I never watch these things, they don't appeal, but the lovely wifey had just made dinner and she got control of the remote while I was distracted with food! Evil!
Anyway. Some Scottish woman called Susan Boyle. 47 and looks like a farmer's wife, hair all over the place, eyebrows like caterpillars. Came on and says she wants to be famous, a singer like Elaine Paige ... audience laughing, yeah right that's really going to happen.
She sang ... I cried ... wife all wet-eyed .... Goddam, if she doesn't win I'll be surprised.
BOIL FTW!!!1111""!2! :embarrassed: :embarrassed:

Ahaha I love to watch the earlier rounds of Britains Got Talent.
She scared me sooo much I was like... ahh you know she's going to be bad, then she opened her mouth and it wasn't that bad really :) Ahah.
My favourites off tonights show was the nipple tassle lady because I don't understand (well I do understand but still...) How she got through at all... O-o ahaha.
The wavey arms hand guy, the ferrerro roche (or however you spell it) eating guy. He ate 4 in a minute ;) That's like uhh.. not close to the world record ;) Ahahah xD
Ummm Yeah OHHH the dancers, flawless were amazing. :o ahah :)
Yes I'm sure there was more that'll appear in my mind but I can't remember it at the moment. :) Ahaha but yes, I love that show. :D ahaha, some peoples talents... just yeah. OHHH AND THE King of Dance guy, who didn't dance, and badly rapped :) <3
I forgot the Witch... O_o; She. was. Scary. O_O;

Haha, he was hilarious! I loved the bit when Amanda said that she could easily eat more than 7 Ferrero Rocher chocolates.
the dancers, flawless were amazing. :o ahah :)
I have seen Flawless perform live in my hometown. They are amazing!
That's freaky. I had no idea BGT had started (again!) but went down for a break and that as on. I walked into the living room just as the Ferrero Rocher man was scoffing down (rather slowly) four chocolates.
Susan Boyle was really good. Flawless were... flawless? :o And that family who were singing togther were quite good (well ok, the kids were) the boy was really good and the two little girls were cute.
The 60 year old guy who stood there "dancing" or rather, swaying his arms was funny.

I cried... :embarrassed: I watched it again... cried again. God, she's so good. I don't know what it is about music/a voice so beautiful it just hits you... =)
Lol at Simon at 4:25, and Susan's little jiggy at 6:33  She's so lovable. Hugssss and all the best to herrr <3 =)))

When I was in Vegas we watched the fountains at Bellagio's. Some opera was playing and all the water was being fired in sync. Something about classical music is affecting me these days! I videod a bit of it on my camera, now I can't watch it without feeling sad.

storm, I've no idea what the song is, as far as I know it's all in Italian :P Wifey says she knows who it is and she keeps telling me, but I can never remember.
I'd like to think she'll win because, we always want singers. Comedians come and go, breakdancers all very nice but pull your jeans up boys please, Ferrero Rocher man - Simon said it, do you think the Royal Family will want to watch this? Nope! - but a good singer like Susan Boyle will impress. And she's rather humble too, imagine what her face would be like if she met the Queen? It'll be a beautiful moment. She looked a little bit smarter in the paper today, maybe she's made a bit of an effort to look the part or, maybe she deliberately looked like that on the show to get people thinking she would be no good and then turned it all around.
PS Didn't see Flawless, but on some show last year there were Kombat Breakerz (spelling?) from my town of Coventry, and we did some promotional work for them - what a bunch of dicks! They must think they're in LA or da hood. Boys, you're in Coventry. Grow up. lol ...

I was just thinking, if she kept her looks (her hair, her eyebrows, everything) and didn't conform to society's perception of beauty, I'd love her even more. She's confident and happy with how she looks now, and I hope no one pressures her into thinking she needs a makeover/has to change.

I don't watch Britains got Talent, The X-Factor, Pop Idol and all those things.. but I just watched her performance.. and I was absolutely gob smacked! Not only could she sing.. but it was darn good singing! And she didn't sound "old" either.. if you get me. Not in a bad way. But she could have got away with being someone in her late 20s (at least) singing away!

I cannot believe Mama Trish aka big old disgusting man in a skirt and bra.....has gone through..
It was a horrible routine....he was just shaking his belly to the music then stuck his finger in his belly button and ate it!
Obviously Simon said No. But the other 2 said yes.....why exactly???
I know that Amanda said NO to a guy playing music with his hands because "It's not something you really want to put to the royal family"........

