Whoo!
The Apprentice starts next week :) I know there are a couple of fans here still who love watching it. Let's get ready to rant, cry and laugh, lol :) (well, maybe not cry.. 'cause that's a bit dramatic for the apprentice XD)

I didn't watch the last series but I might watch this one as I was intrigued by the Comic Relief show.
Apparently one of the guys from the Apprentice last series comes into my Sainsbury's quite regularly. He must live near :)

Yayyy Apprentice.
(well, maybe not cry.. 'cause that's a bit dramatic for the apprentice XD)Umm, when Raef got fired, I didn't cry per se but I howled "injustice!" and didn't eat for a week. :P hehe.
Umm, but very much looking forward to it. :):) Best thing on the veletision. I don't want to look at the who's who though, as it's a bit like ruining it. :P hehe. Must wait for the first episode.

Umm, when Raef got fired, I didn't cry per se but I howled "injustice!" and didn't eat for a week. :P hehe.
LOL!! I thought Raef was generally good, but there was something that was unforgivable about what he did. That episode when he was a group leader.. and he went out with two others and they were basically being very laid back while the other 3 or 4 were working hard with the laundry! Raef even managed to buy coffees.. and brought nothing for the others. Pfft. I actually thought he should have been fired in that epi.
After that, I wasn't fond of him :P Though his personality is okay. Simon and whathisname that won were my favourites. Lol.. I can't believe I forgot his name >.>
And aww.. I missed the comic relief one. Didn't realise there was one until just now. Must watch!
Hehe, yes I loved Lee too. :) I liked Raef, Lee and Lucinda...
And yeah, at first I didn't like how Raef and the other posh boys sort of saw themselves as above doing any work, like at the laundry thing... but I dunno, Raef was just so cool. hehe.
The Comic Relief one was good. :) Jack Dee makes me laugh so much.

I'm not convinced it will outdo the last series (best yet, imo) in terms of contestants; funny moments and all round greatness but hopefully it will :)

I never have got around to watching any of them... I might make an exception this time around though :)
The Comic Relief one was good. :) Jack Dee makes me laugh so much.Haha, yeah that was great; what he said about Nick XD
I don't know if you watched Live at the Apollo but Jack Dee was the best host on that and then they started swapping them :(
Fox: If you watch Come Dine with Me you'd have seen Raef on that too. I love that show but he really took the hobnob on that. Ruined it for me :/
Anyway, The Apprentice, woo yay! It better be as good as the last series, if not better!
Hehe, I don't watch Come Dine With Me, but I did for the Raef episode. :D hehe. And yeah, what Jack Dee said about Nick really made me laugh, and Nick's reaction too. Nick's just the coolest. :)
But ahhhh. And I agree with nh, last year's was definitely one of the best. I really liked Syed from a couple of years ago, too... when he'd always end up in the boardroom, and then just manage to stay in, and then when he was leaving he'd open his suitcase to the camera and he hadn't packed, 'cause he knew that he was okie.
Oh, and if I were db, I'd just skulk around Sainsbury's all day and pounce on whoever it is. If it's Raef, and you're there not even caring, I'll be very very so very jealous. :/ and somewhat angry, too, perhaps maybe.

db, who is it that comes around your Sainsburys? If you don't know, can you find out? I'm nosy XD lol.
TF: You HAVE to watch it. Trust me. You'll love it :))
And yup, I agree.. last years was my fave, too :)
New Series of The Apprentice starts Wednesday 25th March on BBC One at 9pm watch it!
Trying to make sure I remember it with all these other March dates stuck in my head
5 days to go....
Edit: Pfft, will be out that night :(

I think his name is Kevin Shaw. According to this (http://www.unrealitytv.co.uk/the-apprentice/the-apprentice-2008-kevin-shaw/) he comes from Woking so it must be him.

Om di dom dom. I'm being pestered to watch this series so I will watch tonights... I've also been prodded into predicting who will get fired on the bbc website? Apparently you can play this game thing and you get points for each prediction you get right etc. :)
Oh and Raef was on radio one this morning.. :P They rung him up and he was about to shower! :o

He was good when he came back in the last episode to help out the finalists though. Other than that he sucked XD

btw, you can catch the last series on youtube if you wanted :D Series 4. If you like todays one you'll prolly want to go check that out :P Obviously, they're split into parts, but it's well worth it. I was just watching some of the old clips and.. and still reacted with shock, excitement, etc. How sad :| lol.
Ahhh yes I remember Kevin with the Italian restaurant. :P he was a real fool... but it made for very funny viewing. hehe
"For the desserts, maybe we could do... umm... ice-cream... and... well, sometimes instead of a dessert I'll just have a coffee, I think that coffee is a dessert." Yes, Kevin, coffee is a dessert. Umm, and for my main course I will have MILK.

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!! Home in time for Apprentice. Starving... need a quick sammich.
Btw, them two having an affair (whichever two they are) they've ruined it for us already! (Well for me anyway) At least let us watch the episodes THEN tell us what they're getting up to, gawsh :/

26-03-2009, 01:23 PM
Lol, Philip looks waaaay too much like Adam Sandlar O_o
And I think the wrong person went. Deborah shouldn't be there still! But yeah, they all did have reasons in them that could have got them fired. I think Anita could have defended herself better. She could have quite easily have said that if everyone thinks we overspent, why did no one say it at the time? (suddenly they all realised they overspent in the boardroom 'cause that's when Alan said it!) It's like Sir Alan was expecting her to be the only one to notice the mistake. They were ALL silly for thinking the amount they spent was okay. When she gave the figures, the first thing I thought to myself was "good luck trying to make a profit!". How did no one else on the team see that?! God, and they think they're so smart 'cause they've got degrees.
Having said all that, she was a dafty for saying well done to being in budget, lol.
Personally.. I got the impression that Nick wanted to see Deborah gone too...
Anyway, it was an okay epi, but the girls were way too loud, like always. Argh!
/end of rant :P

Personally.. I got the impression that Nick wanted to see Deborah gone too...
Yeah, I got that impression as well. As Sir Alan said, he had his reasons for firing any one of those three. If Deborah wanted to be in charge for that task she should have said something during their leadership delegation, though I reckon she would have been fired if she was project manager.
Anyway, it was an okay epi, but the girls were way too loud, like always. Argh!Hehe, when they were all arguing in the café I did think that if I were the owner I would have said "Umm... get out of my café please."
Hmm yes it was good, the contestants don't seem to be as good as last year's... but I think that it's always the case that opinions change within the first few weeks... last year I liked Alex after the first week. :/ But yeah, I'm sure some people will grow on us. I did like Maj though.

Oddly I find myself wanting to scream at the television again! I put myself through it each year thinking it won't be that bad then i get this kneejerk reaction to the idiocy of some of these "hopefuls" who seem to be all about graduating without common-sense.
Surely one of these people have seen a car being cleaned at some point in their lives, and as for the bickering and backstabing, my ears hurt.
Can't wait till next episode, as the series goes on I warm to these guys as we learn more about them.
I wonder what these guys do for the rest of the week?

Lol. They talk about her facial expressions in the You're Fired (http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00jjn4p/The_Apprentice_Youre_Fired_Series_5_Episode_1/) show. XD It's good that she can joke about herself though :)

... I think Anita could have defended herself better. She could have quite easily have said that if everyone thinks we overspent, why did no one say it at the time? ...
I agree. When she was in the boardroom I was waiting for her to say something along the lines of "no one else seemed to have a problem with it being just below £200 - I don't think the responsibility lies wholly with me". I like her though, after watching her on You're Fired. She seems nice, but maybe not cut out for the The Apprentice because she's too nice, maybe.
I think Anita may have been fired eventually, but I wish it had been Debra who'd gone first, coz she's so ARGH. Makes me pull faces. Debra annoyed me because she seems too cold and harsh. Calling her own team mates puppets =/ Anyway, if they'd done a good job of the car cleaning they would've won by a mile so everyone on that losing sub team is responsible.
And I don't like James. Talks way too much to the camera but doesn't say much to the team. Sneaky sneaky.
Rocky apparently earns more than the salary Sir Alan is currently offering the future apprentice, has no qualifications, and is the youngest in the group. I want to see more of him.

