Hello All,

As of today, I have been experiencing issues with logging onto the server. Whenever I logon, the Rooms list is blank and it just freezes up. I then end up having to force quit my web browser. I do not know if other users have been encountering the same problem, but any help would be appreciated, as I am an addict of this game! =P

Hey Chey, firstly may I welcome you to the forum :)

The only time I have experienced no-one on the server is when the iSketch server has just recently been reset. I've never encountered an empty Room list.
Sometimes if someone has an avatar that has a dead link that will tend to freeze my web browser. If it is right after you logon, it may be that you have an avatar that has a dead link or you are using a customised background that may have been removed, therefore creating the problem as soon as you logon.

You could always clear your cache to see what happens.

I'm no computer expert, but I hope this helps. Maybe someone else on here will be able to help you further if my solutions don't solve your problem or don't work :)

I do not have an avatar with a dead link, so that cannot be the problem :(
But I'll still try clearing my cache. Thanks for your suggestion though!

Ok, so I've tried the following:

1) Clearing the cache, history, and cookies
2) uninstalling Adobe shockwave player and then doing a fresh install

I seriously don't know what to do at this point, so if anyone who is good at solving these kind of problems, please help me out! Thanks a lot!

I have the same problem, it started just after the shockwave update. The rooms list is empty. It's strange but when I keep the mouse cursor out of the window while logging in, I can see the list also can join a room but when I attempt to look at people's information my browser freezes again:I

We have some cool techie guys on here that know their stuff, perhaps you could provide other info such as OS type and browser type so as it can help these guys sort out your problem :)

Windows xp with service pack 3, both in ie and firefox. I checked the system for viruses. There is no exclamation mark in the device manager. I uninstalled then installed Adobe Shockwave player too many times. I tried other versions of Shockwave too, they solve nothing. And I don't know why they were all in French although English was chosen. And when they come to the file named Swhelp, Norton scan tool appears. I refuse to download it and finish the installation successfully without Norton.
If I try to install again directly without uninstalling it gives an error about Swhelp.

You might want to try to install the FULL Shockwave version , instead of the SLIM version.
Try that and see what happens?
Good luck

This is a bug introduced/caused by the latest release of Shockwave (602).

You need to uninstall shockwave, and then reinstall an old version:

For windows:
http://www.filehippo.com/download_shockwave/tech/5934/

For Mac:
???

If anyone has a link to an old version of Shockwave Mac (601), please post here/PM me - and I'll update this post.

I'm currently able to play games using this version of shockwave. Sure things are not working closer to home?

I use Safari and Firefox interchangeably, because certain things only work on firefox. I'm an owner of a Mac OS X 10.5.8 Leopard. As far as finding the old version of shockwave player for Macs go, I can try searching on google for that. =\

I think i found the old version for shockwave player (601) for macs. I dont know if this is valid though:

http://www.pure-mac.com/downloads/shockwavedl.html

this hasn't fixed my problem of the browser freezing up whenever i hover my cursor over other usernames, though. Other than that, the game doesnt freeze up anymore.

Kindly setup by a blonde man:

Mac Installer:
http://www.isketch.net/sw601/Shockwave_Installer_Full.dmg

Windows Installer:
http://www.isketch.net/sw601/Shockwave_Installer_Full.exe

You will need to UNINSTALL the 602 version, BEFORE installing the above 601 versions.

I think I'm having the same problems as Chey. When I log on to Isketch the studio and the room list is blank. The problem arose when I was told to download the latest shockwaves.
I've followed the advice to delete the new shockwaves of my computer and download the old one and this advise actually worked....for five minutes. Now its doing the whole blank list thing again. Someone please help because I'm starting to get isketch withdrawel symptoms

I keep trying to install an older version but it keeps installing 11.5 (even when I use these links). I'm getting the shakes and sweats from not playing -- please, please, help me.

With the risk of being terribly wrong about this: I read you are installing, but are you first UNinstalling the version you have before you INstall the 601 version?
Just a thought, it might help.

Yes, I did UNinstall and install -- several times. I did follow JASR's link to hyppo.... and after trying several older versions -- IT WORKED!!! Whoo Hoo!!! I'm playing again. I'm whole again!!!

You betcha!!!! I was such a happy camper yesterday!!! I know I need iSketch rehab but it will have to wait until I get my "fix"!!!

Hey! I just thought......they keep saying us old folks need to keep our minds active to avoid memory lost, so iSketch is my therapy! Whoo Hoo! No need for rehab. Also, I am so "spelling-challenged" this game is helpful as an educational tool.

I knew there was a reason I LOVED iSketch! hee hee

Now if we could only have a "G" rated room to cut out the profanity/rudeness/nasties!!!!*sigh*

Hello there... firstly, forgive me for my bad English...
My problem is similar to the problems mentioned above...
I tried follow the links, uninstall the latest version (602) and install the previous too many times, but its not worked yet... I think this is happening because whem I go login, the shockwave plugin automatically is refreshed, and I get the problem again.
Someone can help me? Thanks..

If there's an option when you're reinstalling to turn automatic updates on/off, choose off.

If not, install 601 again, then follow the instructions here (http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/166/tn_16683.html) to turn automatic updates off before going to the isketch page.

Hopefully that will solve the problem.

Your English is fine! Communication is about getting ideas across and you did that very thing.

I'm sorry I can't help you but I'm sure someone here will. Good luck, my friend.

When I get to solve it, I'll post it up!

Hi
this problem happened to me as well. Hopefully isketch finds a way to work around it!
Probably just as well it doesnt work for me since I still have to study for exams...

*update*
I updated to the latest flash. Even though firefox crashed when running isketch, it works perfectly using Google Chrome browser

I tried to use Chrome, Firefox, Safari...
Nothing works!
Then I tried to format my system, and reinstall the windows XP but it not works too.
After it all, I think this can be being caused by a flaw in the system,
or in some software that I have installed as can be seen in this link below:
http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/403/kb403082.html
Many things can be causing problems like VGA drivers, virtual memory, windows update...

So.. I'll try follow the steps of the link...

I hope that this link can be usefull for me, and for other people.

The latest 602 release from Adobe, (ie if you download it from this time onwards), fixes the problems.

They have updated some of the parts of the Shockwave installation which they had changed/broken between 601 & 602.

Sadly they didn't up the version number when they fixed it, so it's a bit of a pain to tell users that they need to have 602, when they already have it....

Get it from: http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/otherversions/

still sounds too scary for me.....I'll stick with the older version for now. Thanks for the info.