Yeah...
Although I reckon if I had a CD I didn't listen to which was worth at least £1000 I'd probably sell it too, rather than let it gather dust. At least someone would be appreciating it.
And on the other side; if I had a song on a CD I'd rather it was owned by someone who would listen to it than someone who didn't.
I guess it's a little different if you actually know the person though, but it doesn't seem like it's someone Susan knows that well that's selling it, since the card is pretty impersonal.... That's if the card is even from her at all :P

A new look for Susan (http://uk.news.yahoo.com/4/20090424/video/ven-susan-boyle-has-dyed-her-hair-brown-cf04a8a.html)
What do you lot think?
I'm half and half about it. Reasons being:
1. It's nice that she's pampered herself, 'cause at the end of the day, we all look at ourselves and want to change something. Which is why we get haircuts, go to the dentist, etc. But,
2. If she's doing this because she's now "famous" to the world, then I don't think it was needed :(
Maybe there is also a bit of added pressure when she looks back at her performance and compares herself to everyone else, in terms of how she looks. But I really hope that wasn't the case.
She still looks nice judging by the pics.. but I sort of like that shock factor that we got. I think the make over takes it away a bit.. just my opinion though :/

Thanks for the link.
I'm not really that bothered what she looks like.
People saying she should stay how she is was aren't a whole lot better than music/tv people saying she should change her looks. She should do what she feels is best.
It doesn't look like she's gone over the top to me, and I don't think she would. If she were to do something silly like get a facelift it would be worrying.
What I think is that she wasn't expecting world-wide fame, and with her being on the news in other countries like the U.S she wants to look her best. Nothing wrong with that.
storm
24-04-2009, 05:31 PM
Aw...:(
Maybe she wants to look her best and I can understand that, but obviously she would have wanted to look her best when doing her first audition, and if that was her looking her best then where did all these other ideas for "looking her best" come from? Getting a facelift and getting hair dyed is the same thing to me. I feel she has felt pressure from the public's perception of her, and has not made this change based purely on her own feelings.
I feel like a little part of her 'this is me' has disappeared, and been replaced with 'maybe this will stop people calling me "dowdy" '.
I feel a bit sad for her because although they said she didn't like what she saw on telly, has anyone considered the fact that it might have been because she was just someone to laugh at before she opened her mouth?
The judges on the night commented on her looks and explained that's why everyone laughed at her and after she sung they were no longer laughing, but I reckon if society didn't have it stuck in their head that you had to be airbrushed and pretty on the outside to be perfect then they wouldn't have laughed at her before she started singing. Which I think wouldn't have made her feel that little bit more embarrassed.
I hope Susan finds love after this and not just some mean old stinky head wanting her because she's now (rich and) famous. She's a lovely lady who deserves to be happy.

:o Imposter! ;)
You're welcome, dude.
What I think is that she wasn't expecting world-wide fame, and with her being on the news in other countries like the U.S she wants to look her best. Nothing wrong with that.
True. Butttt.. I think she already did look good. So different to other singers in this day and age. I actually thought she had something far more special in her than, say for example, Madonna or Britney, etc. Susan really showed the world that you don't have to be flaunting your 'stuff' in order to be recognised. She went on stage just being her. I admire that.
Maybe she wants to look her best and I can understand that, but obviously she would have wanted to look her best when doing her first audition, and if that was her looking her best then where did all these other ideas for "looking her best" come from?
Hmm, you have a point there.
I feel like a little part of her 'this is me' has disappeared, and been replaced with 'maybe this will stop people calling me "dowdy" '.
Yeah, that's how I was feeling about it.
What really annoys me is all this name calling she got/gets! I mean, come on, there are plenty of women who walk the streets who carry the same fashion/look she had, etc. You don't start calling these people names, do we? Yet, just 'cause she's on tv, everyone's expecting her to look all glam before she even performs. And they have the cheek to call her names. It's just so unethical.
I hate people.
I prefer aliens.
I feel a bit sad for her because although they said she didn't like what she saw on telly, has anyone considered the fact that it might have been because she was just someone to laugh at before she opened her mouth?
Personally, I wasn't laughing at her when she said she wanted to be like Elaine Page (no idea how to spell that), because firstly, I don't know who that woman is, and secondly, even if were a singer I knew, I would've been skeptical - true - but not because she looked unglamourous and unstarlike, but because I would have found it hard to believe that such talent could have been hidden for so long.
The judges on the night commented on her looks and explained that's why everyone laughed at her and after she sung they were no longer laughing
Frankly, I thought it was rude of the judges to judge her appearance; it wasn't their place to suggest that the audience didn't find her a blonde bombshell. I know they're not there to be nice, but it was still unnecessary. I can understand passing a judgement on someone's appearance for professional reasons like their image not fitting the song, but this is an audition and she looked the part. Perfect song choice, incidentally.
but I reckon if society didn't have it stuck in their head that you had to be airbrushed and pretty on the outside to be perfect then they wouldn't have laughed at her before she started singing.
Unfortunately, that's how life swings.
I just find it all so frustrating, because I want her to be comfortable with herself and not be at the mercy of the pressure of public opinion.

