, because I live on the other side of the planet from mosst of you, I have to be up quite late at night to catch anyone online.

well, i discover isketch through my friend's blog where she had a link to isketch (edit: ard 2yrs ago?). i started off as Newbie-278, n it had been my nick for quite some time b4 i changed. haven't met any of the forumites that time, but except for BM though. think have met him b4.
i know the rules as i played along, so quite ok. but my english standard would be consider below average compared to westerners. and my vocab stinks like ♥♥♥♥ therefore, some words i get to draw i've to skip coz i don't understand the meanings... -_-" i realise isketch is a fun way of learning english, and i became a regular soon after that. but i stopped for quite a few months until isketch once again reach me through my schoolmates (edit: last year.) =]

Ah... A tale rarely told... rofl :P
Being that I'm still a n00b - (Gasps of Horror, I hear from you!) I discovered iSketch maybe 3 months ago = P My work friends and I had been having this pictionary competition. It so happened my boyfriend introduced me to some online gaming site, where i'd seen this sketch-o-rama thing. Unfortunately it confused me so much I gave up thinking it was crap. So I googled 'online pictionary' so he and I could practice to beat them next round = P. The first coupe of games I just played UK Easy with him. We had some amusing times!!! I lost my newbie dot and away it went. A certain Ozzie was the first person I encountered, I threw her on my buddy list and the rest, as they say, is history. 3 months later - I can barely go a day without iSketch - See what you people have done to me!!! * b... giggles. Ok. I did it to myself.

it was 3 years ago. A friend told me on msn to click this link and play a game with himself and another friend. We made a custom room, it was on the nintendo list. And they got bored and left. But I was still interested, I checked out the uk easy rooms, and had quite some fun. Before I knew it i had known a couple people, 2 months later I had 200 wins and a small circle of friends. and all that hasnt stopped growing since, Still wont leave the darn uk rooms!!Why do I have to be so competitive o_O.

It'd be about 3 years ago for me too. I can't actually recall where I heard about iSketch, possibly on a technology forum I would lurk on, but I clearly remember the first time I played. It was during the afternoon and I was in a room with issy, dusk2dawn, m2g, AYEUP and a few others that are still regs. I was made to feel so welcome that I just had to go back again, and again .. and again .. and again .. repeat to fade
These days I rarely venture on during the day, I miss a lot of the daytime crowd. I'm now a night owl usually found haunting the UK rooms until 5am. I wish I'd discovered it earlier though |

4 years ago whilst waiting to go away on holiday... My sister and I were too excited and couldn't sleep. So she logged onto iSketch. I'd never seen it before and I watched her play a while and then decided to have a go myself. A few hours later I was still playing and she'd fallen asleep. I remember my first draw it was the word 'florist' and I mucked up the tools and had a massive pen nib... leading to 'you suck' etc...all this time on and I'm still sucking.

About 3 years ago my mate showed me isketch and i used to play with her at her house, (i couldnt work out how to download shockwave :S cabbage that i am) used names like Kat.and.Kat or whatever.
About a year later i finally downloaded shockwave and played when i got bored, few times a week, gradually i played more and more until i became the lovely disgusting addict i am today, i never really stopped playing isketch, just a gradual increase of addiction. i think its pretty much exactly 2 years since i became Katie.Lemon :) |

I first found the site in 2001, after clicking on a link left in the browser by my sister. I asked her about it and got a demo, then I had a go myself.
I also had a go at my sister for pretending to be 19 when she was actually 15... I got the name "el_pedro" in 2002 when my mate James at uni discovered I kept a stash of tortillas and fajita sauce in my cupboard. "Old El Paso" became "Old El Pedro" in reference to my real name... and the "El Pedro" bit stuck. |

I found iSketch at first in '99 I think it was. I can't remember what website it was now but there used to be an online email thing where you could set up anything you wanted after the @. Like instead of @hotmail.com you could pick @groundallflyingclocks.com or something like that. I'd be grateful if someone could refresh my memory
Anyway, on the log-out screen, there were banners and I clicked an isketch one aswel as a catchphrase one. I dabbled in and out for a few years, not making regular friends or not knowing basic things like type commands etc. I became 'hardcore' last year.

Yeah, so at the beggining i vented my frustration of yet another looks-like-porn-but-it-really-wasnt-porn site and became a porn drawing PIA. But now i am better, i only draw stickmen with disproportionately big heads and bulging feet.

I guess it was somewhere in the beginning of 2006. A lot of people on one of my favourite band's forum played it and I played with them a few times. Some of them still play it, but I don't know their names.
I've been playing on and off since then... Well, more off than on, I took a 6 month break at one point, and I play about once or twice a week nowadays.