26-03-2009, 07:53 PM
Oh, Debra. Ha. I was spelling her name all wrong. I'd go back and edit my post, but I've already made a fool out of myself XD lol.
When I posted the You're Fired link, I only watched some of it. Just finished watching the rest now. OMG.. the clip they show of all the women nattering/arguing/talking over each other...? Did. My. Head. In. AGAIN!
/me bangs her head against the computer screen.
I'm surprised Sir Alan didn't shout, "SHUT UP!" in the boardroom :|
It would have been nice to see more of Anita, 'cause she comes across as one of those characters that isn't two faced or has some hidden agenda/plan, which a lot of the time some people do on this and it ticks me off :/
All day! I kid you not, I've just been sat around procrastinating and finding *nothing* to do just because I'm waiting for The Apprentice to be on. Come on 9pm!!!
/me suddenly wonders what if a power cut happens?
MrsNerdinator
01-04-2009, 08:28 PM
Then you can come over to mine ;) lol
And watch it online of course, 'cause we don't have a TV. lol.
I hope they put it online straight away (on bbc iplayer), 'cause I hate it when they wait until the next day.. >.>
That was such a cringe worthy episode! Hilarious thanks to Margaret and Nick as always. Erm, James pssing himself.. what?!
I'm so glad the women's team won (oops if you've not seen it yet! :p) and I felt Yasmina did a brilliant job as team leader. She got all the main bits right even if the food did look like slop :/ She had others to help prep the food so she wasn't entirely to blame.
Next week's episode looks good... one of the blokes spanked his own bum on a pitch!! Welp.

That was the best line in the programme.
MrsNerdinator
02-04-2009, 05:00 PM
And that line came out even funnier on the You're Fired show, heh. God, if any of you don't watch it, I suggest watching it! It's always so comical. Oh, and Nick was on the panel this time. Still always looks so cross, lol!
I'm sad to see Rocky go.. 'cause he had this sort of maturity to him that I liked. One of the sort of people who just gets down to the business - and not in a rude/disrespectful way either.
My God, James, James, James.. that guy really does just say the wrong things.. lol! Especially those comments about him peeing in the boardroom :S (refer to the You're Fired show). Good God! :|

Today's epi:
And apparently there's a racism row going on at the moment with Yasmina, 'cause of a comment where she suggests that an advert shouldn't have two ethnic minority people in it (Mona and one of the asian guys, forgot his name) - there should be one white person. From what I read, it comes across as Debra is the one that speaks up against it and finds it appalling. If she does, I'll have changed my views about her :P Not enough people stand up to racism, sadly. I like it in general when people stand up to anything that is wrong.
Wehey, yay, apprentice! Boo Maj went! Boo James stayed. To be fair Maj was laid back but I still don't think he deserved to go. He made a really good point of saying he could only do what the project manager asked of him and he did his job. I think there's always one peron like that and I have always wondered about how it's not always them who get the boot.
I really dislike James, he talks too much and he's such a sulker!! Plus he's a peepeepants.
Debra's growing on me even though she was a bit dippy today and got that whole racial thing wrong... Yasmina was basically saying she's like to see a black, Asian and white person on their poster and Debra turned that into a "I wouldn't like it if someone said my child couldn't take part in something because they were black!" What?! Yasmina was't saying that :|
Overall she was a good, strong project manager but like they said on the you're fired show, if it was her team that lost she would've been fired because of how much control she had. She basically left no room for anyone else to get the blame for anything. I think Debra will be one of the last ones in there and I'll be shocked if she leaves any time soon.
I'd like to see Phil in the final rounds, he's seems like a really nice guy and it was cute seeing him and Maj in the little clips hehe. Plus what he said about Lorraine was really nice and it's good see not everyone's pointing out people bad points. But honestly, I was really cringing at Lorraine's pitches.
Can't wait for next week's ep, looks good!
db1986
08-04-2009, 11:01 PM
I completely agree AJ, how did James stay? OK, Maj didn't do much work, but James didn't make the right decisions. James seems quite arrogant, heh, but nowhere near as arrogant as Debra.
Your failure is my success
Saying that, I can see she really wants this job, but there's no need convey that sentence nastily.
I was really cringing at Lorraine's pitches.
I cringed at Ben slapping his bum o.0
Majid! Maj my angel! INJUSTICE!!
/me thrashes and howls.
But yeah, I don't suppose I mind that much. :/ Philip is good, and yeah I did think that Debra was being a bit off about the thing with the poster. Besides, they were OBVIOUSLY using race as an excuse; they just thought that Noorul was a bit funny-looking but didn't want to say in front of him. Well, not funny-looking but... he LOOKS like a science teacher, not a fitness person.
Ben really annoyed me, actually. With the whole "macho man" thing, when he's a merry little stockbroker.
I cringed at Ben slapping his bum o.0
Haha, oh yes, how could I forget! And Howard.. "Can I just suggest that you don't slap you're own arse?" Ben's so up himself btw and so rude when it came to talking about the other Apprentices' sizes :o

Yasmina was basically saying she's like to see a black, Asian and white person on their poster
I agree that's what she was saying, and it was taken wrongly, but I actually think the real reason she said it was because she didn't want to say "I don't want Noorul on the poster because he looks too wimpy to advertise excerise things." which seemed to be what they were getting at before the phone call.
edit: also - Lorraines pitch where she said something like "and their children can use it to keep a...stable...stability" made me laugh a bit. Might have been the practice pitch, I can't remember.
Ahhh yes her pitch was so bad when she was rehearsing. The stable stability made me laugh. I'd like to see how big her handbag is too if she can carry that around in it.
I agree that's what she was saying, and it was taken wrongly, but I actually think the real reason she said it was because she didn't want to say "I don't want Noorul on the poster because he looks to wimpy to advertise excerise things." which seemed to be what they were getting at before the phone call.
That was really confusing actually. Mona said she "you girls agree with me" and then said Noorul shouldn't be on the poster but then Yasmina said "we've got a really good looking bloke so why aren't we using him". Seems they couldn't make their mind up about him. Noorul reminds me of Snoopy. He's like a little pet, in a nice way of course.. :s
edit: also - Lorraines pitch where she said something like "and their children can use it to keep a stable...stability" made me laugh a bit.Haha, yeah! What on Earth? Debra's face after that was like "Can you even hear yourself talking?!" Lorraine really did pull herself together and her final pitch was better than her first.
Oh, one last thing... I went to watch the "You're Fired" thing (i.e. "The Chiles Programme") but when they were introducing the panelists and said "Carol Malone" it was a case of TV OFF, no thanks. :P Can't stand her. I can't watch The Wright Stuff when she's on.
:O You turned it off because of her?! That other woman's much worse, ya know, the one with the teeth and hair. *smacks head* Can't for the life of me remember her name >_<
Edit: Lowri Turner!! And ugh, Carol Thatcher.