Did the judges comment on her appearance after her audition? Piers said something along the lines of "when you stood there with your cheeky grin and said you wanted to be like Elaine Paige everyone was laughing at you" and the other two didn't even touch on her appearance unless it wasn't shown. No one said anything like "people laughed and expected you to be rubbish because they don't like how you look".
I expected her to be rubbish because she was acting stupidly in the same sort of way that the deluded or in-it-for-a-joke singers act, not because of how she looked.
but obviously she would have wanted to look her best when doing her first audition
Not necessarily, a lot of people (particularly the singers) audition in their usual clothes etc.
It's true that dying her hair is a bigger change than usual between auditions and live shows but if I were to blame it on anything other than her own choice it would be the audience bursting into laughter when she said her age was 47.
I think the "this is me" image has been 100% put on her by the public. She did nothing differently in her audition than a lot of other people. I think her fans are trying to make her something she doesn't necessarily want to be, and it's unfair to try and make her into a statement.
I feel like a little part of her 'this is me' has disappeared, and been replaced with 'maybe this will stop people calling me "dowdy" '.
To me, it could just as easily be "if I make myself a bit more glamorous maybe people will stop liking me for looking the way I look and just judge me for my singing." When the public get behind someone because of a sob story or some other reason like with Susan Boyle, the person is straight away given an advantage. After all, the only things people have been saying about her appearance have been the kinds of things you're all saying so I don't see where this "you should change" pressure is supposed to be coming from, because it's hardly the majority view that you hear.
If we're going to say that Susan Boyle has shown that image doesn't matter (and she isn't the first person to do this anyway), then it shouldn't matter if she's changed hers.

I haven't seen any backstage clips, I'm going on what was said after she sang. It was suggested by Amanda when she said "I am so thrilled for you because I knew that everybody was against you", and Simon says "I knew the minute you walked onto that stage that we were going to hear something extraordinary" (obviously joking, but that shows that he was thinking about her appearance).

I didn't mean "this is me" as a way to make her a statement. I just thought it read better.

I agree that sob stories help. The pressure though...
There's pressure, but not direct pressure. If everyone goes around saying someone looks like ♥♥♥♥ but they're still a nice person, said person is still going to feel hurt/uncomfortable/doubtful about themselves. Depends on the person, of course, because some people like going against the flow and being different, but Susan doesn't seem that kind of person, to me.

Hmm, okay, I just watched all the above-mentioned acts.
Mr. Methane - I pity the act that had to use the mike after him. Nuff said.
Jamie Pugh - thought he was good, but Susan is better. His whole shyness thing was endearing though.
Greg Pritchard - not a big fan of opera, and it didn't send shivers down my spine, but he was yet another interesting example of 'don't judge a book by it's cover' xD
Sue Son - not a big violin fan either, but I thought she was good. Did she play Storm by Vivaldi? Woohoo. She reminds me of Vanessa Mae... Although Vanessa Mae plays Storm with far more style. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PNc278W45ck)

Just to correct youu (not that i'm trying to be mean or annoying sorry :( ) Vivaldi didn't name the movement Storm - this is what Vanessa Mae called her performance of that movement (which Vivaldi wrote to represent a thunderstorm) and since then the original piece appears to have become widely known as Storm, much to my annoyance .

