View Full Version : WHERE are the admins when you NEED one??

This kinda stuff shouldn't be allowed to go on. We had a particularly gross, lewd, offensive person who was harassing other players who did not solicit to be the target of his filthy remarks. 3 other players voted to boot this player. And not an admin for over am hour and a half (he was still there when I left, saying the same gross stuff... We asked him to tone it down and would only get a gross remark...)

What I find annoying also is that someone used "letters" and was kicked out within 10 seconds of doing it, for 60 minutes... Yet this gross guy was allowed to pester players unwantedly for as long as he liked. What's the point of the warn, and vote to boot functions if they are not effective. What's more, once we'd voted to boot, we couldn't vote again. Even after a full hour. I think the vote to boot should time out or refresh or whatever... Otherwise how do the admins know to come in??

yes it hurts to see someone showing signs of sexual content on a public site

some users on the site like cyber sex and some even go to the extremes of sharing dodgy pics and vids on other sites Oo

as for someone being blocked for 10 seconds all they did was to log back in as they would have been kicked out of the room only

moobydick, I think you are confused.

kicked out within 10 seconds of doing it, for 60 minutes...

If someone is typing lewd comments, use the /ignore feature. It does wonders.

Ickpick, that is a wonderful screenshot, but please also send it to Feedback? ( info@isketch.net) that's the place to complain.

Thanks!

Also perhaps a /whois or /ip on the user who is causing trouble.

I found that out about 20 mins later when browsing on here - that IP and WHOIS have been removed. I couldn't be arsed to edit tho

My darkest day was when /BORG was disabled.

Mine too...

I'd like to second mindraker's comment, /ignore still works and it does wonders.

You can even /ignore yourself, if you are annoyed by yourself. Quite funny that it's possible :P

Playing iSketch with all users ignored including yourself is a beautiful thing.

I would assume that it would be quite peaceful, actually. Hmm....

/me contemplates this idea.....

yes unfortunatly there seems to be a huge lack of admins recently.

A couple of days ago there were a team of 4 (count em, 4) who were sharing answers. At first they were being subtle but after 4 kick votes from myself and then 4 skip votes too they were still there a good 45 minutes later. Knowing the admins weren't responding they gave up being subtle and were just really taking the piss.

The result? I get a warning from an admin for using letters - despite not having drawn.

Cheers admin.

Clockwork - I may have been in that game?!? Similar thing happened to me the other day, and I GOT BOOTED for 24 HOURS because I reported them for sharing answers (see my previous posts!!) If not a very, very similar scenario happened...

As for the "ignore" feature - SHOULDN'T HAVE TO!! It should be addressed when reported and not allowed. And, other players not so new to iSketch might not know HOW to use the "ignore feature", thus having to tolerate it despite reporting mechanisms...

All in all, it was a bit of a Fail...

It's not like people haven't applied...

Exactly. There is a wealth of fantastic candidates who play the game yet they can't have enough to deal with every vote? System doesn't sound right...

Unless of course Rob has actually drowned with all the applications flooding in. In this case, RIP Rob..

Gotta be honest, you will probably find this scenario happening a lot at the moment. With fewer and fewer admins working the ones who are online get a larger and larger workload. I literally went through and tried to /find every admin i have on my 36 strong list and the only one I could find refused to offer me help. I recall all 4 of the cheaters being on team SEX though (which narrows it down a lot i know) :P

Have you applied, Clockwork? Might as well...

Yeah, well, then there's scenarios like today where 3 people are clearly cheating, someone accuses them, I didn't accuse (though I did comment on what I observed in one of the pics as being guessed oddly early), they all gang up on me, swear at me, name call ME (and I wasn't even the accuser)... So I vote to boot after putting up with too much of it, and what happens, they retaliation boot, admin comes in, they are on their "best behaviour"... and allowed to get away with calling me filthy names. Despite my PMing the admin to explain the scenario, and having screenshots of them doing what they denied they were doing...

The admin did boot one of them, who swore and called me a name infront of him, but that player returned and was allowed to stay only seconds later... Effective that! *sigh*

To think if someone draws "Z's" to represent sleeping, they get chucked out in seconds. Yet a collaborative harrassment effort gets a blind eye. I'm kinda over bothering to play. Shame, cos it's a nice game...

Why did they refuse to help you? On what grounds??

Usually (but not always) the people who do that sort of nonsense are also the ones who draw filth and/or break -drawing- rules. I've found that reporting the -image- will get a faster kick/ban than reporting trash talk.
Immaturity in the chat tends to carry over onto the drawing board. So, if you can put up with it for a round or two... bite your tongue... and report a drawing rule violation instead.

Just too busy with another issue.

Although insteresting to see the last day or two there does appear to be a few new admins about. Whether or not these problems are down to "newbie" admins so to speak, I don't know...?

No such thing as newbie admins. Admins are born all-knowing and omnipotent.

Seriously though. Anybody that's been playing any length of time knows that if trolls are in one room, you dont play in that room. Granted it can take you maybe what, 5 minutes, to find a room to play in, but at least you dont have to put up with idiots on the game. I stay clear of the easy rooms and rooms like animals and colors that are known hangouts for idiots

Aw, I don't know, part of the satisfaction of the game is having all the sounds muted and then hearing the troll getting *kicked*

Well I don't know, a few times some of the newer admins have had to apologise after warning me for voting someone they didn't realise was vote-able, until a more experienced admin told them otherwise. It happens.

It is a nice sound isnt it? It's not so much the sound itself but the time the kick sounds and the satisfaction that comes with it.

Ah i understand now. I can't say i disagree.

I think it's cool when they admit they made a mistake. Human beings, young or old, all make mistakes when they're noobs at something. I have been a noob many many times in my life at many things, and i have stepped in it. I find that it takes a lot of guts to admit and apologize for mistakes, i think it's grand of them.
