what are the chances of becoming an admin? are they slim or can anyone really just get it if they play a lot?

All you got to do is apply through feedback. they should let you know of the steps you need to follow.

As for chances, yours are probably as good as anybody else's. You don't loose anything by trying.

to be an admin you have to brown nose existing admins and vote anybody and everybody for the tiniest thing that could be interpreted as breaking the rules.

isketch is rapidly getting ruined as it seems a whole lot of idiot admins have been recruited, who ban people and remove their votes at best for small infractions on the rules, or what is increasingly common is that if you say something that somebody in their sad group of 'friends' doesnt like they immeadiately turn on you and ban you despite not having a proper reason.

nobody who actually wants to be an admin is suitable to be an admin, and should be disqualified on that basis.

That entire post looks exactly like trolling to me. Nothing more.

The current Admins do a better job then you give them credit for and if you even so much as took a moment to even just think about how much they deal with at any one time you would understand why they SOMETIMES make mistakes. Because like you and I they are human (with the odd exception ) As for dealing with even the smallest of things, if you let small things go, users will soon be expecting bigger things to be let go without resultant actions. And then it becomes a case of where do they stop? Do they just let everything go and end up with a mess where you can't play due to the amount of trouble going on because Admins have to let it go. Or do they take the strict route, and maintain iSketch in a sane enjoyable state. So When you think about claiming Admins are unfair again, sit back and THINK for a second about how much they do that you do NOT see. Think about how much good they do, and how much crap they get from users like you because they do such a good job.

As for becoming one, it's a case of sending an email asking how to apply to info@isketch.net Any details you need will then be sent to you.

Thank you Jobe for setting that straight.
Here are some points to check if you are admin material:

1 have a good sense of humour
2 have patience with players.
3 be mature about personal abuse. (free elephant skins available at the Admin Entrance Door, they right next to the boots, whips and duct tape.)
4 have a great sense of humour.
5 you can apply for admin, even if you can't type properly.
6 be prepared to see a lot of genitals, even badly drawn ones.
7 learn to speak 10 languages, it works in your favour.
8 have a wonderful sense of humour.
9 learn the iSketch rules.

If you have all 9, indeed, apply through feedback.
If you have 4 but no humour, we can teach you.
If you have none, please keep playing :D

I arrived a little late on the scene to do anything about our newest member's post before replies were posted. I could delete the whole lot, but as Jobe and Clau have replied in such sterling fashion, I have decided to let the original post stand. Everyone is entitled to their opinions of course, but I will be keeping a closer eye on this thread now as admin abuse is not tolerated here.

what is increasingly common is that if you say something that somebody in their sad group of 'friends' doesnt like they immeadiately turn on you and ban you despite not having a proper reason.

I completely agree with that.

But as for them voting/banning for the smallest forms of rule breaking, I have to disagree. I was in a room with an admin the other day and they were very lenient towards people who kept drawing spaces rather than using the hint button and did not ban/block someone who wrote but explained to them that they were breaking the rules and gave them another chance.

Admin are a collection of people and to me, have always been a pretty good bunch. Most of them don't show any bias towards groups of friends. In fact, a lot of admin are outstandingly neutral and this is what I appreciate about them. The good admin go by what they see in a room, not by what their personal opinion might be. I'm not saying this doesn't happen, but I've never seen it.

As to BumPooWee's comment about nobody who wants to be an admin actually being an admin... why would anyone give hours of their spare time if they didn't want to? If the admin hadn't made that choice to apply, we just wouldn't have any admins. *shudders* at the thought of iSketch like that.

That's not what bumpeewee said, they said that no one who wants to be an admin should be an admin.

I thought that's what I said  What I meant was, if they didn't actually want to be an admin initially, why would they give up any time at all to admin?

Inviting people who don't want to be admin to do it would lead to apathy from such invited admin who didn't want to be there. I hope that's a bit clearer. I didn't miss the point about admin and power that was suggested, but I dismissed it as if you don't care about a role as admin, why would you do it... and if you don't care about being an admin.... why would you care about performing in the role?

I suppose there's always a chance that someone who never considered being an admin was invited and could be outstanding because of their lack of connection to the 'community' on iSketch, but the way the system is I believe you still have to apply.

Hey Raven, check out Jobe's post, it tells you where to send the email.
As he said, email feedback (info@isketch.net) with your interest and they'll let you know the information you need to give them in order to be considered.
Also, take a look at Clau's post to see if you're up for it ;D

Also it is considered by some as impolite to post in a thread without reading it first. Especially if what you ask in your post is already answered in the thread. (Not an official forum rule though so don't worry)
