Hi,, sorry if someone else has already made a topic like this..

I can't get onto iSketch!
I click "Logon" and after a while it comes up with a box sayingg "Connection problems. Check your network settings or please try again later."
It's been saying that for the past couple days.
I've tried clearing out my cache and cookies, I even tried redownloading and reinstalling Shockwave, AND I've tried adding firewall exceptions things D:
Oh and, sometimes when I try to go on other sites, it says "Server can't connect" etc, and someone has told me Telstra Bigponds servers have been messing up, could that be the problem? (Telstra Bigpond is my internet provider thing)

I really wanna plaay!

Hi ruby and welcome to the forum :)

I'm not too sure I'm the best person to answer your question but first off have you tried any other browsers? Sometimes I find it won't work in IE but will in FF or vice versa. I'm also with Bigpond and just checked iSk then and was able to log on fine so I don't think that's the issue. You may also want to check that you dl'ed the full version of shockwave and it is the correct version for your OS and browser.

Sorry I can't be more helpful! Good luck with it, hopefully someone else might be able to post with some other ideas. You could also search around the other help topics as people have posted with similar problems in the past.

I once had a virus that stopped https websites working. isk isn't one of them, but maybe there's something similar, and scanning your comp never hurts anyway (except when it does).

Also, are you using internet from work or some other place where the internet isn't "yours" e.g. University accommodation or something? Sometimes you won't have access to certain ports / sites if that's the case, and yours might have just recently decided to limit access.

I have tried other browsers, still doesn't work ;(
I'm not too good with computers.. but I'm pretty sure I downloaded the right Shockwave etc

check-list through process of elimination

1. check your browser options to see if you're working online/offline (under tabs - file > work online/ofline)
2. disconnect your internet by right clicking the icon(or left to see more advanced options) on the bottom right of screen and after re-connect
3. if you're using a laptop, make sure you haven't hit the switch that turns of broadband
4. take out the plug of your modem and wait a few minutes before plugging it back in
5. make sure all wires are closely fitted in modem
6. ask your ISP to do a connection check either by emailing them or phoning

if none of the aboves helps, then oh well

if it is to do with telstra, then it may happen at peak-time? so during early evening the problems may arise , since usage on the servers is quieter earlier in the day.
