Hey everyone, the forum will be down for an hour or two this weekend whilst I update to vBulletin 3.7.

3.7 looks like it's got a whole bunch of exiting new features, a lot of them web 2.0ish. You can have a sneak peek of these features at the thread (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=249460) on the vB forums if you like.

I think the user profile thing is good; I'm sure there'll be some people here who'll like that level of customisation :)

I like the recipricol friends idea and I think the photo album thing will work well here for studio sketches and maybe other stuff too.

Thread prefixes is a great idea; I'm sure we can find some use for those. Thread tagging will be nice and I'm sure a tag cloud in the help forum will do a world of good.

So, yeah, I'm pretty happy about this update... feel free to discuss it and feedback about how you think the new features would (or wouldn't) fit in here :)

Hey!

I think it's pretty cool! If you get version 3.7 do we get all the new features or can you pick?

Social networking and friends list - hm. So Myspace and facebook... not my thing at all.

I think in general it's gonna make our little community here more fun and colourful and give us more stuff to play around with, so that's great! Oh and I think tags are a fantastic idea, especially for the Help threads, as you said! :)

Danke for the update Peter.

I agree with storm, tags are definately good, and not just for the help section.

I also probably wouldn't use the profile/friends type thing, but it's pretty easy to just not use it if you don't want to, and there's probably lots of people who would like it.

I like the photo album as a studio idea.

Is the edit history shown in the vB thread viewable by everyone or just mods?

The post edit history is only available to mods and admins as far as I can see.

And also seems to show to the post's author too.

So....... did we get the update? :s

Check the bottom of every page where it says " Powered by vBulletin® Version <version>"

When that changes to 3.7 or higher then you know it's done.

/me looks and still sees Version 3.6.8

I think some of the coming changes are pretty neat. Cant wait to try some of them out, especially the tags and the social groups.
