So weird I just got a second monitor set up and was thinking of starting this thread.

The image on the left is a photo I took down at the beach of this circular rock pool with a big boulder in the middle which I thought was pretty cool. On the right is actress hottie Kristin Kreuk best known for her lead role in the hit series Smallville.

Having a dual-screen set up like the one I showed above is so freaking awesome. The right one is really good for doing word docs, browsing the web and stuff because of it's vertical orientation, the left one is good for movies & design work. Perfec'.

I feel your pain 2.0, I was stuck with that very same problem for about a year and I think I got a new PC or reinstalled windows before it ever disappeared! Do you have registry access? If so you may be able to fix it...

I wish i could, the computer is a network terminal, my account is at the "user" level. I know the password for a poweruser account and the administrative password for this computer, and the backgrounds work fine on both. So it's a bug on my profile only and IT hasn't figured out how to fix it and they won't give my account domain privs so i can fix it myself.

Nope. Bastards won't give me the power. I know it's simply a matter of replacing the corrupt desktop.htt file from the folder, but getting access to that folder is the trick. it's locked out from all sides, only a domain superadmin can unlock it, and that guy is always too busy or too far away from his office (like now, he's in the states somewhere) to fix this for me. But it's ok, it's been a year like that, i don't mind anymore. Plus, in 2 weeks this will be the the computer of the poor bastard that will take my job when i leave, and it'll be serviced before then (wiped clean and given a new server image), so i really don't care. Still, it's fun to play the "click Yes as many times and as fast as you can until you get a blue screen and the computer crashes" game.