OMG. :| I just.. I'm speechless :|
I can see him doing that in front of the queen.. But farting along with 'God Save the Queen' instead..
And wow, it really stank.. and reached the judges? :| Yikes. I'm quite disturbed by that performance, lol. I was cringing, yet laughing at the same time. Didn't realise I could do that, lol..
The problem with Sue Son is that to many people her act will have seemed very impressive, but the truth is there are lots of people my age who are much more technically advanced violinists than she is.
On the other hand that's probably quite harsh. I forget to take into account the amount of confidence it must take to perform infront of all those people and the short amount of time in which she had to prepare it, aswell as making it 'look good' to impress the viewing public who aren't all violinists.
Taking all that into account I think she did very well in her performance. The problem is by this stage the judges might have been told what's what and perhaps if they have been informed that she's, technically, not a brilliant violinist, it might hinder her chances of progressing further in the competition? Idk.
I think she seems like a very nice person but OOH she left her friend :O controversial. xD

I like Sue Son, really I do... but I doubt very much whether she is good enough to win the show. We probably wont have heard the last of her yet... but anyone remember Escala (in last year's BGT)?
In case you don't (or want a trip down memory lane)....
ESCALA (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uNFs5nqY4sQ)
They were very good - but in fairness... it is nothing new (remember the "Girl Band" Bond?)

Makes you think....would you ever leave your friend for that opportunity?
Depends on how good a friend i was leaving!!

She wasn't leaving her friend for life. It was just to perform solo. She can be a solo artist and still be in a band with her friend. Besides, she said they're still best friends.
If I'd been the girl who was left behind, I'd have wished the best for my friend.

I personally believe that the producers of BGT made a mountain out of a molehill on this - it makes interesting viewing and creates the illusion of drama *sigh*
I would have done the same (either way). Life is about taking chances after all :)

Britains Got Talent starts the semi-finals tonight! 40 acts have got through to the semi-finals. Each night this week, 8 acts will perform and 2 of the 8 will go through to the final. Tonight we have:
Sue Son (Violinist who was given a second chance at the auditions)
Darth Jackson (Entertainer - if you can call him that - lol)
Julia Naidenko (Belly Dancer who mesmerised the judges last night)
Nick Hell (Odd guy who likes to swing bins from his ears )
Diversity (Dance Group who appeared in the first program)
Faces of Disco (Comedy duo who disco dance)
Natalie Okri (10yr old singer who wowed the judges)
Susan Boyle (Hot favourite, already caused a worldwide sensation).
Can't wait for tonights show

I hadn't seen all of these acts, until now. Just youtube'd them all.
I think there are gonna be some close calls with:
Diversity
Natalie Okri
Hollie Steel
and Susan Boyle.
Personally, I'd like to see Diversity and Hollie Steel get through. There's something about the talents they have that make them stand out.
I thought Fred was great, hehe. But, I don't think he's gonna get through. I do like Susan, but I just feel there's too much hype over her, considering there are other great contestants. I mean, I came on the net, and what do I find? Loads of sites announcing that Susan got through to the semi. It's like she is the only person on the show -_- I actually don't think she'll win at all...
Darth, Nick and Julia, for me shouldn't have gone through to the semis. Shoot me. What were they thinking? Especially with Darth and Nick!
I don't mean to be rude towards Julia's talent, but I've seen many belly dancers on the tv, and what Julia did was nothing more special than what I've seen. There are plenty of people in Britain who can do that - if not better than she did. She just happened to be reeeally pretty and was dressed well, so she got the boys' attentions :P

I just watched Diversity, Julia, and Natalie Okri.
Diversity were all right. Am I missing some pop culture reference here because I didn't find that choreography really imaginative or anything. It just seemed like a bunch of random moves thrown in together, to me. I thought their diversity was cool though. And the wee boy with the brown afro is gorgeous. He's so cuteee.
Julia's nothing incredibly special, I think. Very pretty and good dancer but not particularly impressive.
Natalie, on the other hand, WOW. She has a very loud and clear voice. I loved it. Completely agree with Piers - "you're a very, very, little girl with a very, very, big voice". <3

Excellent first semi-final tonight. I'm very pleased that Susan Boyle and Diversity got through to the finals - they were easily the best acts tonight.
I agree with Simon regarding Natalie and her song choice - it just didn't do it for me and at times you couldn't hear her sing due to the loud backing music. She is young so she will bounce back and be stonger - I don't think we have heard the last of her yet.
Looking forward to tomorrow night :)

