BM's World Tour of Britain
announcing the arrival of our special guest star - Bad_MaNneR$

Lock up your daughters and hide your beer cos BM is hitting Britain this summer.
Once in a lifetime opportunity (hopefully) to meet him so keep the weekend of 8/9th September free and we will have a meet somewhere in the North (thats up from Watford jewels) possibly Manchester.
Anyone who doesn't attend may be subjected to a humiliatingly intimate, surprise visit and then deported! (contact on PM if required)
Anyone interested? Minor details such as location and hotels to be announced at late a date as possible.

Aw I would love to meet you but cant make it all the way to Manchester :(
OH MY OH MY, we are going to have some serious accent issues here.
Yes it's atrocious isn't it... having a southern accent. How do you put up with it?
Moving onto the BM World Tour:
I'm pretty close to Manchester, so I shall endeavour to say hello, raise glass, eat food, win 10pin bowling etc.
BM: How long are over for? And are you visiting for any non iSketch related purposes?

With me living in Manchester, how could I possibly say no?! I will gladly pop along and have a tinnie with BM. Kissy, just let me know if you need any advice on hotels etc, more than happy to help.
Be luvleh to see you BM!

BACKGROUND:
Parents offered to take the 3 of us BM, Mrs BM and BM Jnr to UK. Unfortunately BM Jnr is in Year 10 (4th form) of High School and taking a month out is not an option for him. Our cat and dog are quite old and Mrs BM refuses to leave them in kennels (says she will come over another time - once the animals have gone to the big sandbox in the sky and BM Jnr is out of High School - another 2 years for him).
So it's just me and my parents and we are basing ourselves in the home town of "2 Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps" (http://www.bbc.co.uk/comedy/twopints/tour/) where I understand they have a mini version of our Harbour Bridge (http://www.jenius.com.au/images/SydneyHarbourBridge_13Feb9pm.jpg)
SCHEDULE:
Touchdown Manchester - Friday, 17 August 2007
Get Deported - Friday, 14 September 2007
In between there is:
3 day World Tour of Dublin - Tuesday, 21 August 2007 to Friday, 24 August 2007
3 day World Tour of Barcelona - Tuesday, 4 September 2007 to Friday, 7 September 2007
I have to fit in the mandatory meet the rello's (can't wait to see how my cousin's beautiful little girls have grown up - they were 5 and 8 when they visited Oz 4 years ago).
There's also some as yet unscheduled trips to Scotland (no idea what bit - but will definitely try to sneak a way for a beer or 12 with a few iSketch Regs), Wales (now that presents some language challenges - same deal as Scotland too- I mean about beers not just local lingo) and probably mucking about on boat on some canal on 28th August. I will also try to stick in an overnighter to London or somewhere around there - may need a translator - but I understand that London is the place where most Aussies seem to gravitate to for the purpose of causing havoc, pretty much like the Brits do with Bondi.
Somewhere in between is a night out on the piss with the cousins - they are mostly Scousers so I may end up having to talk my way out of getting locked-up  (not bringing any police ID with me - too hard to get replaced if it goes missing).
I do have some posh cousins down south - but we don't talk to them much because they are so hard to understand.
/me F♥cks off to to work now and tries to unlearn the correct pronunciation of his vowels in order to be understood.

Mini is hardly the word BM, it's only 5M shorter and high enough to let the QE2 underneath - trust me, I know, I've walked across it
Think you can definitely count the Rustys in for this meet, M'Cr is only 40 mins away  or failing that, we can always schedule in a visit to out parents and meet you in 'beautiful' Runcorn
/me supposes then that England encompasses the whole world then?
/me walks away giggling
edit: well i suppose if you count tha you have to travel half way across the world then i suppose then yes, but i'm sure you'll be missing a large portion of it.
Which way are ya travelling BM? Asia or US? (something tells me asia, my apologies for the dumb question)
He can make it a world tour if he goes via Asia and comes back via the Americas :p

Pfft! Too rough indeed! Only one of my cousins has died from falling off a building site! Anyway - given that the World Tour has to include some of Scotland and some of Wales - I won't lock in a date for my sojourn to London until I actually sort out getting on the drink with the cousins. The parents also want to visit London, so I'm hoping they will do the drive down to London and stay a couple of nights thing, so I can lose them after a day and they can head back up north and leave me to find my own way home after a couple more days. As I say - nothing locked in just yet - but would love to make time to meet anyone from down south who can't make Manchester

Cool. Whatever you decide. I'm sure there's a pub or 2 in Runcorn - The cousin wouldn't live there if there wasn't.