"Carol Malone" it was a case of TV OFF, no thanks. :P Can't stand her. I can't watch The Wright Stuff when she's on.
Yeah, she's annoying but as far as guests on TWS go she's one of the less annoying of the annoying women regularly on. She's easily beaten by Lowri Turner, Dr. Miriam Stoppard and that woman who claims to know about bringing up children and gives out stupid advice. Those people CANNOT be on it without annoying me. Carol Thatcher is ok sometimes, but can be a bit annoying - no where near those other three.
More Gail Porter please.
Yeah, Lowri Turner is clearly the worst. :/ Can't stand her at all. But she's on so ruddy often it'd be impractical to turn off for her every time. I think that Carol Malone had said something that particularly annoyed me... probably blaming something on working class kids or something when it had nothing to do with it. Perhaps natural disasters or something. But yeah, that Lowri really annoys me. So ready to shout and argue when she just doesn't know what she's talking about.

Maj, well, he did seem a bit too chilled out, and not confident enough. The others seemed to ignore him when he did want to say something.
Him and Phil being all cutesy was funny though :D
I'm wondering if some of them are gay actually :p
Debra needs to goooo. So bossy and so convinced that she's always in the right(!!)
I got the impression Mona and co didn't want Noorul in the ad because he didn't look buff enough, but didn't want him to feel hurt, so they tried to give another reason.

Urgh.. ignore my last post. The article that I read about the "racism row" before it was even aired was just so over dramatic, it's unbelievable! From that, I got the impression that there was a racist comment or something. It wasn't even all that. They didn't want Noorul 'cause he may not have been as good looking as Phil (as they say), butttt... I think he did a good job of demonstrating what the actual product was. Far better a job than Mona did.
Phil was outstanding in that task - to come up with the design last minute. I actually thought it was pretty darn cool.
The whole Phil and Maj relationship was cute. Reminded me of Tre and Simon.
I didn't want Maj to go 'cause he added some entertainment. Everyone else seems pretty boring. It's a shame there isn't another Tre character, lol (minus all his swearing which irritated me to no end!)
Ya know.. I think Maj did good in the first task. He wasn't a 'passenger' all three weeks. I tell ya who was though.. the woman from NY. And she was yet again this week. I wonder if she was in the boardroom.. would she have been fired for the same reasons as Maj was? Or would James be the one leaving if she was in there? Did Margaret stick up for James 'cause she just didn't want Maj there? I believe deep down inside that James isn't the sort of character that Sir Alan would even want working with his team...
I've read several comments from other boards where people have always suggested that they reckon Margaret is a "closet racist", 'cause she's had problems in the past with Sayed, Tre and now they reckon she had a thing against Maj too. Of course, it's a big accusation to make, and I'm definitely not calling her a racist. Just that people seem to have picked up on this and there are debates about it.
I don't mind now so much that Maj left. I just think James shouldn't be there though. I got the impression that he was a pretty poor leader. I think James contributed to the failure of tasks, whereas Maj didn't 'cause he didn't have as much of a role in order to create a failure. And lol.. he really is laid back O_o
storm
09-04-2009, 11:42 PM
It really is a big accusation to make to suggest that Margaret is racist. I can see why Maj had to go - like one of the candidates said - he's funny, which is good, but it's not a an essential quality for an apprentice. I didn't think that she had a problem with Maj as such, but that she did see a different side to James that was not portrayed in the series to the public.
I can imagine him being (as she said) very encouraging and positive, although, granted, possibly to the detriment of the team... I saw James' point about not saying the design was ♥♥♥♥ when he first saw it, because that would've been pretty demoralising. It would've been OK for anyone else in the team to say it, but when you're the team leader, you have to keep a positive front up.
I still don't like James though, because he talks too much, and by God, what grown man would admit on TV that he pee'd on a chair in the boardroom on The Apprentice?!?! Embarrassing to know!

I have to say the catering task was absolute crap, ive prepared better food than that on my house parties.
Half empty silver trays no garnish ect how amature.
Im sorry but reality tv really does make people look stupid, the production involved here proberly did most of that planning ect, these people who apply for this show so desperatly want a job with sir alan that they go along with anything from the production company ect very sad.
Im not talking for effect here either i work in this field and belive me i know, when will the public learn about this lol i mean a 100,000 a year wage isnt being given away for nothing the programme makers want a show first and the contestants are the guina pigs who raise the rateings for them and then sir alan take a huge cut of the cake mmmmmm.
But i do love to watch it, i find the comic value second to none lol.

Firstly, after Nick drops the bombshell on Paula's team for spending over £700... "Well, I'll leave you to it" Hahaha! I love him to bits.
I think it's kind of a shame that Paula went but to be fair, why was she working out the cost, why didn't she say "Ben come here and help Yasmina work this out"? That was a major stuff up but her product did look the bee's knees (which couldn't be said for Noorul's product!) Paula's product looked like something out of Lush or Body Shop and I would have tried it.
Ben's so up himself, but after the You're Fired clips and all that stuff with James, I think I want them two to stay in it for entertainment value now. Debra let me down today, she was a good girl. No cat fights :(
If Noorul's team lost he would have been fired without fail. There would have been no need to take anyone else into the boardroom. As a chemist his soap should have looked like the losing team's; why didn't they just use pure honey instead of the honey comb??! His sales were crap, his leading skills were crap. He shouldn't be in there.
Yasmina admitting to crappngon everyone was funny/weird. But hey, at least she's honest. And I think it was quite cute how Paula corrected Adrian on the You're Fired show and said "we are friends" aww.
Nick ftw!!
I think that Nick should get hired again because he's clearly the best. Nick should win every year. The "I'll leave that with you" or whatever it was really made me laugh.
And I don't really find Ben that entertaining. :/ I think that he's a horrible and pugnacious little bugger and he needs to get some manners and then shut up anyway. I quite liked him in the first week but he's so unpleasant and rude. Can't stand him. PLUS HE'S NOT EVEN GOOD at stuff.
James has grown on me, a bit. He's alright. Philip is my guy now, though. And yeah, if Noorul had lost, which he was lucky not to have, he should and nigh on certainly would have been gone. I think that he's nice enough, but he didn't show anything to say that he ought to be there.

Hahaha, Episode 4 was hilarious! Sooo many funny moments xD
+ Yasmina's "No, half of 450... ♥♥♥♥".
+ Nick's "Anyway, I'll leave it with you"
+ The shock on the the girls' faces (lool @ Kate)
+ Ben's "Well, let's talk about £5 and £700 if you want to talk about idiots"
+ Philip's "The big question is - who's he gonna sake"
+ Yasmina's "That was a mistake I made, I shouldn't be judged on those mistakes, but I should be judged on how I deal with those mistakes... okay?" and Sir Alan's expression at that tone and that 'okay'. (Paula could have used this exact reason to defend herself but she didn't).
+ Ben's "and I've also got a scholarship to Sandhurst" (like wth does that have to do with anything xD)
You're Fired (eek, just typo'ed that as "You're Fried")
+ Paula: "I nearly did a James in there and wee'd"
+ Paula (on how tall Debra is): "6 foot...7 with her mouth open"
+ Adrian on Sir Alan's reaction to the soap "...and then Sir Alan gets completely confused" *beep beep beep beep* xD
+ Ben "Words can't describe how much I want this. I'm going to rip people limb from limb to get there"
Too bad Paula had to go... she was nice. I think Yasmina might be in for a long while, if she doesn't stuff up the next task. Noorul should've goneeee. He was so weak. The only reason they won was because Paula's team chose sandalwood instead of cedarwood. Sandalwood does smell gorgeous though. <3

Yes, Noorul was at his most pathetic so far this week. He's just really not up to it... a bit out of his depth. One of the main problems he seemed to have was being unable to make decisions.
I think it might have been better if Nick hadn't mentioned the mistake with the costs, and they only found out in the boardroom. Probably not though, since we'd have missed out on the funny scene.
Ben's "and I've also got a scholarship to Sandhurst" (like wth does that have to do with anything xD)
The clip of that they showed on You're Fired was funny.
"I got a scholarship to Sandhurst"
"Yeah? Did you go?"
"Nope."

