I'm guessing that, this being a forum for a game, most of you have probably played your fair share of computer/video games over the years. So lets take this opportunity to stroll down memory lane and remember all those classic games of yesteryear.
And I guess I'm talking prior to and including the 16-bit machines. So games on SNES, Mega Drive, Master System, NES, Gameboy, Gamegear, Lynx, Amiga, C64, Amstrad 464, ZX Spectrum, Atari 2600 etc.

Who remembers these?: Manic Minor, Jet Set Willy, School Daze, Dizzy, Marble Madness, Secret Of Mana, Psycho Fox, Chuckie Egg...

And my all time favourite, The Secret of Monkey Island. Classic.

I used to have an amiga. Think i've still got it somewhere. Loved playing Robocod and James Pond, Rick Dangerous, Superfrog, wonder boy. Powerplay and shufflepuck cafe.

On commodore I miss donald ducks playground (sad i know), Summer and winter games, split personailty. I could go on.

We've still got all our old consoles and computers, and all the software, knocking around here - much to my mum's annoyance. I've even got a couple of Atari 2600s and a ZX81 somewhere. I'm sometimes tempted to dig 'em out just to see if they'll still work.

Some old classics, like Manic Miner and Jetpac, continue to have that certain something that, around 25 years on, makes you want to play. I you wonder if any of the games being produced today will hold the same fascination after a quarter of a century.

There are some great emulators available out there that will let you relive your childhood, but be warned - using these can seriously damage rose tinted spectacles:cry:

All my family's old consoles we got at garage sales, probably 10 or more years ago, and by now they're all sold or given away to neighbors/relatives. I remember Atari... and the game Sonic the Hedgehog... and the real early Nintendo console... I remember those sound effects and pixelly graphics, LOL. Good times.

Wish we still had the consoles and games.

I kept a reallllly old computer around a long just so I could play a 3-d pcaman called 3-Demon. It was amazing!

It was from way back when everything had to go through a c prompt to do anything. There were lots of other great and primitive games that I would play on my computer way back in the mid-80s. I might even have the 5" floppies they were all on... rofl.. it's sad, i know.

I used to be offended when people referred to Amigas as 'games machines'. They were also good for work, right? But in retrospect, games were what they were best at!

Definitely remember Shufflepuck Cafe, unfortunately it required quick reflexes.. 'Civilization' and 'Colonization' were my favorite ones.

Deadlock, thank you! Somebody else who loves Bubble Bobble .. I've been called sad for having that game's music as my MySpace theme and phone ringtone (must admit it is rather annoying after a few hours). I wasn't even aware there were proper Bubble Bobble sequels until I started messing with Mame again a while back.

Widge, you can buy anthologies of Intellivision games. There's one for the PS2, but also the PC - details (http://uk.gamespot.com/pc/action/intellivisionrocks/index.html)

If you just fancy a quick stroll down nostalgia lane, this looks interesting (http://games.vh1.com/online.php?gid=33)

Enjoy

Theres a machine trick if you ever find a real Bubble arcade game anywhere... left P1 left jump left P1 left fire. Says "POWER UP!" at the bottom, then put your money in. Gives you pink yellow and blue bubbles plus red shoes from level one.

This must sound so so sad to those who have never played lol ...