Well it's more like the way the Americans have their "World Series" sporting events, like World Series baseball, yet the only country invited is United States of America and not even the Canadians or Mexicans - who are their next-door neighbours get an invite. But we really pinched the title from Billy Connolly and his "World Tour of Australia"

Shameless Bump!
BM is leaving his beloved island on Thursday (albeit temporarily) so I wish him a safe and comfortable flight.
He will be touring our mighty nation so anyone who wants to meet him for a cuppa and crumpets can contact him via the forum (providing he works out how to use an adaptor for the plug).
The Manchester meet is going ahead but I reckon he owes the Southerners a lunch or two!
He often refers to Aus as paradise but I don't think he will be disappointed by the UK....http://img393.imageshack.us/img393/250/paradisegz7.jpg

I will try to make it darn sarf for a lunch or something similar. Cousin plans to do an overnight with a show - so we will see what happens on that note.
3 more hours at the airport - gunna go pay $12 Singapore and see if I can get some iSketch while I'm here.

Thanks for all your welcomes - I think I am over the jetlag - the flight from Singapore to Manchester was terrible - cabin was over heated and my poor old dad couldn't handle it - couldn't sleep and was highly distressed - which stuffed up his diabetes and sugar levels. I think it's Sunday now and I have moved the clock on my phone pover to UK time.
Dad has started to settle down a bit but is still a bit frail and the poor bugger has a cut on his foot so he's hobbling about - fortunately I managed to acquire him a collapsible walking stick and he's over the moon with it.
He's really looking forward to Dublin on Tuesday - cos thats where he was born and as I've never been it will be a great opportunity for me to see the 2 most important tourist destinations - the Guinness Storehouse and the Jamesons Distillery.
If I get a chance I might even steal away and go visit Cunny_Funt - seeing as that meet was this weekend and I couldn't make it.
Don't forget - Manchester - 8th - 9th.

Manchester meet getting close and we should get our fingers out.
Seems you can't book that hotel for the one night (8th Sept) so I suggest you book for 7th and 8th and then cancel the 7th over the next week. http://www.premiertravelinn.com/pti/hotelInformation.do?hotelId=23897
Alternatively stay for both nights, that's what Ayeup and I are doing, we are intending to rope Fairy in for a night out!
So far there is interest from BM, me, Ayeup, Jewels, Cherry, VodkaBabe, the Rustys, Jasr, MrsSquang and possibly Fruity and Scotty. Anyone else? There is bowling and bumper cars there and pubs, clubs galore so doubt we will need any organising and then back to the rooms for more drinks/games!
Anyone seeing the Belfast photos shouldnt be in a doubt that we can squeeze a little fun out of these things xxx

Sounds great princess. Thank you so much for helping make my World Tour of Britain so very special. I owe you some huge hugs (with benefits) when I see you.
UPDATE: Dublin weather was supposed to be sunny and range from 13C to 19C - its currently 21C and was about 26C (felt like a lovely summer day in Sydney Australia) while we were out and about showing dad the sights of Dublin he remembers as a boy. Some of the places are no longer there and many have changed as expected - but he is directing us around quite well.
The Gresham Hotel we are staying in is very nice and the staff have been so accommodating of dad with his sore foot and failing eyesight. Thank-s to Kissy, Cunny, and Eric for staying up late on Monday helping me search for wheelchairs to hire. All that effort and it turned out that the Hotel has them to loan out.
Will have to look into it for when we get back to England as its been so much easier to wheel him about and let him have the occasional walk with a walking stick my mum's uncle loaned him.
The Cousin and I dropped mum & dad back in their room about 10:30 last night then went out and drank a million pints of Guinness until 3am. So big apologies if I said or did anything to offend anyone on MSN about then. If that doesn't cut it - big hugs anyway. Woke up hangoverless - I think polishing off a couple of cans of Tuborg when I got back from the pub may have helped water down the Guinness in my belly.
Off to the GUINNESS STOREHOUSE (http://www.guinness-storehouse.com/) tomorrow morning and then we will try to make it to the OLD JAMESON DISTILLERY (http://www.irishdistillershost.com/idl2/visitus/OJD/OJDindex.html) either in the afternoon or the day after.
Flight from Barcelona back to Liverpool on Friday night of the Manchester Meet is at 21:35 - so I have no idea when we are supposed to land in Liverpool at this stage. I'm trying to convince the cousin to drive me over on the night - will have to ensure I lay out some kit so I can race in upend case and repack quickly. Hopefully I will be able to grace you with my presence for a few hours of Friday night.
Can you tell I'm hanging out to meet you all?

