I do feel that if we were to expand our mod team so there's a mod on every hour of the day, then there would be more chiefs than indians and would cause bedlam. I do, however, feel there should be another UK mod appointed. We're 2 mods down and, in my opinion, we need to make that up again as the system worked fine before then.
That's just my opinion tho, I'm not saying "hey, this must happen"
another UK mod? psh.
wait. where does 2.0 live?
South america, -4 hours behind british members and -5 behind vik, +2 ahead of gracie, +1 ahead of element. This will change by one hour once DST ends.

Yeah, happens a lot with ottawa too, a lot of people haven't even heard of it. Tons of people i know (family included *sigh*) think toronto is the capital, that canada's covered in snow all year and that we walk around with guns in case of polar bear attacks. Well, last bit's kinda true in the hudson bay and in like nunavut lol. A friend of mine did an arctic tern research expedition last summer in churchill in the hudson bay and was telling me he had to fire a couple of shots in the air to make a curious polar bear change his mind about seeing what he was all about. Oh, and a bird plucked his underwear from outside his tent where it was drying hehe

And even if it is going to have me killed, i'd appreciate if people told mods about random, unrelated conversations in serious threads. I mean, in threads like this one or BM's backyard thread it's fine, but other, more serious threads it'd be nice to have them sparkling clean.

Using the report post triangle or by PM, either way it's fine. But i don't mean going on a reporting spree, i mean report it if it really bugs you that a thread has gone wayyyy off topic. Of course, if i see any they'll be split on the spot. Thanks!

And as predicted, you've already out-posted me, tasha. Girl, you get around fast.. o_o
There were 5 planeteers, forget their names but they controlled earth, fire, wind, water and heart. When the evil litterers or nasty non-environmentally friendly bad guys came up with a fiendish scheme, the team would take action. If they were unable to defeat their foes with their single powers, which would often happen, they would combine and call Captain Planet. The bluest and greenest superhero of them all.
Hell, Captain Planet was by no means the best of the superheroes though. I reckon Bucky O'Hare and his pals woulda kicked his blue butt.
Captain Planet was even later than this little lot... but how much do you know about 80s cartoons? :)

RC: Still not sleeping very well which is really bad timing because my exams start a week tomorrow. Tried to do some work today but am very tired & can't concentrate properly and was getting worked up about everything stupid little thing. :(
First of all.. who on earth says Calpol is yummy?! You've losing it, hun.
And you're probably stressed about your exams, but don't know it just yet. I used to get like that. I never panicked or anything (like you find some people panicking and shouting and just making an awful noise over exams), but sometimes I used to lose sleep over them, too. It's more nervousness - well, it was for me. Heh.
Try and get some sleep though.. the worse thing to find is that you're tired during an exam. Eep.. not good! And you'll do just great. Again, good luck with the revision. :)

Oh, and you managed because you were at college. People had chosen to be there.
I'm in secondary school with people who are forced to be there, and I guess it's not so bad because it's top set, but there are people who take advantage of having no teacher and just piss about.
Ah.. I chose to be there.. if I were forced it would be easier to pass (it takes a lot of motivation - as you're aware - not having a teacher). A lot of people didn't turn up to lessons because we had no real geography teacher. It turned out I was doing better without a teacher.. not sure how..
But yeah, I know you didn't have a teacher for a while.. but I didn't know it was a permanent thing! Just stick at it, hun. You'll find that you can do just as good, if not better, without a teacher. So don't believe that you have no hope.. you've got the chance. Make the most of it. :) There are a lot of good physics revision guides out there, too.. not sure if you have any (?)

I don't think we have a random funnyness thread so I shall put this here.
We have a guy teaching us for maths this term other than our normal teacher, and he's not very good. As our class is a top set, there usually isn't much trouble (apart from the obvious name switching for the first two weeks. Took him forever to figure it out XD).
Today someone got sent in from another class & totally disrupted everything. Was verrrry verry amusing seeing as it never happens in our lessons.
She wrote "cock" on a piece of paper and somehow managed to get it on the teacher's back. He wouldn't have noticed if it wasn't for the fact that the entire class was almost wetting themselves laughing.
He didn't even yell. He just took it off, and got on with the lesson.
o_O
Just thought I'd share. =]
Really? Wow, if that happened at my old school, the teacher would first shout, and then go to our head of year (who would then shout at the person who was guilty), and then she'd go to the headteacher who would.. shout... and then they'd write it in our diaries for our parents to read (all of that made it look like I've done something wrong in the past. Which I haven't, fyi, I was well behaved. lol)
Kids these days get away with a lot.. :P But yeah, that was funny. Hehe. But baaaad... but mostly funny, and also bad...