Lol. Right. Firstly, my gosh the whole show. There have been some amazing acts and some really really terrible acts xD And... in my personal opinion some of the people they have put through to the semi finals don't deserve a place there. Like in tonights 8, I don't see why Nick was there, and also Darth Jackson. Hmm.. But yes. Also Sue Sun. Hmm -shrugs-
Right. Diversity. Amazing <333 I love them so much. I do think that they come out with some really imaginative moves and link them all together in such amazing combinations, with little recovery necessary, each move just flowing to the other. :)
Sue, she reminded me of a bond girl tonight :P She was good, but tonight she wasn't good enough, I don't think she showed off enough off her violin playing skillz.
Natalie, I think picked the worst song tonight to do and that ruined her chances of getting through really.
Julia... She's amazingly pretty, but I don't think we saw enough of the belly dancing. That's why I was disappointed :(
Faces of disco just made me laugh so much tonight :) ahaha :) Loved it. :)
And of course Subo. She was great tonight. I kinda... She reminds me of a cuddly little wifey. Who is a bit quirky and odd. Watching Britains got more talent and seeing her body popping.. :P ahahah. :)
But yes, I'm happy with who go through tonight. :)
I just want to add Subo is actually... Completely and utterly barmy. Loool. Ahaha. :P I really can't wait till tomorrow though. It's going to be so close. :O

Ahaha Right Time to prepare my Act by act love of this show.
Right. DJ Talent. Man For some reason tonight I loved him xD ahahah He was just funny and yeah Covered in gold Lolololol Ahaha. Won't win, but still I hope he releases a single :D (Y)
Merlin. My gosh. I was actually like gripping cushions on the edge of my seat. :O Man. And then Amanda and simons little row about it xD Ahaha. It's like. The point is that he would have dropped on his head, not that he would have burnt to death -_- xD
Hot honeys. Meh. They were attractive and they dance well, but I thought it was all a bit too trashy. Meh. -shrugs- Just reminded me of every other pop group dancers that we have.
Jamie. Aww. Bless him, he seemed so nervous all the way through. But I did think his voice was a bit flat tonight and his nerves really did get to him.
Peter. Hmm yes, I completely agree with Amanda on this one. I was let down. All he did was stand in the middle, mime a little and jiggle a little. I WANTED MORE DANCING :( Hmm
Gareth. Ahahahaha What's the difference between simon cowell and a coconut? Just classic xD ahaha That actually had me in stitches. xD but man could he throw his voice and sing O-o :O That was pretty good :) I kinda wanted more jokes though, but yeah :)
Shaun. <33333333 I am in love with this boy. He's just. :o :O :O He's the whole package :) <3 Ahaha. :) Mm he did a really good job tonight. But.
Oh man. FLAWLESS. Were basically Flawless. SO tight. So clean. So slick, all merged together. Just. It was a great great dance routine, and they performed it amazingly <333
Man I'm such a squealy fan girl -_- xD ahah I've just been jumping up and down and squealing this whole time xD ahah xD
AHH not scary Escada Espada Whatever. :) They scare me. xD They just remind me of the stepford wives or whatever. Just robotic and scary xD
YESSS I'm very happy with who went through :D <3333 xD Omnomnom :D

Personally, I think Gareth should have gone through to the finals yesterday :P
Come on.. he clearly was the most talented out of the two of them, in terms of what they could do. And he did it well. He was miming, managed to switch voices really fast, as well as doing different voices.. and then to top it up, he could sing well too. And told a funny joke. He gave us variety.
It annoyed me that Simon just ruled him out completely. God, this isn't Pop Idol or the X Factor. It doesn't have to be all about singing/dancing. Which I believe Amanda said, and she still went with Gareth. But in her defence, I guess she did say she was going with the one that she thought performed better.. Meh.