London isn't set in concrete. I am working on that when I get back to England and make sure my dad is ok. I really do want to get down there to grace those poor southerners that would like to meet me, with my presence.
If I do go there - it will be up on this thread as soon as I know what's happenning.
Hopefully I will also take extra kit to Barcelona so that I can pack enough in my cabin bag to have for Manchester and then get dropped off at the hotel some time really late on the Friday night, so some of you can get 2 days of BM. Then the family can just dump my big suitcase at the home basecamp.

Can I get a room? Preferably one with some hot iSketch chicky babes in it and plenty of alcohol.
Back from Dublin and if that was Dublin then I've been there. Not what I expected, it’ much bigger and quite cosmopolitan - beautiful place in parts - but get off the main drag and there's some real ♥♥♥♥holes.
All the Irish people we met were absolutely wonderful – and the taxi drivers were great. They even spoke English and didn’t smell, unlike most taxi drivers we have back home in Oz.
Seems Dublin has had a huge influx of people who are from somewhere that is not Ireland. Most of the ones I came into contact with were as dumb as a box of hammers and even though they had jobs, had no idea about what they were doing or about customer service.
One group of people who are from somewhere that is not Ireland have apparently recently been rounded up deported in droves, because all they do is come from a poor country to a place where they have more to aspire to and become even poorer. Then they wander about, begging and sitting in the middle of the street eating salami and rice crackers. What’s that about?
We got harassed in Burger King by a female with a baby and my cousin said "Scouse humour deleted because it may have caused offence." She then continued to try and harass my dad for money so I jumped in and said "Look! What part of EXPLETIVE OFF don't you understand?" She ran off then.
Guinness Storehouse was good – but it’s a hell of a long way out of the main street and although I had a TomTom navigator, I highly recommend getting a taxi there. It’s a self-guided tour and when you get to the top floor you get a complimentary Guinness. Mum doesn’t drink it and Dad is on antibiotics so I scammed a couple of soft drinks for them and some muppet came over to ask if we’d sell him a spare one for €5 – always the entrepreneur, as mum was about to say – no you can have it for nothing I jumped in and said “yes – we’ll take it!”
The Jamesons Distillery is far better organised than Guinness and has a guided tour and you get a choice of neat – on ice – with cranberry juice or with dry ginger ale and lime. Still need to taxi it though because it’s a decent way to walk out of town.
Back in England now and had a BBQ last night - was very nice - asked to cook it too as the guest Aussie. Was just like home except the variables weren't quite in the right order - Beer needed to be colder - weather needed to be warmer – good thing though - there were no flies!!
Have been maintaining a beer diary – everywhere I go and have a pint – it’s listed in my diary. Have only had TWO warm beers so far – a Boddingtons at Liverpool Airport and a Bombardier at the Red Lion near Sandymoor in Runcorn. Cant get over how bigger is better when it comes to alcohol here – what is doing with the 1 litre Bacardi Breezers?
Anyway - off to do the "visit the rellies" today.

