HappyHippo

Okay, so you're all going to think that I'm a total loser by posting this...but I got really bored and took the lyrics of the song American pie by Don Mclean and started substituting isketch "regulars" names into it. (well, isketch forum regs at least).
Anyway, I thought it might be fun if I posted it to show you guys, and maybe we could sort of make it a group effort...I don't know, haha.
So here it goes,
A long, long time ago...
I can still remember
How that music used 2.0 make me smile.
And I knew if I had my chance
That I could (j)ma(c)ke those people danse*(5555)
And, maybe, they’d (New)be(e) happy(Hippo) for a while.
But February made me shiver
With every paper I’d db-liver.
Bad news on the doorstep;
I couldn’t take one more step.
I can’t remember if I cried
When I read about his widowed bride,
But something touched db inside
The day the music(man2010) died.
So bye-bye, miss(yRed) american pie.
Drove my chevy 2.0 the lovii,
But the lovii was (Alessa)dri.
And them good old boys were drinkin’ whiskey and rye
Singin’, "this’ll be the day that I die.
"this’ll be the day that I die."
Did you write the book of lovii,
And do you have faith in God above,
If the Belli tells you so?
Do you believe in rock ’n roll,
Can music save your mato’ soul,
And can you teach me how to dance real slow(thinker)
Well, I know that you’re in lovii with him
`cause I saw you dancin’ in the gym.
You both kicked off your shoes.
Meds, I (in)dig(nation) those rhythm and (pixi)blues.
I was a lonely teenage broncin’ buck
With a pink carnation and a pickup truck,
But I knew I was out of (dead)lock
The day the music died.
Now for ten years we’ve been on our own
And moss grows fat on a rollin’ stein(y),
But that’s not how it used to be.
When the jester (lap)sang for the king and queen,
In a coat he borrowed from Jamesdn
And a voice that came from you and me,
Oh, and while the king was looking down,
The j(obe)ester stole his thorny crown.
The courtroom was adjourned;
No(Hints) was returned.
And while (Katie.)lemon, read a book of fox,
The quartet practiced in the park,
And we sang dirges in the dark
The day the music died.
Helter skelter in a summer swelter.
The Sparrows flew off with a fallout shelter,
(gt727)8 miles high and falling fast.
It landed foul on the grisse.
The pl(ayer)s tried for a forward pass,
With the jester on the sidelines in a cast(a_diva).
Now the half-time air was sweet Honey
While the sergeants played a marching tune.
We all got up to dance,
Oh, but we never got the chance!
`cause the players tried to take the field;
The marching banned refused to (clue)y(e)eield.
Do you recall what was revealed
The day the music died?
Oh, and there we were all in one place,
A Jenniration lost in space
With no time left to start again.
So come on: (Amb)jack be nimble, (Amb)jack be quick!
(Amb)Jack flash sat on a candlestick
Cause fire is the devil’s only friend.
Oh, and as I watched him on the stage
My hands were clenched in fists of rage.
No (sketch)angel born in hell
Could break that Sorsie spell.
And as the flames climbed high in2.0 the night
To light the sacrificial rite,
I saw satan laughing with delight
The day the music died
I met a girl who sang the Malibu
And I asked her for some happy(hippo) news,
But she just smiled and turned away.
I went down to the sacred storm
Where I’d heard the music years before,
But the man there said the music wouldn’t play.
And in the streets: the children (star)screamed,
The lovers cried, and the poets dreamed.
But not a word was spoken;
The church bell(icimo)s all were broken.
And the (8)3(0) men I admire most:
The father, Syn(sei), and the holy(diver) Spectre,
They caught the last train for the coast
The day the music died.
Please don't feel bad if I didn't include you, this is what I came up with off the top of my head, but I'd absolutely love to get new ones. And yes, I changed band to banned... :P
