Nerdy's recent news

This is taken and edited from my RH a couple of days ago:

I unfortunately have some upsetting news.

Nerdy had her scan today and it was discovered that her uterus is actually without child. Although there is no baby, nerdy had all the signs of pregnancy and strictly speaking, she is still pregnant as she still has all the signs of pregnancy.

Now the pregnancy wasn't imagined as there are cases of that, called Pseudocyesis. What nerdy has is similar to a normal miscarriage but instead the uterus doesn't realise it got rid of the fertilised egg and the pregnancy continues as normal.

Nerdy and her husband are a bit shocked and are still getting their heads around it. It is upsetting news but they are both very strong and have each other as well our family and Mr Nerdy's family.

Nerdy isn't going to give up trying and hopefully there will be some very good news in the near future.

Nerdy would like to thank all those who were and who continue to be supportive during this unfortunate time.

* *AJ* gives nerdy a warm bear hug xxx

Thank you all for your kind words.
I really am struggling to find words at the moment.

Not what I expected because being 3 months, I thought my chances of miscarriages (or things similar) were gone because everything was going so well.

I feel a bit empty at the moment. I don't know how to describe it. It's just hard being told that I'm still "pregnant" but that there is no baby. I just.. well my mind can't grasp the idea of that. Now I have 3 options.. 1. wait it out naturally and have it all come out (but if I wait too long, it could cause an infection and mess with my chances of having babies in the future), 2. take a pill to speed up the process and have it all gone within 48 hours, or 3, have my uterus completely cleaned out via surgery. At the moment, I'm going with option one. But I just don't know if I can keep going on with it knowing that I'm pregnant and feeling pregnant still but having no baby in me.

I know one day hubby and I will have a healthy little baby. I still want my football team of kids. I'll never give up hope.

Thank you again. I really appreciate all the messages, both on the forum and in private (you know who you all are.. sorrry I haven't replied personally yet).

I'm really sorry -- that must be quite a disappointment.
I wish you and your husband all the best and I hope whatever option you decide chose turns out well.

Ty, Nay.
Well, option 1 wasn't going too well, so it looks like I'll have to go in for the surgery one. I read into option 2 (the pill), and it's actually not just A PILL. It's 13 pills altogether, forcing your body to miscarriage.. the process sounds rough for the body :S I don't think I could do that. Of course, it also has side effects. The whole procedure sounds pretty long winded and painful, so I'm skipping that option.

I'm going in to hospital today, and hopefully it'll happen soon, but the waiting list is anywhere from one hour to about 3 days. I did have another scan to confirm that there definitely was no baby, and not a second sac either (containing a baby), so now that's over, I just want it gone.

I'd just like to thank you all for your support again. It's appreciated.

Urgh, I hate doing this.

More bad news. Last night nerdy had a seizure, it's been the first one since she was married. Thankfully she was around our house when it happened. I'd have to say that this is the worst one she's had so far, including the one I witnessed a few years ago.

Nerdy was taken to hospital by ambulance after midnight and is now staying in for observation. The hospital waited a total of 4 and a half hours after her seizure to give her something to calm her symptoms

We think what may have triggered the seizure is the amount of stress she's been under lately. Yesterday and the day before she spent a total of 9 hours in the hospital waiting room hoping to be seen for her D&C but the hospital messed them around so much she gave up.

I think last night her and her husband decided to go privately to have the D&C done because they don't want to risk infections seeing as the miscarriage isn't happening naturally. The latest I heard was that the hospital wanted to do the D&C today but now we think it's not a good idea and she should recover from her seizure properly :/

For now, the only good thing that's come out of this is that she hasn't miscarried even with this seizure. It's good in the sense that it's some reassurance that if anything was to happen during any future pregnancies, the baby should be ok. However, if the miscarriage was to happen now, that would be ideal so she avoids the pills and D&C.

Oh yeah, and hospital visiting hours suck; 3-7pm

Thanks, all :) Sorry it took me a while to reply.. :|
I'm doing much better now. Still in a bit of pain, but that's going slowly :)

Heh.. that's what they were doing to me. I don't remember anything of it 'cause I was in and out of consciousness a lot. But what I do remember was being injected in my hand where it felt like I was getting stabbed to death :| Apparently I went red in the face, cried, screamed and my body came off the bed, lol. Dang, the pain. It wouldn't normally hurt that much, but my veins and muscles were already all tense from the actual seizure. That was probably the most painful way of getting rid of someone's pain O_o

Apparently when hubby gave me the choice and said "you can either recover from the seizure in hospital now, and we'll go get the surgery done privately when you're better, or you can have it done here now, too. It's up to you", I replied with "just get it all over and done with now, while I'm still in pain".. lmao. I definitely don't remember saying that.

It's a shame that it took me to have a seizure before they decided to do an emergency surgery. I'd have needed to wait 2 weeks if it wasn't for that seizure :|

Anyway, much better now. I can try again for another babeh XD

Yay... Nerdy is better! Was worried for you for a bit there. Here's hoping for better success having a baby in the future. Good luck and be well.

I figured I may as well post here...

Thank you all for your messages, again. I wanted to inform you that I'm 3 months pregnant - I know, I only gave myself a 2 month gap since the last pregnancy, but ya know.. we both want our first baby while we're 'young' :P And after the last time, I really wanted one so badly! I didn't want to make it public until my 3 month scan was done, which was today :)

Obviously, there is a long way to go yet, but it was great being able to see a baby there, unlike last time when the sac was empty at 3 months, even though I had all the symptoms of pregnancy. Seeing the baby in the scan just makes the pregnancy so real. And it was doing some things that made me laugh.. like covering it's face with it's hands.. and sucking it's thumb, lol!

The two seizures that I had recently (at the end of July) was during my pregnancy, and as you can imagine, it caused some problems, but it's great to see that the baby seems healthy and my 'insides' are okay, lol. Here's hoping the rest of the pregnancy will now go smoothly, God willing.

Thanks again to those who have supported me, especially after the last missed miscarriage that I had. You know who you all are :) xxx

Nobody really knows about those two seizures you had during this pregnancy but those were pretty bad and they threatened the pregnancy in a big way!
All I have to say is Nerdy's very lucky she didn't lose the baby in July and she stayed strong throughout the whole thing. Let's just hope you're blessed with a really good baby who sleeps well and stuff :P