Erm thanks I think and I guess you'll just have to do. (Joke - you know I love you.)xxx
Went on a canal or narrow boat trip today - unusual experience yet quite pleasant - loads of beer - albeit they were getting a bit warm towards the end of the trip because the person who organised it has NFI about getting a tub of ice to keep the beer cold in.
Yours truly did the catering and drove the boat all day. Had a blast until it was late afternoon and heading back - slightly delayed - so cranked it up to about 6 mph and this old fisherman near his narrow boat yells "slow down matey - slow down matey"
I know we were supposed to do 4mph but we were a little late getting the boat back and couldnt be doing 4mph so I yelled back "F♥♥♥ OFF MATEY! ♥♥♥♥ OFF MATEY!"
Have just cleared all the guests out of the house and sent them home. Too much of this fresh air stuff makes you tired. So may shower and hit the sack - or possibly try to play iSketch!!!
flopsy
28-08-2007, 09:33 PM
I live in a part of England where canals are a way of life and speed limits are set at 4mph for a reason.
Boats going faster than that speed create a wash; the wash makes other boats rock at odd angles, it can damage interior equipment, and may indeed cause injury to their occupants. On top of that, wash destroys the sides and banks of canals and damages the ecology of the canal. On shallow canals, a breaking wave may form from the stern of a boat complying with the 4mph limit, in which case you should slow down still further.
When I went to Australia, I made sure that I obeyed the laws of that country; I was a guest, and guests should not violate the laws of the country they are in. I'm dismayed that Bad_MaNneR$ thinks it's funny to violate the laws of my country and to abuse the people who told him off for it.
Bad_MaNneR$
28-08-2007, 11:24 PM
Sorry you feel like that - but as a flood rescue trainer I can absolutely certify that there was neither bow wake, nor stern wash or engine wake from my vessel. The larger vessels that had been flying past us all day however caused our little rental boat full of old age pensioners to get thrown around considerably - none of them (all apparent private owners and regular users) obeyed the International Rules for the Prevention of Collisions at Sea - by which all operators of navigable vessels are bound (yes even on canals - which the owner advised me of prior to taking the boat out) so a short distance of 8 knots really pales into comparison. He was probably just pissed off that all the other boats had been speeding and decided to pick on us.

If other people break the law it doesn't mean that it's acceptable for me to do the same. Other people mug old ladies in the street, that doesn't make it all right for me to do it. On British Waterways it's accepted practice to slow down even below the speed limit when approaching fishermen and to keep in the centre to avoid causing any wash that might disrupt keep-nets etc. The fact that you say you couldn't see a wash doesn't mean there wasn't one - the movement of boats creates currents in their wake no matter how slowly they're going. 4mph is the accepted maximum speed that does least harm to other users of the canal, and it is also the law.
Another thread (http://www.isketchforum.net/debate-have-go-t1956.html) asks if when we see people breaking the law, we should try to intervene; some people have said that when they did intervene they got an abusive, sometimes violent, reaction. An elderly man, fishing peacefully by the side of an English canal, told the man at the helm of a narrowboat that was clearly going too fast to slow down, and in response abuse was hurled at him. I wonder if he thinks it funny to have been treated that way or what he'll do next time he sees a law being broken.

oh come on, what happened here? BM was providing an amusing narrative of his visit, whether it happened exactly as he recalled or whether he beefed up his response to it, it doesn't warrant comparing his actions to mugging old ladies.

FFS - Well I am off to Dumfries and Galloway tomorrow morning and I am looking for suggestions as to how we might upset some Scottish people. Apparently there are no canals up there.
Any suggestions?
Wait until there are several Scots around, look around you, and make a remark along the lines of how beautiful this part of England is.
Disclaimer: Please do not actually do this. lol
I lived in Glasgow for a few years. Lovely place, lovely people, but not all are England's #1 fans.... and with good reason, sometimes!

TY Vik. Kissy and I talked on the phone yesterday and she did pass on your suggestion and yes - I used it in the main street of a place called Moffat near Dumfries & Galloway. That got a few evil looks. I also replied when asked in a pub in Annan "How do you like Scotland?" - "It's a nice place to come from. But what's all that pink weed along the side of the road? back home we have people paid to go and cut weeds like that down as it spreads like wildfire." (Suggest you google 'Paterson's Curse') Got a good reaction from a few people.
I also wore my T-Shirt which has emblazoned on the rear:
WARNING! Contains Opinions Which May Offend
And on the front:
D.I.L.L.I.G.A.F.
This elicited a number of comments such as "I like the back of your shirt!" and "Great shirt."
At least five people made the fatal mistake of asking me "What does D.I.L.L.I.G.A.F. mean?" How could I refuse to tell them?
Reponses and reactions:
1. Fair enough then. (Walks off with disgusted look on face).
2. You disgusting young man. (Well you asked me mister but thanks for the 'young' compliment.)
3. Hmmmphh! Scuttled off in a huff.
4. How dare you! (Well you could have just wondered and not interrupted my day - but you did ask and now you've been told!)
5. Oh! That's terrible! Face turns bright red. Walks off with his wife asking him what he had just been told.
The last was by far the most hilarious as you can imagine her getting in his ear all afternoon wanting to know and him being clearly too embarrassed to tell her.