*sigh* I'm sad to see Paula go. Mostly because I think she did really, really well in that task. Okay, she was made a terrible mistake.. but then one also has to take into consideration that she was a good team leader, a good team player, came up with a great name for the product, and did a great job at the design/production of it (I think she pretty much did that part on her own). It's just a shame that the mistake that she made was just so huge that it cost them :( Honestly, I have to say that has been one of the most unfortunate ways of being fired so far :(
No, Fox.. We know you love Raef, but he was fired justly :P
I honestly believe that if Yasmina hadn't done well in two other previous tasks, then she would have been fired. I believe that's why he kept her there. At one point he looked a bit undecided and I thought he was going to say "I'm not firing any of you".. lol. BRING BACK PAULA!
Btw.. the next time someone boasts about their education.. they are gonna get a kick in the face. What is up with that?! I personally want a special apprentice where candidates are chosen who don't have any qualifications and have been successful through other means. That would be awesome.

... I personally want a special apprentice ...
When I read that, I first though, an apprentice with learning difficulties?
An apprentice like that might be interesting... imagine if all the candidates had some kind of impairment/syndrome and had to do sales pitches/create a business product/offer a service... and just generally go through an intense business-themed reality show. I think that might open my eyes a bit. Kind of like Britain's Missing Top Model. An apprentice for people who are generally cast aside blindly because people are afraid that hiring someone with a problem will be more detrimental to their organisation than beneficial. I think it might show that impairments don't necessarily impede someone, and they shouldn't be defined by their disability (which is why Tahlia on ANTM annoyed me soo much, all she ever did was whinge about how "I am a burn survivor" like that was her only identity. If she didn't have those burns, would she be a nobody??).
But then people would pounce on it for political incorrectness or something, I suppose.

Ah, just watched this week's task.
I don't mind that Kimberly left, as she didn't seem to be contributing much over the weeks, but I'm a little miffed Lorraine was targeted as being such a downer. She was the only one who spoke any sense in the task I thought. If she didn't like the idea, that's OK -- I don't know why people thought the pants idea was a good one. Humour - yes. But that was a weird concept for a breakfast cereal. And the logic was flawed... why would you have a superhero no one wants to be? ¬_¬
The Treasure Flakes idea was brill. Loved it! The design was good too. Lol @ "I have a nut allergy" xD
Philip and Kate... :s Eeek. That was a surprise to me as I hadn't seen any hint of it in the tasks. Weird.
James is starting to slowly grow on me because he's like a little boy, which is sort of cute. "I feel like a monkey learning to use tools" lol.
Noorul got away again!! Arrrrgh, we have another Michael! I don't think he'll go next week, he'll go the week after. Blace your pets, place your bets!! The fact that he wasn't heard and then hidden by Kimberly was hilarious.
Margaret was well impressed with the Treasure flakes team, did you see her face in the boardroom?? She even raised an eyebrow!
Halfway through the show I wanted to slap Lorraine, she wouldn't shut up and she wouldn't stop whining but she was right, the idea was pants and I'm glad she didn't go with it.
I think perhaps she did drain energy from the group but that is a really rubbish reason to use in the boardroom. I am shocked at how Alan thought maybe she was covering her own backside, but seriously, if that was really the case would she have spoken against Kimberly straight away? Don't think so.
Lorraine's so stroppy too, her lips turn down and she rarely smiles, she was so depressing to watch. Anyone would think her goldfish had died.
As for Phil and Kate, to mention it then means that the episode of You're Fired was filmed ages ago. Possibly before The Apprentice even started because that's when we heard all the rumours about them. I ignored it then but only looked at the names the week Mj was fired. I figured by then we already knew what most the people were like. And yeah, Phil + Kate = odd combo O.o

There's no winning, is there. If someone speaks out against a bad idea, it's being disruptive. If someone doesn't speak out, they're not participating.
Maybe it was just her method of speaking up. To be fair, I can relate. I can be a wedgie at times and if I start a petty row with someone (it happens!) then it can be very draining for the other person. Even if it's a simple disagreement it can lead to an argument without that even being the intention. If she said "look guys, Pantsman is an awful idea, please let's change it now while we still have a chance" then that would have been much better. But by the sounds of it Pantsman was their only idea
Btw, Noorul claimed in the boardroom that he put ideas forward; where and what were they? Did he or anyone else suggest something/someone other than pantsman? We never heard about it. The brainstorm was the failure for that team, I think they all lacked creativity.

I agree.....however i think we have to remember that each episode is very cleverly edited, so he probably did actually stuff but we just never saw it.
Obviously his ideas weren't good enough to be shown!
Mona's pitch at the end was absolutely awful. I don't think even she knew what she was talking about!
I didn't like James at the start, however he is now growing on me. He did very well in this task and came up with great ideas.

Lol, you dork. You are so mean :P
He was a reeeeally bad candidate. But had a good personality.
Ya know, something I think when it comes to Ben is that he is soooo rude sometimes in the boardroom and behind the camera (in private) about other people.. but when it comes to doing the actual tasks, he works really well and does get his work done, and works well in a team. That's probably what Sandhurst saw in him..
/me laughs
Does anyone find him going on about that, almost as annoying as Alex last year going on about being "only 24"? -_-
I still want Paula back! I think she would have had a lot more to offer :( Would have preferred if Yasmina went instead of her. I just think Paula went too soon. She did so much good in that task.. it's just a shame that the other two didn't do anything "seriously bad" in order for Sir Alan to fire them instead >_<
Okay, okay, I'll get over it :P
I was seriously shocked by the way Deborah spoke out to Nick last week. :o
:o Oh yeah I intended to make a massive deal of how rude Debra was to Nick but I forgot about it, but yeah I'll say it now. HOW COULD SHE? :( He's the cutest and coolest guy, I don't understand how she could speak to him like that. I'm glad that Sir Alan stood up for him and told her off. :) If he didn't then I wouldn't have gone down there and done it myself. Umm, but I probably wouldn't have told Debra off due to fear, but I'd have comforted Nick afterwards. "Don't listen to her, Nick, what does she know? ...Hug?"
And yeah, Noorul was right to go. I think it's funny that Howard has managed to push the "staying out of they way" thing SO MUCH that they've forgotten to fire him. :) Obviously it could just be editing though.
Ahhh I can't like Ben, he's just too mean and Sandhursty. I think that James is my favourite now. :) hehe. More than anything just for the things that they show him saying on the Chiles Programme. "Noorul gives me the heebie-jeebies. Sometimes I look at him, and he's just staring into space, and you can tell that he's just thinking about who he's going to eat next." Hehe, yeah, James. I wouldn't really expect him to win, but I want him to stick around, he says so many strange and funny things.
OH and yeah, last week made me laugh with
"Does anyone want to buy a skeleton?"
"I'll give you one-hundred sixty-five pounds sterling for it, sir!" or something like that. Whatever it was, who knew that it was so easy to sell a skeleton in a bar at lunch time?

