I have been a long-time Isketch addict. Recently, after I updated my browser to IE7, isketch will generally kick me out right after I enter a room. It seems to happen more often than not when the round is over and the fireworks are shooting off.

I figured it was Flash and/or Shockwave not playing well with IE7, so I uninstalled and reinstalled them both ("both" being Flash and Shockwave, not IE7). Same result.

I checked my firewall. There were four Shockwave players listed, the last one with security settings lower than the other three. Ah ha!:!: Nope, after giving the latest Shockwave full access through the firewall, still same result.

I need my boysenberries and slimy trouts. Is there anyone smarter than me (read: everyone) out there who may have a clue what is going on?:?:

I would suggest you turn off the fireworks and also player icons in your settings. See if this imporves things for you.

Thanks for the suggestion. I just did it. Kicked me out.

Restarted IE7 and logged back in in round 9 of a game. Got two guesses in before the browser folded quicker than Superman on laundry day.

I may have to reinstall IE7. I don't think a rollback to 6 would be a good idea at this point. I have heard of some users having problems with IE7 and Isketch, but I don't think they are of the magnitude that I am experiencing... if you have another epiphany, please feel free to post it. :)

Would you consider installing firefox or avant as a backup?

I thought about that. That will be my "nuclear option" if need be. I just hate to install a browser for one website. But Isketch would be one of those I would do it for. I don't mind Firefox too much, never used Avant. Which do you personally prefer?

Avant works the same as IE, but it's lighter and i like it for that, but i must say that firefox is often my first choice.

Firefox is really good but it messed up on my computer so I have I'm using Netscape but if you can get Firefox use that. Its really good and shouldn't give you any issues =).

After installing IE7, I had issues with iSketch or should I say "My computer had issues wit iSketch".

I loaded Mozilla/Firefox and then installed the Shockwave player from Adobe. No problems for a few days. Tried back in IE7 and voila! It works - only issues I had occasionally were due to the fireworks and name picture icons.

This is all good info. Thanks, everyone, for taking the time to post it. I will likely install Firefox and then try my luck at IE7 at a later date. Again, thanks!

I hope it works out for you. I know of a few people who were experiencing the same issues with IE - even after turning off fireworks and user display icons. I would throw out my recommendations, but it sounds like you're a PC user and not a mac user.

Good luck with it, I hope it works well under Firefox for you. :)

My family is a microcosm of the Civil War - half use Macs and half use PCs. I'm a mechanical engineer now, so I was pretty much forced to go PC. But I am pretty well acquainted with both and appreciate them for their strengths.

Macs will always have a soft spot in my heart - As a teenager, I cut my teeth on a 128 MB model in the 80s, the first-run model that would eject a 3.5" disk right into your sternum if you weren't careful. :)
