Isketch regs setting bad examples
Hey,
I've been an iSketch user for some months now but I do have concerns at how peoples' attitudes, especially of those who have high regard with many people. I've seen that people like to influence the younger players, who are the most vulnerable, especially when it comes to topics such as drinking and drugs. It seems common that people seem to justify drinking to younger players by saying that it is normal. I disagree with this highly as not only it is irresponsible but also disgusting by having an adult set a bad example. I have also seen the same people log on isketch after they've had quite a few drinks, insulting other players with very bad language and they feel it's humourous to get kicked from the game. I think those who made fools of themselves should look in the mirror and look at themselves in disgust. People use the internet to have a relaxing time and enjoy it, but instead there are people who like to ruin it by getting abusive, and turn on other players to get some sort of enjoyment. Well, what I would like to seee is that if you wish to do such things, then carry on, but it will only make you hated by the majority of friendly isketch players. Thank you, Jo |

I agree with you, I think that it's quite disgusting. They should be banned for about 24 hours until they sober up. If they keep doing it then I think a ban should be considered. Those are my thoughts anyway. I think that iSketch needs more control because young people do come on and if this carrys on complaints from parents will be made. Which is not what you want.

Tbf, the majority of people on iSketch 'ruin it by getting abusive' aren't drunk, they just n00bs, or knobs. The odd drunk person hardly compares to the load of arseholes that swarm iSketch everyday anyways.
You're opinion that people make fools of themselves and should look in the mirror in disgust, is just that, an opinion. My personal opinion is that people who talk like slimy dirty pervs on iSketch on a regular basis, are more disgusting, and that is also a far more regular occurrence. Fair does they might make fools of themselves aswel, but why should that make a difference to you? Quote:

For meeeeeee, i'm not that much older than 13 but hey XD i dont mind so much. i DO joke sometimes, saying that they're all being bad influences, but really?. I'm a goody-two-shoes half the time that doesnt let that influence me at all XD <3 I dont care if they're being odd like that and whatnot, but yeah, the people on isketch are normally old enough to make the right decisions for themselves. ..... :)

The problem is, if it is a problem, is that nowhere is it written that iSketch is a children's site. It has much in the way of adult content, and even rooms entitled *14-16 masturbating* and namers like *big****4u* etc... which could be perceived as adult content or troublesome on a site containing both adults and children.
However, it would be squarely the responsibility of the parent to make sure their children are safe online and iSketch isn't a nanny, or a children's site with any moral responsibility towards young people. It just is. The voting system allows players to report/police such behaviour/material if they find it offensive, but remember, everyone's level is different. What may be offensive to you, may not be to many and it is not up to an admin to police moral issues. It's no player's moral crusade to cleanse iSketch, there are such a huge variety of people on there, and people are more freely spoken when hiding behind the protection of their screens, so this kind of behaviour is to be expected, and does exist on every other non-nannied site online. It's the downside to freedom of expression, just /ignore if it's bugging you. |
