Would you like to see the forum games posts to count toward your number of posts? I know I would! I love the forum games as Im sure a lot of you do as well... so, Im opening this poll to see if im alone in this wish or are there others who would like to see this as well.

Lol, I'm with tasha on that one. Heaven knows what my post count would look like.. :P
Eek! So I voted no. :) But it wouldn't bother me if it did happen. I'd just shy away from the games forum for a while

What are we counting to post count? Do you mean the comments that a person leaves behind after (s)he gets a high score? Sorry if I don't get it; I'm a bit slow ;P

I would say sure, why not? I actually didn't know they didn't count, was wondering why my posts didn't go up, because I mostly post on the games, they're fun! :-)

They mean the posts in Forum Games (http://www.isketchforum.net/forum-games-f18.html), Deadpan. Not the Arcade.
I think the not having them count has minimized or perhaps eliminated postcount competitions on this forum. On other fora it's insane the way people compete to have the highest postcount, so they just plaster the forum with useless gibberish, because apparently having lots of posts somehow relates to prestige (i imagine because they can be perceived as lots of contributions). Then again, it might be our mindset that keeps such ridiculous pursuits off the forum, who knows. Anyway, i also think some threads of general discussion should be geared this way since some threads make little fruitful contribution to the purpose of this forum, discussing isketch that is.
They did count when the forum had started, the problem was everyone kept trying to play the games, just for a post count!(I was guilty). To see what the new ranks were at that time, and to be a top poster, I believe were the main reasons. I guess it wasn't a bad way to keep people active on the forum though.

I don't think it should count, because I really don't want my post count to say I've posted 2000 messages... :s I like the fact that right now the forum's only counting posts that actually mean something, and "contribute". I like that I have a relatively low number and achieved forum junkie solely through isketch-related posts. :)

Royal i guess is the end of it, not too hard to get there.

That i agree with, good point. It does encourage activity and some people are bound to make useful contributions, but what about the rest....

Ok, I get what you guys are saying. I know I am guilty of posting a lot on the games threads more than anywhere else. I didnt think about it as just posting gibberish though as I can obtain some good laughs from the games threads sometimes and we do end up learning something about the people that post there. I have been trying to contribute more to the rest of the forum, so my post count has been creeping up.
I can live with it not counting, it was just a thought.
Thanks to everyone that voted!
I'm in a forum that has no post count at all, and it's the most fun, and active forum I'm on. So there needn't be a relation, Dean and 2.0.
Plus, you can have 3 million posts; it won't look prestigious if everybody knows you only post nonsense.
I wouldn't remove them altogether, because I like statistics, but I like that the post counts are limited to the more useful sections of the forum now. I'd like it to stay that way. Many forum games only require a reply that consists of a single word.

Uhhh... I'd love to see my post count to go up on the games thread... Wouldn't that be nice? It's terrible only to see our post count going up only on the 'Humour and Debate Thread' and the Discussion threads... Was so surprised to see many who voted 'No, not at all!' on that poll... So terrible

not reaaallly, because then I'd have 2000 or some God-awful number like that. I don't need anyone knowing how much rubbish I post on the games threads!
It's terrible only to see our post count going up only on the 'Humour and Debate Thread' and the Discussion threads... Those threads are actually meaningful, so I don't mind. They're not rubbish (I don't know about the Humour one...does that include posting jokes? Coz if so, I don't really care much to see those posts count...) The debate threads are Godsend. I love them. I don't mind seeing post counts being included there... But I suppose it would be complicated to have some threads count and some not, so...all or nothing.
Was so surprised to see many who voted 'No, not at all!' on that poll... So terrible :eek:If your post count means that much to you, then surely you could contribute to the iSketchy threads and have it go higher