Never watched these before really, but I was bored and Virgin have taken away my Programmes-On-Demand service (for a reason I will ascertain when I phone them to have a bit of a grumble - that service was awesome) so I watched all the episodes on Catch-up-Tv-On-Demand (which I still have) and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Ah, yes, Debra. I thought it was good that she didn't mind questionning Nick - she seemed genuinely shocked that he thought she didn't do anything. Good on her for standing up for herself, although I found her shock quite funny (coz I don't like her, so I'm glad to see she was upset). Sir Alan's comeback "don't talk to him like he's a second class citizen" made me lol xD

Snap! James is opening up a bit now and settling in I think. He's now comfortable with this environment he's been thrown into. He still has his moments where he just lets things fly out his mouth and it makes him annoying eg when Ben said he'd take him into the boardroom but his reaction to this:
Sir Alan: "I'm not sure whether there's a village missing an idiot somewhere?" (About James) was hilarious. He didn't know how to react and the look on his face was like "should I thank him or should I be insulted?" Haha XD
hahhah! I loved that! He's so cute sometimes, James... when he's not wetting himself he's worried about people eating him <3
I do hope James continues to show his daft side. It's pure entertainment. Him and Debra need to be kept in for as long as possible for entertainment value but neither deserve to win imho.
When they did the bit where they go around asking the candidates what they think of other candidates, someone should've gone "Who's Noorul?" ;PLmao, I wondered that about Lorraine when she suddenly popped up the week before last. I didn't know she existed :$
Aaaaaaaand, I'm so sure I saw Kate today. She was in our doctors surgery and signed in to have a meeting with all the doctors. That might explain why there were NINE docotors "working" today. If it was Kate and if a person off the telly is what it takes to make our doctors attend work, then chuck a celeb in every day! It sounded like her, looked like her and she had this big portfolio case thing with her, I assume it was filled with medical supplies? Plus all the receptionists made a huge noise when they saw her. *shrug*

Lolcats came to mind.
And OMG! I couldn't watch, I was so sure Lorraine was gonna get fired and I was getting ready to yell at the tv, in Foxy pumpkin style "INJUSTICE!!" I honestly had my eyes covered :embarrassed:
I'm so proud of Lorraine for playing the Phil and Kate card. Them two were clearly distracted and they did let a relationship get in the way of their work. Neither seemed bothered by the task and Phile truly did think he could stay in by running Lorraine down and making her seem like a poor competitor.
Kate and Phil were constantly defending each other in the boardroom. At one point Phil was saying "Me and Kate could have sold more than Lorraine" and I felt sorry for Ben, he was obviously being excluded from that and it's only because Phil and Kate fancy each other. If I was Ben I'd have asked in the boardroom "What about me? Wouldn't I have been good at selling?" They really did just look out for each other and completely forgot about Ben.
Lorraine I feel is becoming stronger each week now. She's had to defend herself a lot more and even though Phil's gone, Kate's gonna start attacking her I think. Lorraine might "alienate" people but she's almost always got the right idea. She might run people down and struggle to get her point across and for her sake she needs to work on being less annoying towards others; then and only then she can go far.
I LOVE James to bits. Bless his heart, he's so cute and seems to be so dippy xD

Oh my God, that was the most nail-biting elimination I've watched yet! Was soo nervous
Lol at Sir Alan at the start, "I don't want anyone saying "oh Sir Alan, I was doing marketing"" xD
I didn't think Lorraine would get fired though, because the way Philip kept going on and on and on and on and on (you get the idea) about her and putting her down, it was apparent he was just digging himself in deeper and deeper.
I really wasn't sure about Phil from the start, because sometimes he seemed quite supportive (in one of the episodes he really did support Lorraine genuinely), but then he seemed to sort of turn on her in later episodes. I think that happened when he and Kate started having a thing. He really got his personal life and business life mixed up.
Kate is obviously a very clever one (in more than one way), and like Yasmina predicted, would have turned on Phil in a second. (Oooh, just realized that has a double meaning xD) She reminds me of a chihuahua though... when Sir Alan or Nick are talking to her she's like "yep. yep. yep yep yep yip yip yip."
I'm so glad Phil's gone, but Lorraine bringing them up in the boardroom I think might affect the relationship between Lorraine and Kate. Kate was really looking daggers at her O.O
I'm surprised Ben had the sense to shut up and let Lorraine, Philip and Kate fight it out.
Phew, what an epi xD

Actually, I haven't been here since Phil went. Yeah, I was tempted to have a bit of an "INJUSTICE!" too, but to be honest you could sort of see him firing himself all the time that he was in the boardroom. It IS unjust that Mona and Howard are still there (although Mona did really well this week) when Phil's gone.
I really don't know how Lorraine is still there, when it's so obvious that she's impossible to work with. Plus ever since Margaret said that she sometimes knows better than some of her team, Lorraine's been spouting out about "instincts" and "feelings" and that as if she's clairvoyant or something. Does she REALLY think that knowing that Pantsman was a bad idea somehow makes her a genius? Ohhh because we were all thinking "yep I'd buy that cereal on the basis of Pantsman".

OMG! Thank you! That annoyed me so much! She was good in the episode, but I hated that she thinks she's got this natural instinct now. She keeps going on about it, and it's almost as bad as Ben going on about Standhurst. And I have a feeling if she keeps it up, it'll get her in to trouble - where she'll let it go to her head.
I wouldn't say Lorraine is impossible to work with. The only person who was well and truly having a problem with her was Phil, and Kate started to join in (especially in the taxi) 'cause I think she was just going with the flow in the moment (i.e. to just join in with what Phil felt).
I'm glad Phil went. He was just sooo rude this week. I think we all saw the real side of him.

Ow! NO! NOOOO! Mona! :(
I hate you Alan Sugar!
Seriously, what was he thinking?! Mona should NOT have gone. I'm starting to think if he sticks people in there for longer for the entertainment value -_-
Why did they fail the task?
1. The leaflet was incomplete (due to Debra's half of the team)
2. The poster was poop (due to Debra's half of the team)
Um... so.. I know.. let's fire Mona instead! ARGH!
I don't know about the rest of you, but I actually think he was too harsh to Mona. Especially about the comments he said about Nick and Marg saying that she doesn't have any ideas or something.. can't remember. She was actually one of my favourites :( She was ballsy (when she spoke up against Kim) and this week she was against the gay idea and came up with the family one (she wasn't just following the crowd). And she's proven to be a good team player in other tasks. As well as selling really well previously.
Yeah, okay.. Sir Alan can't really see her fit in anywhere and thinks she's only good at selling.. but come on.. is that really a reason for firing her instead of Debra, who was, in fact, the main reason why they lost!? I know Mona's heart wasn't into it too much this week, but she got her part of the job done. Them losing wasn't down to her attitude! Grr.
I think he'll soon fire Debra with the reasons being that he can't have someone with her personality in his work environments. There is no way that I can see him hire her! So why didn't he just get rid of her this week?! >_<
Bring back Paula and Mona :(

Yeah I kind of miss Paula. I liked her hair :P
I don't mind that Mona's gone really, I'm just a little worried for the other candidates that they have to work with Debra.
I LOL'ed at James in the boardroom when he described Debra:
James: She's like a bulldog... but she's consistent
Sir Alan: She's a consistent bulldog?
James: Yeah
I find James is not doing as much in tasks these days. At the start he seemed to be really into it, and now he seems to just be letting other people take the lead. I like him for his comic value, but I think it's unfair that Sir Alan says he's just a 'court jester'. I think he's good... but maybe the tasks - or the show even - isn't bringing out the best in him.
Yasmina again proved that she could be a good team leader, although she wasn't as slick this time as she was the first time.
I want to see James and Howard lead opposing teams. That would be interesting, I think.

