Post Favorite Music?

I want to start getting to know the people I'll be posting with from now on. I'll start out with favorite types of music.

I'm a classical music fan. Love the works of Liszt, Gershwin, Chopin, and many other classical composers. Also love Thomas Tallis' choral works... and a little Beethoven (I'm not a big fan of Beethoven's work other than his small string ensembles).

I am not the person to ask about music. I love music, don't get me wrong, but usually I listen to nothing. That means I can sing out all the show tunes... lol

My tastes are more weird than eclectic. I have Native American music, and Scottish Drinking Songs and lots of Classical Music. If I am listening to something it is probably Christian, but I like the music from my college era, like REM and Toad the Wet Sprocket. I am not too embarrassed to admit that I still listen to tapes of Europe and John Cougar Mellencamp.

I figure I will have enough weird music to embarrass my daughter for decades!

Currently the theme song to the cartoon "Madeline" is running through my head... "I'm Madeline, I'm Madeline... do be do be doo... I'm Madeline, I'm Madeline, Inside, I'm great" Can't tell I live with a 2 1/2 year old, can you?

Music? Ohhhh dont get me started. I can listen to just about every kind of music out there. I like some music in every genre I can think of and there are songs I also dislike in every genre out there. Im very open minded about music and like new experimental type music also. If I had say what I listen to mostly it would be Gothic, Industrial, Rock, Rap, Techno, Reggae and Reggaeton and dont forget the 80's. Im a beat monger though... meaning the lyrics can pretty much say what they want as long as the beat is right.

I have a pretty odd taste in music, I suppose.

I like music from many genres, but I mostly listen to (progressive) hardcore punk, traditional and modern Irish, British and Balkan folk, some progressive electronica, other singer/songwriter stuff that wasn't covered by the previous, ska and the occasional pop song. I do enjoy classical music, but only live. The same goes for jazz and blues.

The genre I listen to least is hip hop, but I don't mind hearing it at all -- it's just that there's so much crap from that genre that's popular right now (while it really can be quite good, in my opinion)

Eeeek... My favourite type of music is those gentle and a little hip hop too

As for gentle I'd love singing the two part voices. It always turns up really nice, the sound of the two parts, combining them together makes out a nicely sung melody

Hip hop music also sounds pretty cool, thats the thing I like about it. When I hear some hip hop music I feel like dancing about... The feeling is like, so rocky

That's about it all :)

I'm pretty much a "hardcore" indie rock/pop, electronic rock, experimental rocker...

Some of my favorites as of late are:
Xiu Xiu
MGMT
Jason Collett
Vampire Weekend
Patrick Wolf
Cat Powers
Brtish Sea Power
The Magic Numbers...

I'll stop there as I listen to wayyy too much music and this list could probably go on for another 200 artists or so...

The only music that I listen to is Indie/Folk...

My taste in music is very wide indeed. Classical (especially Ralph Vaughn Williams and Prokofiev), to musicals (yes, yes, I know), to Indie... Pretty much most of my ipod so far is made up of musical cast recordings and classical music. Some of my friends think I'm slightly weird, but I don't think so. Tis just my personal preference.

And for the record... I hate R n B/hiphop/rap/dance. Haha.

Hi. The only kind of music I can stand is... any kind. I like it all, and it's incredibly extremely immensely hard to pick out a favorite genre; however, lately, I mostly listen to new age, pop/rock, and world.

Here's a copy/pasted list of my favorite artists: Yes, Vangelis, Thievery Corporation, Sting, Sarah Brightman, Cusco, Enya, Peter Gabriel, David Bowie, Moby, Yanni, Andreas Vollenweilder, Cirque du Soleil, Loreena McKennitt, Weird Al Yankovic, Keiko Matsui, Danny Elfman, Oingo Boingo, Vicki Logan, Cat Stevens, Josh Groban, Capercaillie, Seal, Jamiroquai, Big Boss Man, Moya Brennan, Kalio Gayo, Adiemus

Also, I've been in an '80s-music phase for the past four or five years now.

Edit:

No problem! Im happy you liked them! Did you check out any of the other songs that the Gregorians do?... There are a lot of good ones... including this remake of the 80's(1983 to be exact(LOVE THE 80s)) song Send Me An Angel by Real Life:

Gregorian - Send Me An Angel

I love both versions myself.

Heres something else for you to listen to sketches:

Stoa - Partus

This is Ethereal music. A cross between synth and classical/new age. Enjoy!

Oh, I saw you said that you like Yanni, well if you like Yanni you have to check this out....

Kitaro - Matsuri

Anyone like some R&B/Hip Hop?
