Im trying to go on iSketch but it says user name is available and in use and i try about 50 other usernames and it says the same thing.. Please send a private message to me to tell me whats wrong and what should I do.. thank you!

I suspect you are hitting a full server and getting this message instead of the correct one. Isketch is pretty full right now so I suggest you keep trying.

I just got in, player count was 2006 - then refreshed and tried again and it said my username was already in use.

I assume it's the same issue as with the connection problems (http://www.isketchforum.net/connection-errors-t2140.html) message.

I got on eventually, but the lag is terrible quite a lot of the time.

I noticed that if you use Internet Explorer instead of any other internet browser, your chances of getting in are much higher. So if you're not using IE and can't get in, try to switch to IE and connect again.

Nothing would persuade me that using IE is a good idea.

Why what browser do you use? Firefox?
Whats wrong with IE? Heard there might be security and privacy issues.

I recently bought a new imac, those intel based ones. Isketch makes firefox crash on my computer, so i'm forced to use safari. Still, the new tabbed browsing of safari has made it slightly more appealing now. However, nothing will ever make me wanna go back to IE. And even less so if i will keep on owning macs.

Oh and yeah, on topic, isketch is popular, sever capacity is limited. Keep trying.

Lumiére knows that I have had the same problem for over a year but hopefully now resolved. I updated my shockwave to version 10.3 24 yesterday and have managed a few long sessions on isketch using Firefox without crashing :biggrin::biggrin:

The most likely explanation is that there is a problem with the image you used for your icon. To remove the icon, and therefore the problem, you will need to log on to iSketch using another browser, e.g. Firefox (http://www.mozilla-europe.org/en/products/firefox/). Once you are on iSketch, type "/icon" (without the inverted commas) and hit return - that will remove the icon. Then go to settings and use another image - make sure it complies with iSketch requirements.

After that, IE should work, but why not go on using Firefox instead? It's much better!

on isketch i can get to entering my name but was i press ok a few seconds later IE closes :(

Why can't you download Firefox? If you need permission from someone, then ask them because based on what you say this is almost certainly a problem with that image and I don't think there's a way to fix it without getting on to iSketch... and if IE crashes before you can do anything then the only option is to use another browser. On Windows machines you can't uninstall IE so you've no choice really.

I agree with flopsy (I almost wrote Firefox.. rofl!). Ehsanali, if you really want to get onto iSketch, then definitely try her advice. And if you need permission, tell them it's for iSketch, and you can't live without it, just like the rest of us. And that you'll be grumpy and they'd have to deal with you being like that.. forever.. if you can't get on :twisted:

Browser crashes like this can also be caused by bans. I suggest you email feedback.

There's a couple of ways, uninstalling and reinstalling shockwave being one. All profile info would be lost though, not just the picture.

Getting on via a different browser is by far the better option but there's another option for you.

Of course, if you aren't allowed to download firefox, would you be allowed to download shockwave (even though it was already on your computer)?