I was going to post this in the birthday thread, rofl.
Planes and helicopters flew over London (and wherever else) for the Queen. They always seem to fly directly over our garden. Yeah, I'm sad, but I do like looking at them. I tried to take pictures but missed the bests ones because I didn't have my camera at hand and they fly over so fast too! Not sure why, but I thought I'd share one:

Okay tashy and Vik, you wanted to know what I said to my teacher (http://www.isketchforum.net/showpost.php?p=86437&postcount=818). (Gosh, look at me being all good and putting this in chit chat ).
She came in, and poked me. Asked where they had all gone. Bare in mind that I'm not the sort of person who lies or even enjoys lying.. I replied "so and so went to the other room to fix her camera. It was broken". She glared at me. Hard. I then said "and the others went with her?.." (as a question, ROFL!). And then I said "urgh.. I don't feel too good", hoping that would take some of the tension away (yeah, that didn't work :P)
That was at 3 a.m. She went to anther room at 3 a.m (when we were supposed to be fast asleep) to fix her camera and took the others with her? Yeah.. I can't lie to save my life. lol! I've never had to tell such a big (and dafty) lie in my life. It's something we all laugh about 'til this day though. It was 8 years ago and feels like it was yesterday, heh.
What's funnier.. is that my teacher waited in the room with me [insert awkward silence here]. Then my friends started pouring back in the room (through the door this time, not the window) quietly, whispering "shhhh, be quiet, don't wake Ms ***** up. Shuuuusshh. Lock the door". I was trying to give them eye contact saying that she's already in the room, and they didn't notice. They locked the door, turned around one by one and saw her standing there. The look on their faces in that moment? Priceless! Haaa! After she left the room (which was after a good 10 minutes of shouting at us), they asked me what I had told her, and said that I'm hopeless at lying, lol. Gee, ya think?
It was good to see that she was so drunk that night to remember any of it the next morning though! :D And a whole year later, we left that school to move onto college. In our year assembly, a few of my friends embarrassed my teacher by telling her (in front of all the teachers and pupils) what we had done that night, and how she didn't remember it. Again, that was a pretty pricesless facial expression too, hah! But there was no telling us off, because it was our last day of school!
Ow.. I miss those sort of school trips. They were awesome. (:

lol! I really do hope you enjoy your time in Rome, tasha. Make the most of it, hun. When you get older you don't really get to meet up with your friends or go on trips like that. I hope you have memorable experiences that you can laugh about for years after that!
And yeah, I'm still in touch with some of my old school friends from back then. :) We all went our separate ways (different colleges and then different universities). Every now and then we'll check up on each other to see how things are going.

ah, that reminds me of my ski trip... we had some guys sneak over at around 11:30 PM (lights-out was 11.) they just stayed and we talked till about 2:30.. there were some girls who pulled an all-nighter, and we could hear them.. they wouldn't stop giggling, and they ran around banging on peoples' doors.. the teachers were completely oblivious. lol.
it was funny when the guys came over, because at this one point in the night, there was some banging at our door, and we would have gotten in HUUGE trouble if we were caught with boys in our room... not that we were doing anything bad! just talking.. but it was hilarious, because a moment after the first bang on the door, the boys were on the floor, rolling under the bed, burying themselves underneath the bed blankets... lol.. it was just.. BANG* and then boom, the boys were out of sight.

I was on the roads for pretty much the whole hour and a half. She kept saying 'Excellent' so I'm hoping I did ok. She said people don't normally start changing gears in their first lesson, but I did, and that was quite impressive. But I don't know whether she was just saying that to make me feel better. It was a strange experience, but I think I'm going to like it.

:O Wanna know what happened in my first lesson? I drove in a straight line for about 10 metres tops. That was it! My driving instructor drove me to some practice area, spoke to me about how to control a car for ages and made me familiar with the inside and stuff. She drove me to and from this practice area for a good 7 lessons or so before I was allowed to drive home. At first I thought it was a total rip off and my driving instructor was a dimbat but now I see why she did what she did.
I'm actually a very good driver but my sister and dad refuse to take me out in their cars for practice. I tell my dad what I do each each lesson and he reckons the pace I'm learning at is very fast (in comparison to my sisters).
Something I've noticed is that pupils who start driving straight away drive like snails, don't know what to do on roundabouts and make everyone else late! I'm glad I'm not that kind of person. That said, it really bugs me when other drivers on the road think "Oh look, a learner, they must be slow so I'm gonna over take" The number of times people have tried to over take me just because I'm in a learner car is incredible! There was this one time I almost made someone crash... twice because he thought I was a slow driver. Maybe that'll teach 'em ;)

Now I'm thinking back on it though... I think I was pretty pants haha. And I kind of wish she'd started me off on a car park, because it scared me being on the road so soon and I'd rather at least be comfortable with starting and stopping before I'm let loose with other drivers. And I've got this two week gap between lessons so I'm probably going to have forgotten everything anyway. But I'm so not going to be a really ridiculously slow person I hope... if I turn out like that I think I'd rather quit driving. Not that I want to drive too fast, but I don't want to be someone that's always far lower than the speed limit. It annoys me enough as a passenger when I'm behind someone like that.
That being said though, my tutor is quite a slow driver and whilst she was driving me back someone overtook her. Bet they thought she was the learner .

Haha, that's funny!
I really wanna kick learner drivers who do 20 on 40mh roads. Was stuck behind two on the same stretch of road whilst taking my niece to school and coming back.
Have you noticed on some 40mph roads it says "SLOW" after every 50 yards or so? How can you go slow if the speed limit is 40?! Makes no sense lol.