I disagree Nerdy. Out of complete packages, Shaun had it. He's got talent, it may not be shown in that way and since we're so used to singers it may be hidden. But. He has a lot of talent to be able to sing the way he does and make it sound effortless.
I'm not saying Gareth was bad, he did an amazing act, and it made me laugh, but I think it was lacking something. You said he gave variety, but most of it was him singing really. And so he's just the same as the rest. -shrugs-
Lol Just watched last nights show. I swear the judges are either running out of talent to put through or have gone a bit odd with their choices xDD Ahah. But yes.
I don't really understand about the whole human sax thing. xD ahah. And the wheelbarrows hadn't improved really. (They looked well cute though, like they'd stumbled in from the farm and stuff :) ) Harmony were okay. The florist singer. I never got. xD ahah. Just. An odd show tonight.
AND My Gosh Hasn't Simon got mean. I think as the shows go on he just says everything that goes through his head without thought for the person, even though he's famous for that. Still -_- Lol.These things are going to be going through their heads anyways. -smacks Simon- I wonder how many people he can make cry before the end of the show. lol. There must be some kind of world record he's setting. xD And also, I'd like to see your head on fire whilst you're dancing around. It's not big enough. URGH -smacks-
But yeah, 3 acts stood out for me tonight. And they were the ones that got chosen by the public. My gosh. And I was in tears at the end. It was sooo sweet :3 Ahah. And the stavros flatley guys or whatever, the dads voice went so high xD ahaha. But yeah. They were all good. The stavros guys make me smile :) and kinda bob along to the beat. And that kid. My gosh. His voice. We've got a lot of amazing singers that have been going through. Hmm.. This show is Britains got talent and everyone that has got through to the finals have got talent :) Whether or not they would be better suited to another show is a different matter because this show is about talent in any shape or form. You can't just cut out the singers, because you have to have talent to sing at the levels they've been singing at. :)
I wasn't surprised MD show group didn't get through. They were just dancing in a group, nothing special, nothing fancy. Such a shame. Same with the barrow boys although they were great fun in the audition stage.
Gareth? - the ventriloquist guy - he had a variety of talent. The fact that he had clenched teeth and able to sing very loudly shocked me. I was so sure it was a tape being played. He was good, funny and completely changed his act from the audition stage. Such a shame he didn't go through.
I didn't like the song Shaheen was signing - the audition song was a better choice imho.
Stavros Flatel were funny. I was surprised they won the phone votes!! Who'd have thought it?!
Argh... lots of FB updates saying that there's 'car crash' telly on and hoping someone 'buggers it up again'. I'm assuming it refers to this, but I can't see it. :(

Just want to say. AWWWWW LITTLE GIRL. COME HERE I'LL HUG YOU :'( :)
I swear. Hmm I really don't like half the acts they've put through this year, we're either running out of talent or amanda and piers have been left to run the show and have ignored simon -_-
Awwwwwwwwww @ Hollie. Poor thing but she was so brave!! My sister cried twice watching her cry lol xD
Thank giddy she went through. If Greg Pritchard or whatever chose a really good song and performed well it might have been a tough choice for the judges to make. However, I think they would have felt like right meany pants if they did say no to Hollie. She was so cute, bless her.
Here's her first chance gone wrong (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UdlaH5GyZr8)... cos I'm mean if nobody saw it. And there's no upload of her second chance. But don't you just feel so awful for her? :(

Her second chance is here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4P0Lq8iEdbU&annotation_id=annotation_635432&feature=iv).
Lol I thought it was ironic they said she won't get nervous because she has nerves of steel, then she has a nervous breakdown.
I'm glad she didn't throw a a huge tantrum though when they told her there wasn't enough time for a second performance.
And, Oh My God... what was Amanda wearing?! Looked like some mutant Bjork swan costume.

29-05-2009, 11:04 PM
They didn't give the juggler a second chance when he started going wrong, so a bit unfair that they let Hollie do it twice.
So who is your money on? Hollie's 25/1 - I'd stick a tenner on that. Just a long enough shot to make me some profit.
Susan Boyle is becoming irritating ... that breakdancing kid whose name I don't remember is good, I was disappointed that Callum Francis didn't get through with his Jungle Book dance routine.

Lol. The Juggler didn't go wrong.. He just didn't have a good enough act. (Y) Lol.
And ahah Hmm.. My money is on.. I dunno There's so many good acts. I think Aiden (The break dance kid) Might have a shot, I really like the saxaphonist.. (L) I hope boyle doesn't win but yaah. -_- Hmm.I dunno. THe other two dance groups have quite a big shot. I think, at the moment it's a mixed bag. :)
Lol. Callum didn't get through cuz they thought the grand dad wouldn't be able to do it next year but he would.. -_- Well that's what I got from their comments xD It could be true, but yeah :P

I thought that! The first time she kinda cried and got scared I thought it was a part of the act. Then she cried again and I was like "Oh... awww"
Aiden (breakdancing boy was good) and I felt bad for Callum (Jungle book boy) because Simon wanted to give the old man a chance. Which was fair enough and kinda cute. I'm glad Callum didn't cry though *pats him on the head and hands him a banana* :)
As for Amanda, I found it hard to breathe just seeing her in that dress. Erm.... not in a pervy way.. in the omg-it's-too-tight kinda way! :p

