Happy Red Nose Day!

Happy Red Nose Day to everyone!
So, here it is on March 13th, when lots of charity event organising happens and donations fly all over the show.

People do a whole range of things to raise money for Comic Relief, from running, cycling and swimming to some more unusual ideas such as sponsored silences and having various parts of the body waxed

Do you know of anyone that is currently raising a certain amount of money for Comic Relief or any other charity? Are you doing some kind of activity for sponsorship for a charity?

All discussion welcomed :)

It's a day where money is raised for a charity named Comic Relief, which helps children in the UK and Africa, providing them with adequate activities and services.
People wear red noses, like a clown's nose, which cost £1 each and all the money goes to the charity.

Got into work today, and it's the first Red Nose Day I haven't seen anyone with collection tins. Are they all at home trying to get Michael Jackson Tickets?

Oh wow.
Er..... Red Nose Day in Australia is a totally different thing.
It is held on the last Friday in June, and here, it is for raising money for research into SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome)

As Saff said- Red Nose Day is about raising SIDS awareness in Aus. It's an even bigger event in NZ- and actually - there used to be a really catchy jingle "you make the whole world smile with your little button nose" a few years ago. Perhaps Nuka, Inevitable or other users who still live there could confirm (if they read this)- but that campaign was scaled down/abandoned a few years ago? Or else more likely- the reason it's no longer on youtube is because- nobody else shares my equisite taste on music : S

But back on topic- :)- to answer your question yeah- I've been involved volunteer work with The Red Cross, Anglicare and Princess Margaret Hospital for a number of years- though not quite to the same extent as other people I know. In fact- Aussie the junior youth ambassador for the is a family friend- personally I think he's amazing, though it makes me wish I could do more stuff like that. Perhaps one day :)
