I'm not sure if this would go under the "Help" or "General" forum, so I apologize if this is the wrong section.

I know this is a rather odd question, but I have recently obtained a chat client that allows me to customize certain sounds(e.g. if a person joins a chat room, is kicked from a chat room, etc.). As an iSketch zealot whom has been playing iSketch on and off since 2005, I would love to change the sounds and use the iSketch sound effects; however, I have looked everywhere and cannot find any files for these sound effects.

So my question is, is there any way I can find or record the iSketch sound files so I can use them for my personal use, or is the general public not allowed to use them for their own personal use? I am on a Mac, and there are obviously not a lot of programs that allow you to record internal sound. If anyone whom is able to provide a link to download these sounds or is willing to tell me how I could get these sounds in anyway, it would be greatly appreciated.

And as you can tell, I just recently joined this site(even though I have been playing iSketch for quite some time now), and will try to be active and helpful on the forums in any way I can.

Hiya Russell, welcome to the forum :)

I'm not sure if you need permission from iSketch or if the sound files are public. Either way I think you'd need to ask iSketch's owner (Rob) via Feedback (info@isketch.net). Heh, I do like the kick sound, but it can take you by surprise sometimes

Hope this helps and that they can help you too :)

p.s. I think you can post this anywhere in the main iSketch forum :)

I really don't want to bump this, but I've waited for about 2 weeks now and have received no response from the administrator. Are there any other ways to obtain these sound effects?

Just record the audio output. Tools like Sunflower (http://cycling74.com/products/soundflower/) (redirects output, free) or Audio Hijack (http://www.rogueamoeba.com/audiohijackpro/) (not free, but the unregistered version makes recordings up to 10 minutes according to the website) might help...

Audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/) is a popular freeware program for recording & editing. You can set the recording input to be your stereo out mix.

The combination of Audio Hijack(recording the sound) and Audacity(editing the sound file) worked. Thanks, you guys!
