Hi all ~ Tis me, Adrienne :)

So, I've had politically charged conversations with people in isketch for a couple years now... much to the chagrin of some (sorry, but it interests me and I think it's so important)!

There is something going on in Vermont, that the media isn't covering, and I want to spread it across the country and the world like wildfire. What better forum to try and accomplish that than here in iSketch!

This weekend I was a part of a Bring The Troops Home Impeach George W. Bush and Dick Cheney Barnstorming tour of Vermont with Cindy Sheehan, John Nichols, Dan Dewalt, my fellow Iraq Veterans Against the War vets Matthew Howard and Drew Cameron, and others. We gave testimony in front of the Vermont Senate, speaking about our experiences in the military, and I got to go on record with the Vermont Senate calling for George W. Bush's impeachment... as a domestic enemy to our U.S. Constitution. Then we visited 11 towns in three days, speaking out about our experiences to extremely kind and receptive crowds. It was an inspiring experience. The tour was awesome, except for the fact that some republican hired stoog followed us around all day Sunday, heckling us, and threatening Matt with prison time for speaking out about his experiences in Iraq.

Today is town meeting day in Vermont, and 23 towns have already voted on impeachment resolutions. If we can get the Vermont legislature to listen, either the state capitol or our US Congress Rep. Peter Welch, both have the power to call for Bush's impeachment... and if they do, the US Congress has to address the issue of impeachment.

I really feel strongly that the time is right, right now, for us to do right by the world and get rid of George W. Bush.

Here is what YOU can do... and please, if you feel as strongly as I do about things, please do one or all of these things.

First, you can go to http://www.vtimpeach.com/frontPage.do and get all the info about the impeachment process here in Vermont. There is a petition where you can ask the Vermont legislature to listen to the people of Vermont and vote on impeachment.

You can email TheDailyShow@comedycentral.com and beg them to cover this grassroots movement. The mainstream media in this country sucks, and no one is covering it. Wouldn't it be awesome to see Jon Stewart talking about impeachment!

Thirdly, you can email your own reps, or Peter Welch here in Vermont, and tell them that it is their duty to protect and defend our US Constitution and our country and our very way of life. Find your rep's email at http://www.house.gov/writerep/

Thank you so much... I have loved meeting so many great people in iSketch. And please, whether you are for or against impeachment, it is only right that in America we should be able to debate the matter with civility.

Wow, how thorough. Maybe some of the American members might be interested in this. Good luck.

Impeachment? Isn't that something to do with canned fruit from Georgia ?

Good on you for taking a stand on something about which you are clearly passionate. Hopefully some of your fellow northern-hemispherians will have similar feelings and be prompted to do something about it.

Thanks. I just want you all to know that there are Americans who are trying to do right by the world and get rid of this guy.

P.S. I don't think you have to be an American to email The Daily Show... I think it would be a hoot if he got emails from iSketchers the world over asking him to cover this story :)

EDIT: Quick update... 32 towns (last I heard) have passed impeachment resolutions. We're really excited up here. With everything going on (i.e. Libby's indictment and the controversy over Walter Reed, etc.) something big is going to happen.
