Boys V Girls Valentine Competition!
Round 1


Now that a lot of forumites have signed up, and Jen and I can't really wait much longer, I think it's time to explain the details of this competition.

Round 1 Teams

Shortly you will be invited to your respective groups where you can discuss your answers once you have found them.
These groups are private. No-one on the opposite team can view any part of the group except its existence, so you may post your answers here instead of using PM.

Competition Layout

Round 1: Find the Hearts (24 Points)
In this part of the competition, players must work together in teams and find their respective coloured hearts.
They are posted randomly around the forum in different colours.

Round 2: Find the Message (76 Points)

Round 1: Find the Hearts

The Boys Team should only find the 4 green, 4 blue and 4 purple hearts making a total of 12 hearts to find altogether.

The Girls Team should only find the 4 red, 4 pink and 4 yellow hearts, making a total of 12 hearts to find altogether.

Once you have located a heart, make a note of the post number in which you found it. You do not need to link the post, just the post number will suffice.

Scoring

Each team will score 2 points per correct post number.
Therefore the maximum score for Round 1 is 24.

Submitting

All post numbers should be clearly displayed when submitting.
All answers should be submitted by PM by the Team Captains by Saturday 7th February at 12pm at the Team Captain's time.
Alessadri should submit the Boys Team answers to db1986.
Sorsie should submit the Girls Team answers to jenni939706.

This sounds awesome! Very different to past competitions. And doesn't require me to do a lot. Yay for being lazy :D And YAY for no drawing.. (yet? :S)

This is the reason why we asked you to sign up, so we could see how the groups would form.
It's a new twist on the forum having a team competition. OK, it's not very time consuming as there are so many people in each team, but it's the novelty :smile:

Yes. They can be located in any post belonging to Jen or myself.
Jen probably has more posts than me in some threads that don't count towards the post count because she has been on the forum for longer. However the number of team members should balance this out, roughly.

Only if there is a tie between the two teams at the end of Round 2.

From the looks of things both teams seem to be getting along fine so far. I've seen some good tactics around, so keep up the good work.
Try to find a pattern between all the hearts you have found so far. It might help searching for others.

I reckon us guys are winning tbh.

About the captains - can you ask for volunteers instead of appointing someone? Nothing whatsoever about our captain so far, they have been ace, but if it was me tomorrow for example, I'd not be able to do it. Some people just don't have the time!!

Yeah, I agree. I don't mind being captain. And although you said all the captain needs to do is submit the answers.. when you've been labelled as one, it kinda puts a bit of pressure on you to at least help organise your group for that task.. if you get me. :) I feel bad otherwise, lol.

Mind you.. maybe the problem with asking for people to volunteer is that no one will, hehe. It's only natural that as a captain you feel you gotta be around a bit at least (:

awww XD yah, i get what u mean, but for the first one, we didnt want to tell anyone about the teams, and for the second, it originally was going to be scaredy_cat, but i havent seen her around, so i tried again till i got someone that was coming on and posting a lot

for the third round, i dont think we'll have captains...but we'll see XD if anyone wants to volunteer i guess, post in here then? :)
