Hope this isn't giving away too many secrets :biggrin:

I was recently discussing things you can type to speed up your guesses for words that are similar.

Two great examples are:

STOVEN - a combination of 'stove' and 'oven'
COMETEOR - a combination of 'comet' and 'meteor'

Others that I do are:
FRILLACE - covers both 'frill' and 'lace'
FEMALE and WOMAN for a person draw as they cover both genders in one.

Would anyone else like to share some of their words?

basink = basin and sink
gemerald = gem and emerald
warmy = war and army
Fathin = fat and thin

Ones stolen from //Loviii--x:

flead = flea and lead for dog draws
grapea = is it a grape? is it a pea? no! its a grapea

I had more but I can't remember :(

STOVEN is classic. I personally do:

ASLEEPING- asleep and sleeping
IMACINTOSH- imac and macintosh

I'm not exactly familiar with the iSketch wordlist though, since those are 2 examples from Yahoo! Graffiti :embarrassed:. Neither are particularly amazing, but they get the job done.

/me sits here making notes of all these combined words to use next time on iSketch.....

I must admit, since I saw NoHints and //Loviii--x first use basink and cometeor, I've started typing in those for guesses too. Seems a handy way of guessing, and like you say Saffron, speeds up your guessing on similar words :biggrin:

Damnnnnnnnnit, I even thought to myself "yep, dessert is definately the right one".

Made me think of words that you should always guess both, because people either read them incorrectly, or have the wrong meaning:

DESSERT - DESERT
SILVER - SLIVER
ARC -ARK
PEAK -PEEK
MOUSSE - MOUSE

You could always play in homophones and use both :biggrin:

Oddly, about 10 minutes after I drew that picture of the leek, somebody drew a leaking pipe. I guessed 'leak', and it was wrong. I immedeately guessed 'leek' and I was the only one who got the word in the end :P
Thanks for the reminder, MrsNerdy
