It has been said by philosophers and physicists alike that observation begets existence -- that in order to exist, a thing must be seen, heard, measured. Since I would very much like to exist, I think I ought to announce myself here. I have been aware - active, even - in the iSketch game for some time now. Only recently did I discover a forum attached to the game. And when I found that there were more games inside the forum, well, let's just say the iSketch network has declared all-out war on my productivity, and all indications are it's winning. What I'm trying to say is, join the flyplane tournament.
No! What I'm really trying to say is HELLO. I am 19, I live in California, I think pineapples are better than watermelons and James Bond is way cooler than Batman. Everything else, you'll just have to ask.

I don't know what they feed 19 year olds these days, but by my recollections, they're the ones more inclined towards the pineapples-are-'deliciouser'-than-watermelons-like school of thought...
Having said that. I prefer pineapples. Coz a watermelon is water in a pretty package.
Welcome to the forum and enjoy.

Welcome to the forum Sirago! I like a good philosophical debate :p
It has been said by philosophers and physicists alike that observation begets existence -- that in order to exist, a thing must be seen, heard, measured. Which begs the question, who observed the first observer, in order for his (or her) existence?

I like a good philosophical debate :p
My friend took a philosophy exam at college. There was one question on the paper.
"This is the question. Discuss."
They wrote four words for their answer.
This is the answer.
They received an A.

It seems to me that every self-aware being can observe and thus validate its own existence; indeed, this is the very definition of self-awareness. I am not a philosopher. Why am I philosophing?
I don't think you can guarantee that something about yourself that you are self-aware of is necessarily what an observer would be aware of.
For example, I think that I am dashing, with a razor sharp wit.
Observers think I'm a prat.
Welcome to the forum, Sirago. :)