Awwwwwwwwww @ Hollie. Poor thing but she was so brave!! My sister cried twice watching her cry lol xD
For the record, AJ wasn't referring to me. She was referring to my older sister, lol. However, I was watching it on the itv site, and noticed that they said it was her second chance and how brave she was. I couldn't work out what happened the first time round and couldn't find it within the site. So I youtubed it. Which I thought was probably a bad idea after I watched it. Gah! Not only did I cry when she stopped singing and while she was crying... but I was clearing my face up and getting over it a little while she was drinking water. Until, of course, they said she couldn't have a second go! And she made me cry again! *sigh*
I don't know what's wrong with me. Recently I just can't watch people crying. Hurts too much :(
And I agree with Deady about Callum. I really thought he'd get through. But no, 2 grand stole it! I actually thought they were bad singers together. Sorry..

Ouch. I think that's a bit harsh. Okay, we don't know if she really wanted to cry or whatever. Or if it was planned, but at the end of the day, why would someone stop mid performance and risk losing out on a place in the finals? They could have quite easily have said no you can't have another shot (which is what they said at first, anyways). I thought it was genuine, to be honest - whether or not it was shown with tears or not. She's only 10. It's not the easiest thing in the world to stand on a stage like that with such an audience. Not only that, but it was a huge thing for her. And it's being watched worldwide too.
I think people need to give her a break.

I think she did genuinely forget the lyrics, but I think the crying was fake. I've known kids that do the fake-crying thing to manipulate their parents and get what they want. Perhaps she was just hyperventilating because she was so worried, but I didn't believe the crying.
I'm also a little sick of the "she's only 10" argument. Yes, she's only 10, but it was her decision to join the competition, so why shouldn't she be judged the same as everyone else? (ie not getting a second chance) It brings up the debate on whether or not everyone who gets flustered now should get a second chance. I personally have no qualms about the fact that allowances were made for her, most likely due to her age. I think because this is an unusual situation, there will be some debate about what happened. But we all have learned to expect that by now, haven't we? :)
I like her voice, and I'm glad she got another chance to perform. I'm not trying to bash her or say she should have been eliminated (I'm glad she got through to the final), I was simply making the statement that I thought the crying was incredibly fake.

I think whether or not she got a second chance, she would've gotten all three votes anyway, because she was good until she stopped.
I think getting a second chance might actually add more pressure though, because you've got to redo what you did the first time at the same level - or better.
You have to agree though that her ending was fantastic? Those last three notes were phenomenal.

Diversity were awesome and blew my mind! I could watch them again and again and again.
Also............SO glad that Susan Boyle didn't win. She was good but waaay overrated with all the fame she got.
(Please don't shoot me).......But i kinda agree with what Gracie said about Hollie. Not about the fake crying - i'm sure she was upset - but about the whole "She's only 10" thing.
I'm pretty sure if any of the other contestants were to cry then they would not have had the chance she was given. And even if her was voice wasn't great....i think the judges would have put her through anyway because of her crying and "She's only 10". But that's just my opinion..
Stavros Flatley were great! =)

When I wrote "she's only 10"... It was more that she doesn't have the maturity to deal with the pressure as much as everyone else around her. It's more than likely that you'll find a younger child cry due to nerves than an adult. Not saying all the time. But generally, that's just the way it is. Kids show those emotions more than an adult would. That other 10 year old girl.. Okri? She cried when she didn't get through to the final. I thought that was sad too. But mostly because it must be so difficult standing up there.. alone!
So yeah, I felt for Hollie 'cause she is young, she wanted it badly, but got really nervous and lost it a bit. Whether or not it was a right decision to let her have another go? Dunno. But I just feel an adult wouldn't have reacted that badly. We just don't expect adults to cry on stage and ask for another go.
Shaheen: Has anyone noticed that Shaheen sounds like he's gonna break his voice? I know everyone liked him.. I did too.. but each time I've heard him sing, sometimes it sounds like he's shouting.. and then other times it sounds like his voice is breaking :S I wasn't sure if it was just me though..
ANYWAY.. DIVERSITY! :D Whoo!
I knew they were gonna win! For me there was no, "it's gonna be close" thing. I'm really glad Susan didn't win (even though I did like her). She was just in the press too much for my liking, to be honest. Like Lovi said, she's gonna be famous without even winning. And I reckon she'll be earning a lot of money from now on, anyway. For the boys, it's gonna be a life changing experience in a completely different way! I loved the scorpion thing they did at the beginning :) <3
