LOL!

So, we're incredibly indecisive. We had a ton of names which we both liked, and we've managed to cut it down to the final 3.

I'd be happy with any of these names, as would my husband, so now we're looking for outside opinions.

Please vote, and if you like, also let us know why you like a name, or why you dislike one, what associations the name has for you etc.

If one of these IS your name, please let us know if you like being called it!

There will be a middle name as well, but we're not opening that particular can of worms just yet. If you do think of a middle name which goes well with any of the ones above, please post it!

I like all of those names, you have given good choices, but Isabelle is the one that stands out for me. Maybe it is because I knew an Isabelle at school who was really friendly towards everyone, I don't know.

Also, the name can be shortened to Belle perhaps when she is older, because lots of families have single-syllabled nicknames for each other now.

Hmm.. I think I like Isabelle too. It's kinda fruity but not. :)
I don't really like Lucia for some reason... It kinda reminds me of someone from harry potter, like narcissa and stuff. :P
And I have a best friend called Alice, so I love the name but I wouldn't pick it above other names. :)
And also Isabelle is close to bella.. >.>

If you're having a middle name as well, make sure you remember to check that her 'acronym', so to speak, isn't anything embarrassing. ;P

I like the other too, as well.. but Alice not so much. Purely 'cause I loved Alice In Wonderland as a kid. And I can't quite seem to shake off the name being associated to that :( So when I hear Alice, I always say "in wonderland" in my head.. O_O But I'm just a freak like that :P

I really does love Isabelle though :) It's got a nice UK/German feel to it. Don't know how or why.. it just seems to fit in well with both countries.

The one reservation I have with Alice is 'Alice? Who the **** is Alice?'

I hate that song and I think I'd have to kill anyone who sang it around our daughter if we chose that name, lol.

One of my good friends over here is also expecting, with a due date one month behind us.. (Valentines baby, how cute!) and when I just now asked her opinion, her face fell, as she said Isabelle is top of her list for a girl! Oh noes! I can't be *that* person who steals her most beloved name :(

On the plus side if it's not a girl and it turns out to be a boy (mistakes happen!) you could always choose Herman

Well, I'm glad we found out now rather than setting our hearts on the name 100% and THEN finding out. Or waiting until the birth and then breaking my friend's heart by announcing that we called our daughter their name...

BUT they don't know yet if they are having a boy or a girl, so until then, Isabelle is still on the table :)

Weirdly enough, their number one choice for a boy (Alexander) was also ours....

Hmmm I voted Lucia because I've always thought that the name Lucy was incredibly cute and can grow with a person for sure...but also because I instantly thought of the opera Lucia di Lammermoor which has really beautiful music (although Lucia does go mad at the end of it, but has a pretty cool scene!)



Kaspar was named from an opera too...he was definitely the bad guy in the opera Der Freischutz. He was the guy who had sold his soul to the devil!!

But yeah, I like Lucia...

I don't really care for Isabelle just because it is SO common over here. Alice neither because I had a really irritating music teacher in high school named Alice haha.

Middle names....what is your middle name? That's what I would have used if I had a girl (my middle name is Marie). I chose Kaspar's though through a saints list, and I really wanted a name with just one syllable (I chose Jude). He's the patron saint of adverse situations...so I thought it was kind of fitting in a way.

Anywho, there's my two cents!

My sister's called Alice, i spent too much time around her on holiday and she got annoying, so me and my cousins liked to wind her up by singing living nextdoor to Alice, she probably hated it more when we sang Alice the camel, though.

Yup - my husband really likes Lucy and so do I, although I thought Lucia would be better as at least she has options once she grows up to go with something a little more mature sounding (imo).

Isabelle is definitely the most popular right now from the 3... which does put me off somewhat. I'd hate her to be Isabelle M., or 'little Isabelle' or whatever in school because of it.

Vik. I dunno if this advice will help. BUT this is what I did with my girls. I gave them a more contemporary name and a more "mature sounding" name too so they could switch as they get more mature if they wish. Plus i made sure, that the names flowed off the tongue when said right after the other. Here are the names: Kristen Lorraine. Amber Jeanne. Anna Elise.

They are very happy to have these options to thier names indeed! It makes them defs feel like I had thier interests at heart..which of course I did! I love all your choices. They are very classic indeed and variants of some i like...like Alicia, Lucille, Isabella (the latin influence obviously with the ending in the A) ect... its tough. I will vote ;) Dunno if my advice helps but it is something to think about. A very classic and a more contemporary mix so the choice is there for your baby when she gets older! Either way, whatever you choose... I am sure ..will be ..perfect! <3 <3

I have a friend named Lucy, who is really nice (she wouldn't be my friend, otherwise ;)), and I had a teacher in primary school who was called Lucia, and she was my favourite.

Most of all, though, it's a pretty name.

I think we'll give it another couple of months before we start telling people the final decision - just to make really sure we like it, and also to make sure at the next scan that she's not actually a he!

got here too late! the name has been chosen, ah well, i liked isabelle and lucia, but definitely voted for lucia, probably because i like all spanish sounding names :D.

Side Note: I like the name Elizabeth, as it can be shortened to Liz, which i find ridiculously attractive... (maybe a middle name, i dunno)
