When I logged into this forum, it told me that I had entered a wrong password or username and that I had used 1 out of 5 login attempts, but I looked in the corner and I was logged in... Is this just a glitch?

Thank you,
Tylar

You've managed to post so you've certainly logged in...

Possibilities:

If you come to the forum from a link in favourites or other it may be set to the log in page - so you will be prompted for a username and password, but could be logged in already :S Also, the address www.isketchforum.net (http://www.isketchforum.net) with nothing afterwards has a habit of not having you logged in, even if you've already logged in (whereas the address http://www.isketchforum.net/index.php keeps you "logged in"). That's just something I've noticed before and someone else has commented on, but I'm trying it now and it's not doing it so maybe it was fixed in the forum update (it definately happened though!)

My guess would be that you were already logged in but were asked for one reason or another to log in, made a typo in the password, so you got an error message but it didn't matter....

But I know nothing about these things...

If it hasn't happened before or since, I wouldn't worry about it.

The page when you were not logged in was backed in your cache, so when you logged in and redirected to www.isketchforum.net after logging in your browser didn't bother to check for changes in the main page and just showed you whatever it had stored in the cache, the page where you don't appear to be logged in. So you can log in 100 times but until your browser bothers to check for changes, you're just seeing what's stored. Happens sometimes. Clearing your cache every once in a while helps. But once you log in once, even if you see that you're not logged in, just click on any thread or new posts or whatever and you'll notice you're logged in. Happens to me quite often with firefox.

If this is not the case, then perhaps your internet security settings or a spyware program running in the background is blocking the forum cookie, which is a necessary bit to log in. If so, i suggest placing isketchforum.net in your 'safe sites' list on your spyware program, or lowering your internet security settings to medium so it takes 1st party cookies but not 3rd party ones.

Okay. Thanks. Just a little awkward.
