There are 6 questions in this round.

DOF Music - Question 1
Identify the following 25 musical instruments.

Scoring = 1 point per instrument (Maximum = 25)

All answers should be submitted by Fri 24 July 2009, and you will receive 1 bonus point (not automatically allocated to Music – you can use them at any time remaining in the competition) if you submit your final answer for Question 1 by Sat 4 July 2009.

DOF Music - Question 2
Draw a picture that depicts this (or a part of this) song. (“Piano Man” – Billy Joel)

It can be in any format the forum supports, in any artistic style, and you can depict any part of the songs words/the chorus/the title/any phrase etc. You should indicate which part of the song you have depicted.

You can only enter one picture.

Scoring = You will get 20 points for entering a picture. In addition, there will be a poll style grading – forumites will be asked to rank each picture similar to the way the Turkish forumites rank their competitions. The person with the largest score will receive points equal to the number of entrants, second place will be one less, etc down to 1 additional point for the picture scoring least points.

There will be an Honourable Mention in the Awards thread for the winner of this poll.

All images for Question 2 should be submitted by Fri 24 July 2009.

Whilst you are creating your masterpiece for Question 2, identify the song titles from the following images and find the artist of the song. Credits to Sybarite for the drawings:

Scoring = 2 points for each song and artist (Maximum = 42) If a song has been released by more than one artist, I will accept any of the bands/singers who released it as the answer.

Scoring = 2 points for each song and artist (Maximum = 66)

There will be an Honourable Mention in the Awards thread for the person/people who get(s) the most songs correct

The total maximum score for the Music Round is 296 points, which includes:
253 points from the Music round itself,
25 maximum available bonus points from entering the Dux competition,
10 maximum available bonus points from entering all 6 English questions early,
4 maximum available bonus points from entering the Science questions early, and
4 maximum available bonus points from entering the Music questions early.

Yeah, I make it 292 as well (total from music round I think is 249, not 253.)

(And in q3 there's some 2 point answers I'd give 1 point and some 1 point answers I'd give 2 points :twisted:)