I watched this episode last night with much interest - simply as Margate is right next door to me. I liked the 'gay' better than the 'family', as Margate desperately needs to shed its image of the down market bucket and spade brigade. There is nothing for families in Margate anymore - so the team with the 'gay' idea certainly did embrace the task of rebranding (and on a personal note - this can only do the place some good - but that is another debate).
How they failed then... and quite spectacularly too. Such a brilliant concept but poorly delivered, rushed and downright slap dash. The team leader should have got the leaflet at least drafted and worded correctly (through her own research too - it wouldn't have hurt her!) instead of pointing fingers and making very poor excuses and lies (not reasons) as to why there was so much blank space. No wonder the committee saw through it!
The 'family' team were a lot more dynamic, but that mouthy one (don't know her name... :S)... wow, I could have quite happily stuck a 99 in her big trap. She is so patronising and definitely not a team-player (but again... I have only watched one episode so maybe that is a little unfair :S)
Mona shouldn't have gone - the Team Leader should have. However, Mona should also learn to be impartial and I think that her downfall was that she did show a lack of commitment (which at times was toe curling embarrassing - i.e.: when she spoke to the transgender male).
Ughh... I sadly feel that I may have to watch next week's one now (lol)
I don't mind that Mona has gone... must of the time she didn't seem to have much to offer, but I think that there are people who should have gone instead... Debra, basically. And Lorraine, but her team won. Mona did well last week, aside from that she didn't do much. With pitching and such, I think that she probably had a NEGATIVE effect, rather no effect. "And the cereal tells you to put your pants on under your trousers, because you can't wear them over. ONLY PANTSMAN GETS TO WEAR HIS PANTS OVER HIS TROUSERS."
As soon as they showed the gay team's publications, the poster and that, I just knew that they would lose... it was all so ugly... bad fonts, bad layout, bad colours. I was wondering... do the computer people that the teams are given always have the same imput... or could one team get lucky and receive a computer person with initiative who will pretty much do it for them? I dunno who on the other team made the fancy logo and did the prettier posters. It was probably Ben, he seemed to be very good at framing images and that. *bangs head on TV* As if he couldn't see what things would look like without putting his hands in a little square position.
OH AND I THINK that Lorraine was awful and impossible to work with AGAIN. She's unbearable. She doesn't need firing, just kicking or something. Plus the FIRST THING that she said in the episode was "well, my natural instinct tells me that" or something to that effect. Shut your hoop of a clack, Mystic Meg.
The gay team definitely should have won, if they hadn't had such bad publications, and Howard's pitch could have been better... although he did better than I expected. Apart from,
"I have one question for you... do you know Margate?"
"Yes."
"... good."
Heh, surely he could have given a better response than that... like "Do you really? WELL..." and then talk about the gay things. The family team hadn't really rebranded anything... they just got lucky in having a good geek who was better at making their posters for them. Oh, and they had Ben's excellent hand-gesture-photography skills.

I watched this episode last night with much interest - simply as Margate is right next door to me.
Lmao, I read that as "margaret" heh.. I was like.. wow, she lives next door to her? :O
Clearly I've had too much Lucozade :(
Mona shouldn't have gone - the Team Leader should have.
Thank you! Worse still, in the You're Fired show, they put james down as the one that 'Got away' (from being fired!). No! It was Debra that got away!
Yasmina again proved that she could be a good team leader, although she wasn't as slick this time as she was the first time.
Yeah, Yasmina is good. I just wish she'd smile more or something. Smile, Yasmina! Smile!
In Mona's defense, I actually think Kim added to her pitch getting messed up. She was so confusing and annoying! Wanted Mona to do the write up for the pitch, but at the same time she was getting far too involved and stroppy about it. Bad Kim. But yah, bad pitch for Mona :/
Plus the FIRST THING that she said in the episode was "well, my natural instinct tells me that" or something to that effect. Shut your hoop of a clack, Mystic Meg.
Oh God! And have you seen the clip for next week's epi? You hear Lorraine say "my instinct is" (about a push chair, or something) :O NO! God no! Not again! I'm being serious.. seriously, she says it again -_- She's let that get to her head, man...

Nerdy... do ya have psychic powers or something
Clearly, too much Lucozade may be the least of your worries - lol
Ahah, I read it as that too, just for a split-second. HOW DID YOU NOT TELL ME, I would have been around for tea and biscuits and that, but no, it was Margate. Alas. :(

Maybe she has a "natural instinct" like Lorraine.
I swear someone said Margaret in their pitch too.
Today's Apprentice should be cute... and funny if you've seen what James does lol. They're at a baby show in Earl's court... no, not where you watch babies! But the place you go to where you can check out all cool baby gadgets and everything a baby needs when growing up. And things for the parents too. We were gonna go to that one funnily enough for Nerdy and her baby but I think everything was already bought from the baby show over the summer.
Lorraine mentions her instincts again in today's episode, now I know she's a mum and stuff but if she gets this one all wrong then I reckon she'll be gone. Last week she was a fuss pot for no reason and I think that pee'd off Yasmina and others. If she just learns to keep her trap shut when needed she could go far!

OMG to be as lucky as deborah.
She has had more lives than a cat, and she really dosent deserve to still be there.
I dont think she will win, but i do think we will see more of her in the tabloids once shes out, she seems like the type to sell a good meaty story.
I agree ben did hype himself far to much bless his heart, to do that you need to be dynamic in front of an icon like sir alan.
Anyway i still say yasmina to win.
When they walking into that little shop with all of the wooden toys... and there was the grey-haired man just rocking on the horse in the little alcove... that was one of the creepiest things that I've witnessed. Except, perhaps, for when the birthing pool lady advised Lorraine to put her hand between her legs, convincing her with the words "it's quite nice, really". Or something to that extent. Heavens.
Ben sort of did make for good viewing... he was certainly a central character and always had some impact on the events of the show... can't be too sad to see him go though because I genuinely believe that he's an odious and overly pugnacious creature.
Come on, James. :):)
Oh, and the shopping channel task next week. :) I like this one. I want them to do the "here's £100, whoever comes back with the most amount of profit wins". He didn't say most amount this week, just most. :(
When they walking into that little shop with all of the wooden toys... and there was the grey-haired man just rocking on the horse in the little alcove... that was one of the creepiest things that I've witnessed.
Yeah, I thought the same. Why would an old man just sit in his shop rocking on a horse all day...? Unless the camera crew asked him to do that? :|
Except, perhaps, for when the birthing pool lady advised Lorraine to put her hand between her legs, convincing her with the words "it's quite nice, really". Or something to that extent. Heavens.
I am SO glad Lorraine didn't touch between her legs. I doubt she'd have been able to live that one down and it would have been worse than James peeing himself in the boardroom. That American lady had some serious guts... especially when she said "it's quite nice, really"...
As much as I'm not a fan of Ben, I still think Debra should have gone. It was her idea to sell the horse and when James asked her which product OTHER THAN the horse would she sell she says "horse" She clearly doesn't understand English. Margaret, Nick and Alan don't like her so why the heck is she still in there?!
I love James to bits, I really don't want him to get fired cos I'm too scared he'll cry. He's so funny and they even showed Margaret laughing at him hysterically in the You're Fired show.
Yasmina's really good and I like the way she spoke to Debra in the boardroom. Really put her in her place I think.
Lorraine performed really well today but she could have worked out how to use the pushchair a bit better! Oh, and I like the way Lorraine and Kate said it was a prototype yet there was another stall selling their model of the puschair. How were they supposed to know it was already out there if they were told it was "new" and why didn't the person who sold it to them offer them the same price they gave it to the others? That was unfair and not their fault imho but I they still won, so they did well.
How may go through to the interview rounds? Four? My choices would be Lorraine, Kate, Yasmina and James.
Howard's a spare part now and Debra's - pfft, well...
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention... it made me so angry (and I mean genuinely angry) when Debra was completely lying in the boardroom about the 'phone conversation about the choice of product. She was saying to Sir Alan "we gave James the choice of the items, and we said that the horse was nice but the lower risk items might have been better", and she was saying it as if she just gave her opinions on all of the products and it was James's choice. In reality, James needed to keep asking her before she even mentioned her second choice, and even then she said "but I don't want to go for anything but the horse". Really angered me, that did.
Lorraine didn't annoy me as much this week as she normally does. Yeah, she had some more of her natural instincts. Sometimes it's better to ignore the voices within you, and instead listen to those around you... most of which are saying "shut your hoop of a clack".
As a side note... I just wondered "does the phrase hoop of a clack actually exist, or is that one just me?" I think that it's a good one and it's fairly obvious what it means, hopefully... so I googled it, and the only result that I got was me, in this thread, also about Lorraine. :P
Debra has to go soon. My natural instinct tells that the final will feature Kate, Yasmina, Lorraine and James. I just typed that and then realised that that's the same as what you said, AJ... I can't see Howard continuing to fluke his way through, though, and Debra is just far too abrasive. Imagine turning on the shopping channel to buy some Egyptian cotton pillowcases, and being greeted by her cold. Dead. Face.
I'm going to choose to believe that the old man in the toy shop rides on his horses all day of his own volition, only stopping when he gets too tired to continue and must take a short break to eat a jam sandwich, washed down with milk; pint of.
Howard has *nothing* to offer. What spectacular thing has he done and how does he stand out from the rest? Him fluking his way to final rounds will just be a waste of a position.

