Forum Treasure Hunt - Bonus Stage

Whilst Stage 2 is underway, I am going to throw in a bonus stage!

Some entrants have put a lot of effort into the images they used for Stage 1 of the Treasure Hunt, and I thought it would be a shame for me to be the only one to see all of them. Also, I wanted to be able to give a bonus for those who were a little (or a LOT) creative/different in finding/creating their images.

So, for each word I will put all the images that were sent up in a poll.

ALL forumites (whether you entered the Treasure Hunt or not) are eligible to vote for the pictures that they think show a little creativity, or are an interesting representation of the word. There is no limit on how many you can vote for, I am trusting everyone to be sensible.

SCORING FOR THIS BONUS STAGE:



For each word, you will be automatically allocated a percentage by the poll of how many voters liked your representation of the word.

• The total of your percentages for all 12 words will be added together at the end and then divided by 1200 to give an overall average percentage for creativity.
• This final percentage will be multiplied by 12 to give an overall point allocation, rounded up or down according to conventional rounding rules.
• The maximum you could receive for this bonus round is therefore 12 points.

Note that those people who did not get images for all 12 words, I will use the same method, but take the number of words you found – ie if you found 10 words, your total percentage will be divided by 1000 and then multiplied by 10. This is because these bonus points are for overall creativity of the images you sent.

But then, it's pretty obvious if it ends up you are the only one voting for it

Forgive me if you covered this (and I didn't understand it :S).

I was wondering.. is this bonus stage.. separate from the actual Treasure Hunt? 'cause at first I thought it wasn't, and felt that those who put the effort in for better pictures were at a much bigger advantage of winning the thing... and then I realised that I must be mad, 'cause then it sort of takes the purpose of the treasure hunt away. Soooo... I'm guessing this is just separate, right?n I just wasn't sure if bonus meant a way of getting more points.. or bonus as in a separate thing..

I got the impression from some of the hints Saffy dropped in round one that our creativity in choosing pictures might have an effect on the result. Having said that, the pics I chose have an explanation behind them which makes them more interesting! But it's a level playing field cause none of us knew exactly what to expect.

Bonus in this case = getting more points.

Look at it this way:
The clues in Stage 1 led you to 'treasure' to be found. (eg a diamond in the rough)
The value of that treasure is higher if it is a little different/creative. (eg a faceted diamond)
Stage 2 will show how the treasure can be put together to form a rare creation (eg a diamond necklace)