Look what you missed!
Wow - glad I'm not at home and putting up with that!
Well I had to cancel the Wales leg as the alcoholic cousin I was going to visit has been too sick for us to see and the cousin we are staying with has CBA syndrome. So we took mum to one of those Outlet Shopping places to run amok with her funny English money.
Got some traditional English Summer weather - poured down rain all day and we got drenched going from shop to shop. Mum got a few things and I scored some bargain tshirts and shorts.
So I missed the Welsh leg and you were thinking,"Oh he hasn't been able to upset a Welshman." Wrong!
Was walking dad through the crowds - him holding my arm as he is part lind and can't see too well, when this big boofhead comes barrelling along, not looking where he's going and I turned in towards dad - stopped and dropped my shoulder. Old mate crashes straight into my shoulder and stops, stunned. Gives me a gobful in the broadest Welsh accent I have ever heard. At which point I retort - "Well in case you didn't see - and clearly you didn't - I'm helping my old, blind dad through this crowd and you weren't looking where you were going or you wouldn't have hurt yourself!"
He continued in a threatening mnnaer yelling in Welsh until I said "Look - just ♥♥♥♥ Off back to your sheep!" ***
He was gobsmacked and left.......
*** Apologies to any decent Welsh folk reading this thread.

/me formally apologises to any ovines who may have been reading this forum and have taken offence at the preceding post by me.
Still need to book a room and show in London for next Tuesday - Wednesday or else it won't happen and I will end up just going down to London on my own. (Not necessarily a bad plan).
Counting down the days to Manchester - Only 4 days left as I post.
EDIT: Wednesday 5 Sept 2007
Touched down in Barcelona last night. Staying in a hotel right on La Rambla so everything is within walking distance. Pretty place at night and buildings are awesome in marble. Got the parents settled in their room and grabbed a couple of hamburgers and a few bottles of agua, so dad didnt have to wander about the streets at night. Then the cousin and I went out to find cold cervezas.
Didnt want to hit a bar so we found a hotdog and waffles stand that sold Estrella 6 packs for 12 Euros. A bit pricey - but it was ice cold - so it was all good.
Funniest thing so far has been the prostitutes out on La Rambla. They were soliciting galore and although I can be quite firm with them - saying no a million times seems to be the go, my cousin (who is gay) was getting the sh♥ts with them hitting on him. He kept saying "Oh you're barking up the wrong tree!" We laughed heaps when one said "Smelly C♥♥t" to him - which is hardly a recommendation for a prostitute selling her wares. He replied "Oh no maadam I am gay and certainly not smelly, but yes. You probably have. Kindly F♥♥♥ Off!"
So we've done breakfast and are heading off into the world to see La Rambla (not Las Ramblas) in the daylight.
Had a good day wandering around Barcelona today. Took dad into a cafe for a tea and cake. We sat and the waiter asked if we were eating. He brought menus that appeared to be main meals only, so when he came to take our orders I pointed to the display case of cakes saying cafe y te. At this point he picked up all the serviettes and cutlery, then slammed them down on the bar, came back and then picked up the table mats and then the condiments and took the table cloth and slammed an ashtray down.
I really couldn’t be arsed with that so said F♥♥♥ this – not being treated like this by that cranky old ♥♥♥♥ – So as he went down the back for something, we all got up and left.
When he returned – we had gone. Went 2 doors down for the same thing and got fine staff, great service and a more pleasant atmosphere. And the silly bastard at the other place had to reset the table.
Double bonus points on the BM family upsetting the world scale ;o)
Have fun all of you have a drinkies or three for me?