Haha, just watched You're Fired. Was hilarious :D
"Let me finish..."
I liked Ben in You're Fired, although not in so much in the task. Too bad he's had to go. Debra should've gone. She seems quite happy being who she is, so I don't think she's going to change her character like everyone wants her to.
LOLOL at James describing what being a project manager for the first time would be like :embarrassed:  I think Sir Alan sees James' funny side too much, and his business side less. I think James is actually a good business person. He's not aggressive but I think that's OK.
lol at Debra being an android xD
Ahh, I'm sure Yasmina, Kate and Lorraine will make it to the interview round. I think the battle will be between James and Howard. Not seen much of Howard yet, but I expect/hope he'll be made team leader in the next task by Sir Alan, so we can see what he can do.

That's why he's kept her in, because obviously if Margaret and Nick don't like her, then it's just Sir Alan, and he had a great opportunity this week, but didn't. So yeah. A few sides of Yasmina that they don't really show on tv..
http://www.bbc.co.uk/apprentice/episode-extras/video/item_200146.shtml
Kate should said, "will you please let me finish!" (Ah, Ben)
And then there's this:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/apprentice/episode-extras/video/item_200144.shtml
I actually thought Lorraine wasn't being that bad. Yasmina was the one that was losing it a bit...
And then there's this from last week.. Funny old James (http://www.bbc.co.uk/apprentice/episode-extras/video/item_200157.shtml) Hehe.
Those clips are found under episode extras:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/apprentice/episode-extras.shtml
If you click on an episode, it will show you a bunch of videos. The ones that say exclusive next to them haven't been shown in the episode or on the You're Fired show. Just a heads up to anyone who hasn't checked that part of the site out.
Ha, yes! Howard's gone! Wooohooo! No more spare parts, even though the You're Fired audience seemed to think he should have stayed in.
Yay for Nick sticking up for Lorraine. She needs to STICK to her instincts more and not just talk about them!! She definitely quietened down today :) Although, did you see Kate's face when Lorraine told Howard the camera liked him and he looked good? Raaaaaaah, Kate was giving Lorraine daggers! She even said "without causing offense" or something before she said it and Kate was still being a grumpy goldfish.
James is still in it and bless his heart, he was on the winning team. I felt so happy for him. I think Mona said that on the only task he won he complained because the treat was some laughing therapy or yoga and he was upset because laughing was something he already knew how to do. I love him to bits :D
Oh, and next week James has on his CV "I put leash on people who spunk their money up the wall" Woah. Not sure if I should laugh or cringe.
Yasmina gets a shock when the interviewer has her business accounts on him. Ah, next week's gonna be so much fun.
I want the final two people to beeee James and Yasmina. But I really want Lorraine to be one of the final ones too :(
How can you like Lorraine? She makes me angry to look at.
This week I think that Kate did much better than anyone else on the losing team. She chose good items (they said that they were the top two best-selling items for that slot), but Howard and The Toad failed to sell them. Then, they chose bad products for her, granted she didn't do the best of jobs with regards to selling them but it must have been hard to sell a polystyrene cat for putting pins into. I mean, surely people have real cats for that?
Yay at James still being in. :) I was sure that he would get fired if his team lost. And yeah, the putting a leash on people who spunk their money up the wall... that wasn't just in general information though by the sounds of it... the guy said that it was on his CV as his occupation. :o He really makes me laugh though, just to look at his happy face. Such a funny guy, seems to be really nice.
For the final, as much as I love James, I'm not sure. :( I really hope so, but I don't think that Sir Alan knows that he's good, he just sees the jokes. I'm fairly sure that Yasmina will be there, though.
/me hugs Nick.
Always makes me smile.
How can you like Lorraine? She makes me angry to look at.
If you take away all the factors that make her a wedgie; going on about instincts, the grumpy look, the urge to argue, whine and moan, she does know what she's doing and I think she has more experience than some of the others. Perhaps it is because she's older than the rest but she never makes noise just to be the centre of attention or to stand out.
Sure she 's annoying but she knows what she's talking about. She's also a risk taker and doesn't sit on the fence about things. When someone attacks her, she doesn't attack back. Oh, and she doesn't care about her looks either. I quite like her 'mum' look :)
I still want James to win. If he doesn't, he'll cry. I don't like seeing a grown man cry :( He knows how to have fun and can be a hard worker.
I have a feeling Yasmina might win though. It won't be Debra, I don't think the interviewers will like her.
Hmm, yeah I sort of understand what you mean about Lorraine. The thing with her "not being on the fence", though, is I always see at as her just staring intently at one side of the fence, but not shifting herself off of said fence. *stops with fence analogy and starts trying to make sense*
I mean, she will just say "I really think that we should do x"... and then someone else says "hmm, I see, well I was thinking that we would do y", and Lorraine never fights for her idea. It's sometimes like she thinks that as long as she says something, she's safe in the boardroom because she can go "ooooh I told you so". Obviously, when it was with her and Philip she didn't stand a chance, with the rug thing she really was pushing it. But having that good idea and not having to follow through with it was the best way that it could have gone for her, so maybe she's just trying to repeat that.
"I want the dinosaur!"
"I don't. You can have a Nintendo Wii and Super Mario Brothers and Pokémon Blue for that price."
"Ah-kay. :)"
Although naturally she didn't say the smile, she probably just said ":[". Although maybe she DID smile, because she could have thought that Howard meant you can have Pokémon Blue, and she was picturing herself playing with all of the bulbasaurs and that.
...
Debra really can't win. I hope that she doesn't get to the final. Although she was the best presenter on the TV thing, I don't think that she's good enough to compensate for how cold she is. I mean, you'd have to be VERY good to compensate for that level of icy coldness.
I dunno if James would cry, but if he did it would make me very sad. :(

Maybe Lorraine was toning herself down because on the previous occasions she's pushed her opinion, people have called her pushy. Then when she doesn't push it, she gets faulted for it.
After Sir Alan talked about needing "someone special" for these "troubled times", I think the most likely people are Yasmina and Debra to win. James doesn't seem aggressive enough, and Lorraine is a single mother(?) with kids, so she mightn't be able to give as much time as Sir Alan might want. It shouldn't be a factor because it's unPC, but I think Sir Alan will consider it in his head, also, Lorraine seems quite volatile.
Debra and Yasmina are both good I think. Debra is quite abrasive (but maturity could come with age). Yasmina manages motivate people even when she's bossy (e.g. the catering task).

Lol at what James says about Debra (http://www.bbc.co.uk/apprentice/episode-extras/video/item_200182.shtml) at the end of the clip. If only it were as easy as that for the rest of us. If only... :P

I know people are having a bit of a love-hate relationship when it comes to Lorraine, but she's definitely grown on me. And not like moss either. In a good way.
Out of all the candidates that I've seen though, I still think Ben and Paula had the goods. I know Ben was very arrogant and rude at times, but like I said previously, it only came out in the boardroom, and when he was talking to the camera. Every other time, he acted very professionally. Never thought I'd say this, but I sort of wish he was still there, lol.. Just to see what more he had to offer, other than Sandhurst.

