View Full Version : Couple questions

I've only been playing iSketch for about a month and I love it! Anyway, this has happened to me twice now, I've gone to log on to play and been given the message Connection refused! You are banned from the game. (Even though I was never kicked or broke any rules etc.)
The first time I emailed feedback and they apologised and a couple days later I was able to play again. It happened again the other day, so I emailed feedback again. They haven't replied yet, but I was able to get back on a couple days later like before.
My question is, is there something wrong with my laptop/internet or something? It's very annoying to be told I'm banned when I know I'm not.

Another thing, because I've been addicted to iSketch I've obviously learnt a lot of the answers by now, so I can guess words quickly and I win a lot when in a room with people who are newer to the game.
A couple of times people have ganged up and voted to boot me out, accusing me of cheating when I'm not. Will admin start to think I really am cheating? I don't want to be banned for real!

Thanks in advance for any answers.

I would guess that you have a dynamic IP, and that one/some of the IPs it uses are shared with someone who was banned.

Admin shouldn't think you're cheating just for guessing quickly, there are quite a few fast people on iSketch and admins will have seen that situation before and understand it. Also, there's not really any simple way that you could consistently cheat for every word anyway.

They'll be suspicious if you and someone else keep guessing eachothers draws from scribbles or things like that though.

Admins have very specific tools and methods to determine if people are cheating or not. You shouldn't worry about guessing quickly if you're not cheating. Ignore people's accusations if they think you're cheating. If the mob gets rude however, i suggest you find another room. Usually the more challenging rules such as expert rooms or the specialty rooms like Blitz have better players and may be better suited for good players.

I thought this was a thread for questions about couples xD.

As the posters above said, you shouldn't be penalised by admin for correctly guessing the answer as there are quite a lot of people who do so. There are several Easy rooms so if you want to continue playing Easy but the other players in your room are being slightly idiotic, just hop over!

Just to mirror what everyone else has said, admin shouldn't penalise you for "cheating" because the chances of you actually cheating with everyone in the whole room are slim. Administrators know that some players learn the wordlists. I know the Science wordlist very well, and have guessed some words purely from the syllable pattern.
I also know of one guy that types very quickly and very often guesses the words first (he knows who he is), so don't worry about it.

If you suffer from people voting you because they think you are "cheating" or if they are voting you because you are winning, admin would pick up on this and take the appropriate action. You could always try making your own room to avoid random people voting against you.

Just a suggestion there, but I hope you have fun and hopefully I'll see you in the game :)

Hmmm . . . do you have a dynamic IP and if you do, what string of the numbers change?

It seems a common feature that many users are being blocked/banned for no reason. To attribute all accidental bans to dynamic IPs or problems with ISPs is something I doubt has happened.

This random banning has happened for a few months now and nothing like it to the scale of it is now hasn't happened since I've been familiar with the site.