The Rusty's made it over the Pennines (they didn't even want our passports!) to meet the guys. What a fantastic bunch of people!
A couple of surprises were WildCherry who literally got back from holiday, dumped her cases and got the first coach up and Jewels who drove up this afternoon and is driving home tonight (be careful you two!). They joined Kissy, Fruity (plus two lovely little Fruitettes), FairyNuff (with her son who's cool cos he supports Man U), BM, AYEUP and JasR.
They finally made it out of the hotel bar at eight o'clock to forage for food, at which point my man flu kicked in again and we left them to it.
So nice to meet them all. They are all luverly. Can't wait to see them all for a bit longer next time (maybe Henley!).

LEFT TO RIGHT: ADULTS - AYEUP - JASR - FAIRYNUFF - FRUITY - KISSY - WILD_CHERRY - JEWELS
KIDS: The Girls are Fruity's FRUITETTES - The boy in the Man Unite Shirt is Young Master NUFF and the big kid in the DILLIGAF Shirt is yours truly.
It was excellent to meet you all up close and personal and in the flesh - well it IS 13,000 miles from Australia to England, so even if we had been in separate hotels it would have been closer ;o)
A special thanks for those who travelled so far to get to Manchester.
JASR: Great to meet the man behind the scroll mouse who kicks butt in trivia. I promise that was my normal handshake and I wasn't trying to break your fingers.
FRUITY: Now I see why your iSketch drawings are done with such humorous content. Will send you the pics that the little Fruitettes took on my camera.
AYEUP: You’re every bit as gorgeous in real life as you are online. Guinness IS good for you and nobody can tell you any different. Was a pleasure to have met you.
RUSTY & MRS RUSTY: Great to finally meet you - hope you can make it to Oz for a holiday then consider coming down for good - always jobs available in nursing down under. Sorry but that avatar pic just wasn't doing you justice - I was expecting a much older bloke, and when you rocked in I thought - ah that must be Rusty's son. (yes Bad Manners from BM - but we expected that now didn't we?).
KISSY: Wow – what a beautiful, gorgeous person you are. I know we’ve been talking on MSN for ages and we are great mates, and I was a little apprehensive about meeting, but you made me feel so welcome and comfortable, that meeting the others was easier. Thank you so much for my Bad Manners t-shirt I absolutely loved it! What a great welcome to England.
Oh and thanks for arranging my hotel room and getting up at two o'clock in the morning to greet me with the key. I really appreciated not having to wait around for hours (or at least 30 seconds) to get to bed after flying in from Barcelona.
JEWELS: Next time - leave one of the Sat Navs at home - I don't know where you put all that chocolate cake - you must starve yourself for a week before you eat it. Thanks for driving up and back in one day, was great to meet you - even if the language barrier meant that none of us understood you ;o) Will send you the pic of your chocolate fudge cake, and the one of you dancing nude on the bar.
NUFFEH: You are just like I expected, and I suspect there’s an evil sense of humour that lurks just blow the surface (girl after my own heart). Young master Nuff is a good kid and make him stick to the advice I gave him (be good to your mother – it’s what I tell all kids).
CHERRY: It was great that you managed to convince Mr Cherry to let you go. I’m glad you liked your present of a genuine kangaroo scrotum money pouch – it just seemed appropriate and so very Cherry.
PEANUT: Sorry I missed you mate. I was having a continental breakfast and by the time Kissy was able to tell me you had texted her, you’d had to leave. At least we were in the same hotel for a few hours anyway.
CUNNY: Even though you weren’t there, being able to talk to you on the phone meant that you were there in spirit and that was greatly appreciated (and I didn’t need an interpreter). I know Manchester was certainly no Belfast meet, but there would be no point competing for favourites.
I can’t vouch for everyone else – but I know I had a great time and I really appreciated everyone who was able to, making the effort to get there – sorry that others couldn’t make it, but circumstances prevented it and that’s just the way life goes sometimes.
The continental breakfasts at the hotel were great, the company was fantastic – the beers were cold, I didn’t get a couple of hot iSketch chicky babes in my hotel room as I requested, but had a fantastic time anyway, so to everyone…..
THANKS FOR COMING IT WAS FANTASTIC!