He said: "We were worried about when we got out that the distance would be a problem but we talked about it and decided that we would make it work and in fact I am going to move closer to where Kate lives to make it work which is a big decision for me - my feelings for Kate have made me want to take that risk."

My favourite bit was when I misread and read, and she's used her powers of persuasion to convince Sir Allen to join her.
Heh, for some reason when it said "an apprentice contestant" I assumed that it was Philip. Mainly because of:
"She goes on and on about what her and her bloke get up to at swingers' clubs and in their home. Apparently he likes to watch her in action with other men. She says he's a sex addict."
I just heard "her and her bloke" in his voice. :P

Oh Em Gee!
How close was that between Yasmina and Debra?! I actually thought Debra had it for as second there, because he was bringing out the good things in her and was questioning if Yasmina wanted it for the right reasons. And it was almost like he just changed his mind suddenly. I was NOT expecting that!
There's this, about the final five: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00l1nnx/The_Apprentice_Series_5_The_Final_Five/
It was on just before the Apprentice epi, so maybe some of you may have missed it.
Not sure who I want to see win the final! I have a feeling it's gonna be Yasmina. Hmm, we should ask Lorraine what her instinct is.
Kate: She's been weaker than Yasmina, but she does know how to handle people and hasn't got a temper. She always keeps her cool. Not sure how she's managed that. To be honest, I think it's the first time I've seen anyone keep their cool to that level, on the apprentice. I think she's a good all rounder. You wouldn't have thought that she found out her grandmother passed away just before that Margate task. She did well to pitch that. She is a strong person, without a doubt.
Yasmina: She's been a good all rounder too. I thought she was a fantastic project manager (looking back at it now). She's stood out more than Kate, and she has succeeded more than Kate, so I have a feeling she'll win for that reason alone. Of course, we've still got to actually watch the final, lol.
I was expecting an all women's final, anyway. I knew there was no way that Alan would ever put James in the final. Lol, I cried when he got fired. Ha. *sigh* :(
Lol @ the quote of the week this week. I knew it was gonna be, as soon as I heard him say it. He comes out with some funny stuffs XD
Ah, Kate and Yasmina, they were always the most likely. I wasn't that upset when James got fired... I didn't think that he'd even get this far, and at least he's still in the next episode so we haven't missed out on much James time. :) When he got fired though and did the normal "thank you for the opportunity" thing, but then just as he was leaving he had a really good look around the boardroom... "it's been brilliant". I sort of laughed, but it was actually a beautifully touching, touchingly beautiful moment. :P heh.
If I had to bet on someone, it would be Yasmina. I'm not sure though. Should be a good one. :)
Oh, did anyone else see the You're Fired show? When James Caan said "Debra should be nicer", something to that effect... and that woman flipped out saying "just because she's a woman, she doesn't have to be weak etc". He was saying that she should be nice because she's MEAN, not because she's female. Be nice to James Caan. :( He's not been himself since Peter Jones got that CBE. Jealousy is a cruel mistress.

... she really wants to finish her masters.

Nope. I forgot to mention that!
I thought they might have done a journalism messup, or it was fabricated altogether (a bit like the lies of Sir Alan wanting to be the next mayor of London, lol! He denied that). Buttt.. then saying that, sometimes some people keep calling PhD a masters O_o But I doubt Sir Alan would. So.. I'm actually confused, lol.
I haven't checked anywhere else to see if this is true (about her leaving). But I sort of assume it is...

It was on MSN news as well with the same quotes.
I told someone a while ago that I thought that this would be happening. :/ I think that it was Sorsie. :(:( Yeah, it won't be the same without Margaret.
But yeah, I was saying that she's studying papyrology and it looks like she'll be following this, and now it's come out as true. I wish that I posted it so that I could do the "I knew it" thing, I don't get to do that very often. :P
/me hugs Margaret, and consoles Nick.

Lol, you had an opportunity to show us your natural instincts and you didn't!
Dum de dum de dum dum, de doo doo do doodoo dodorooo....
And the winner is YASMINA!!!!!
Wicked awesome yayness! Well ok not so wicked awesome yayness cos I still want James to win xD
I was shocked Yasmina won tbh, but really happy. And I do kinda feel bad for Kate even though I don't really like her so much. She seemed a bit more relaxed tonight and on the show so it was nice to see that side of her :)
For meeee, quote of the week has to be from James!! They step into the boardroom and Alan says James was right in that he did kinda become Willy Wonka, to which James replies "I think I've got Lorraine's gift"
Can't wait until next year's now. Must find a hobby in the meantime!
Bugger. Should not have looked at this thread. Bums.

Kate wuz robbed! I wanted her to win but I like Yasmina too. The adverts made me cringe D:
Oops, sorry Ches. Didn't think I'd have to use spolers there.
I forgot to mention earlier, did anyone get the impression Phil was trying to make Yasmina lose? At one point he was coming out with really bad ideas and encouraging her to do a box of chocolates for men; it was like he was on the wrong team. I thought maybe it was his way of helping Kate win. Then again, it could be genuine awful ideas, just look at pantsman for that

lol ^
Did anyone notice that when he hired Yasmina, he began with "My instincts are telling me..." I was like.. "Lorraine should be hired????!" heh XD I actually thought Kate would win it, but saying that, I feel if she did price it better and stick with good ingredients, it would have gone her way. Without a doubt. Because then her product really would have been perfect.
I like Yasmina and all, and thought she was great. I think she was hired 'cause at the moment, the economy is going through tough times, and they need someone like her. I would definitely prefer to work with Kate out of the two of 'em, though. And I'm SO glad they were talking about her not being robotic! I always thought she didn't come across that way. Outside the boardroom, she did have a personality.
And in all honestly, I'm still seeing those great qualities in Ben (despite the fact that a lot of his ideas hover around the theme of sex O_o). I believe he went too early. That stupid horse idea! That guy has a lot of business skills. Too bad people hated him early though 'cause of his arrogance when he spoke to the camera, and also his attitude in the boardroom.
I thought it was hilarious that Kate wasn't picking Philip. So obvious why she didn't. Hehe. Aww, I do wish them the best though. They look great together XD
Don't forget the exclusive clips on the bbc site, btw :D There's a hilarious one between James, Lorraine and Philip in the car (can't be asked to find it again and post it, lol XD)

Yes, lol.
I'm not surprised or disappointed that yasmina won, but i do think that Kate is a nicer person. I'm not sure what being on the apprentice will do for Yasmina's restaurant, it just shows that she uses the cheapest ingredients for everything and doesnt care much about the quality of the products... Like the wraps that fell apart, or them minging chocolates.
I thought it was well funny when everyone on Yasmina's team was complimenting her and lorraine joined in then went "well both of them are", the way she said it was like *punch in the face* haha.
Eugh almost a whole yeeaaar to wait til the next series! :(

Lol I agree Ches xD ahaha. I had that, then was like. Oh now I have to watch it. xD
I think, the adverts were SOOO CRINGEY urgh. And I hate the word cringe. But. I literally was cringing. URGH... lol. AND THEN ahaha when the guy in who was for yasminas team on the advert when he spat out the chocolate. Ahahah Urgh. It sounds so rough, but I would buy it for £6. I think that was really the only problem with Kates. :( Poor woman. She just missed out, but the way she spoke irritated me a bit for some reason.. Hmm... Lol. Oh well. :) It was interesting to watch. Oh and Margarets face when they gave her a chocolate and she was like.. I'm fine with just one cheers. And I was like LOOOL they obviously taste like poop xD
Ahh.. So much cringe, so little time.
