I figure this is a media thing over general discussion...

I have finally got my hands on a Wii. Not overly impressed tbh, but it is a bit of fun, and definitely something new to get to grips with... but do we have any other console gamers here?
What do you play?
Are you more of an online player or prefer the solo games?
Do you hate games consoles and the time that your other half spends on them causes you to grind your teeth and throw things?

I've never owned a console since my Amstrad computer years and years ago. But my cousin has an x-box 360 which i'm always playing when i'm round there. Graphics are amazing and has some cool games!
My favourite game being Geometry wars! Be warned though, it's very addictive.

I know someone who breaks something or knocks something over everytime they play the Wii (you know who you are!)

i have a playstation 2 and a wii. the wii can be fun as it is unique, however i do love the playstation 2 and it is my favorite.

I am with you on the playstation 1, i also have it lol.
I love playing pacman world on it, hehehe im good to lol.
Id love to try out the wii, i may buy it for the kids, see how good they behave first.
I also love my old beloved atari console, and all my old fave games priceless

I saw a news clip on the PS3 - big chance for the blokes to convince their wives that they need one. It's a virtual Media Centre. Does photos, movies, slideshows, you can even rip Audio CD's to it and add music to your picture slideshows. Has reasonably good internet access as well.

Graphics are excellent - saw them playing a F1 racing game and even the rain across the windscreen was exceptionally well done. But at $1000 AUD I don't think so. Not just yet anyway. Will stick with the PS2, Nintendo GameCube (what a dud that was) and iSketch when I get my computer back working.

We have the ps 1 and 2, we ordered the ps 3 for xmas, but as it was delayed we got the x-box 360 live, although I have only played it once or twice, my eldest son is always on it, it's great you can play games against other people live, ( wow technology, sure beats the binatone I had as a child)

i dont have anything except the pc. but i did have sega... <3 and the original atari

I had one of those dodgy little 2 player consoles in the early eighties. The ones that had "PONG" Although we have the PS2 and the Nintendo GameCube (oh and the old N64) most of the games played in my house are on-line. Counterstrike and iSketch being the ones that really get a workout.

The first console I ever had was a Sega Master System. I still have it! Next, I got a Mega Drive.
It was totally awesome at the time. Good old thumb bleeding Street Fighter days, woohoo!

Then I had a PS1, sold it, got an N64. (Diddy Kong Racing; best game ever)

PS2 Was next. Gran Turismo, also brilliant. PS2 is my latest console. I've played a little on the 360, looks stunning! But I was waiting for the PS3 last year, then they delayed it again and again and again! Now it's here, and the price is horrific. I'll probably wait till Christmas until I even consider getting one =)

Boxing day sales: 9 months (today) and counting! Woohoooo!!