Hey Admiiiiiiiin!
I am too drunk to remember how to cut. paste and delete so merge this if you like.
Made it to London and took one of those bus tour thingummies with a complementary boat trip. Had fish and chips with a beer - all for a fiver at the Tower of London before getting on the boat.
I wasnt planning on upsetting anyone in London really - but managed to do so. Getting on the boat you wait until everyone who wanted to get off gets off, then they let you get on. So with half a dozen or so people before us, I was helping to guide dad onboard, as he ws a bit frail today and needed some assistance.
A bunch of Ferench terrorosts/tourists same thing decided at the kast second that they wanted to get off. They started barging towards us and tried to push past dad who was negotiating the steos with a walking stick.
I just turned around and stated extremely loudly "Back the ♥♥♥♥ off you ignoarant French ♥♥♥♥ers" at whoch point the master of the vessel stepped in and told them to stand aside and wait.
Onc ethey were gone he explained the system to all passengers on the PA system and pointed out that "a groupignorant French tourists had just tried to knock over an elderly gentleman with a walking stick, becaiuse they were too stupid to realise when they needed to get off!"
He then proceeeded to bag them out for the next 10 minutes - stating that chains attached to a pylon were for "chaining up unruly French children.
So I have now upset the French! I have also upset the concierge by telling her that the bus ride was 16 GB pounds on the net - whereas she wanted 19 GB pounds. She only charged me 16 pounds each ticket and asked for 64 pounds. When we returned to the hotel and asked for our keys the new concierge asked for an extra 12 pounds because her colleauge made a mistake.
I said "So you are telling me that because YOUR COLLEAGUE made a mistake at the point of sale, you now want me to pay an extra 12 pounds?"
Bkank look and "Yes."
My reply, "No. I don't think so. I was asked for 64 pounds and I paid it."
"Then the ticket may be invalid."
"Well it's too bloody late - we used he tickets today!"
I will pay the balance if its essential - but we considered it a good will gesture at the time and now, after the fact, they want more money. Pffffft!!
Off to get a continental breakfast / maybe brunch today.

Manchester was great, good to see my drinking buddies, Fairy, Ayeup and Fruity again, shame Peanut couldnt stay but he had to get back to see his family off on holiday. Lovely to see jasr again (forgot how funny he is) and fortunately I managed to separate him and BM from the handshake deathgrip where they were trying to break eachothers fingers to gain some advantage in trivia! Fabulous to meet the Rusty's at last - look forward to seeing you 2 on isk real soon. Fruity's girls and Fairy's son (keeping them anon!) were an asset there and it's always a real pleasure to have them around. Maybe we should have a meet specifically to bring the kids next Spring?

Well BM certainly knows how to travel in style, I spoke to him this morning just before he left British soil.
Firstly he was collected in a vintage rolls royce to take them to the airport, then they had all the tea, coffee, beer, pastries, cereal they could eat or drink in the Executive Lounge and finally priority boarding onto the plane!
He did get a good result on the plane by managing to annoy the airhostesses by using his mobile when he shouldn't have!
They have a 14 hour flight (ouch!) stopover in Singapore (he may get on here to say g'day) and then a 9 hour flight home. Well it is a long way...
BM, hope you and your family had a great time in Europe, come again soon xxxx

Thanks for posting for me sweetheart. Was good to get a last minute chat in - even if the air hostie chipped me for being on the phone before the plane had even closed the doors.
As you know I chatted to you and jewels from Singapore Transit Lounge and - here's the little taxi we got to the airport.

Here is a little poem for your return home BM.
Our BM is in the sky, all we can do back here is cry.
We had him here for a short time, his visit was nothing short of sublime.
I hope the aussi,s want him back. or ill presonally repack his trusty rucksack.
To bring him back to english soil, so we can love him kiss him and really spoil.
Farewell to a good mate we all know and miss, and ive sealed this message with a big fat kiss.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Thanks Cherry - I appreciate it. Especially as my flight from Singapore has now been delayed by 2hrs 10 mins. They took dad & mum together to Ambulift them on the plane as he is on Assisted Passage and gets taken through security ahead of everyone else.
This has been fine almost everywhere - except the return out of Barcelona - where they said no dont get a bus across - we'll get a special lift and then the ♥♥♥♥er refused to take him because the wheelchair we borrowed from the airport wasnt the airlines own. Go figure.
So its God knows what time - I have dumped out of iSketch in a big rush to get to the gate and as my battery was dying I told my very best friend on msn that my battery was dying and I would drop anyway - but if I hadn't been going to board soon I would have gone and plugged into a powerpoint and carried on the conversation. So I get directed to the gate and they get taken off separately. I am in the midst of whipping outthe laptop and taking off half my clothes for the security check at Singapore Security, when some muppet wanders out saying go to the mumble mumble - the flight is delayed until 11:40 not the scheduled 9:30.
So I get re-dressed and ask the muppet where the ♥♥♥♥ my parents are, because dad is being ambu-lifted on. He says "I don't know. You have to go to Transfers" Which happens to be exactly where I started

Losing luggage is much more common than losing parents. Assume you found them and resumed your journey after the delay.
I'm betting BM will do his pope impression and kiss the tarmac at Sydney Airport. We will miss you BM but it's always nice to get home x
And this time, I really can say 'next time we talk, you'll be home in Oz' xxx

Thanks Kissy,
I didn't get the chance to kiss the tarmac - but I very nearly collapsed onto it from the strain of the last month. And yes the next time we actually spoke you were the the one person who is there for me at about 2:40am Sydney time and were there again when I was tired and emotional and needed someone the most.
Thanks for being there princess - you know this big boofhead loves every little inch of you.
I didn't get to complete the tale of Singapore Airport,
After checking at several desks I had been directed to, I found Mum and Dad had been dropped in a Food Court and told to use their Boarding Pass to get a meal. Not a great idea considering almost all they had was rice and noodles with funky Singaporean stuff. Dad was stressing because he can't eat that and mum has allergic reactions to MSG - so doesn't eat any asian, Malaysian, Singaporean or other similar foods - she can't risk it. So there she is lined up looking forlorn and dad is fuming because others have eaten twice and they were the last to be brought up to eat. Naturally the stress and having not eaten on time meant his sugar levels had been trashed and he was starting to get really angry and snapped at me a lot.
I got mum away from the line to the noodle bar - put her in a patisserie line and said I'd keep an eye out until she reached the front. Went and got a prawn laksa (worst thing I've ever put in my mouth) and a beer and 2 bottles of water for Mum & Dad. The folks in front of me also had water and were told they couldn't have water - only post mix pepsi or soft drinks. I kept mine and was told I'd have to pay for water - but could have soft drinks - I just said "No. Thats for my dad - he is diabetic and cannot drink your sugary, syrupy soft drinks - he will be having water, as is his basic human right, and I will be having this beer - because by now I should be on a plane having another one." Nobody argued or challenged me, so I guess I upset the Singapoerans too. (Insert very tired and half hearted yay here).
Poor dad managed to eat half of a crust chicken pie and mum got a manky chicken sandwich - they also got cups of tea. Dad started to cry from the stress of it all and the fact his sugar levels were all over the place didnt help him.
The plane ended up delayed by just over 4 hours. So when we get there and are taken through customs and quarantine by a lovely girl from the airport, she took us to where we should have been and once we determined that the shuttle wasn't there I had to check the email on my laptop - and when I opened my cabin bag - designed for laptops - found the laptop screen has been damaged and can't see the bottom right side of it. Of course the private shuttle I had booked to pick us up from the airport refuses to stay more than 45 minutes and doesn't check plane delays - small print which I found out later - bastards. So she arranged for the airline to pay for a taxi home.
Got the parents home - fed, watered and put to bed, did a load of washing and hung it out at 2am. Grabbed a beer and just sat and cried buckets in the back garden. Not sure where they came from, but it's probably a combination of stress and the strain of taking care of mum & dad and although going and leaving the wife and junior at home was probably against better judgement - I'm glad I went, because had I not been there, one or both may have ended up in hospital because they didn't cope. I think it's also attributed to missing Oz and missing new friends and loved ones.
So - BM's World Tour of Britain has come full circle and I finished my last night in Britain playing iSketch with some of my favourite iSketchers - including some I have now met in person and love to bits. I now have to check with Dell and my Travel Insurer about getting the laptop fixed - but that can wait until Monday. I will eventually get some picture links up and post them here, for the World Tour and specifically for the World Tour Manchester Meet.
Tonnes of love winging it's way across the globe, back to all of you.
