OK, here's the Wordsearch part of Round 3.

Locate the 33 Valentine related words in the wordsearch below.
All 33 words can only be found in the grid on one occasion.
Smaller words inside longer words do not count as finding both the short and long word.
Please would everyone work on their own for this round. If you are found to be sharing answers, your team will lose 1 point per duplicate advertised.

You will score 1 point per person per word for your team for each word you find.
There are no extra points for submitting this section early, so you don't have to rush.

hm....think it depends on who said they'd help in round 3...

Yeah, but in our group some people said they'd do it then dropped out, then some people only joined for part of it. I didn't edit the list after those changes and things, so people may well have done it but never said, and vice versa. I wouldn't know.

I've counted the wordsearch average differently to the questions average.

For the questions part, 9 boys and 14 girls have entered. The boys score was calculated for each question using this formula:
Boys Modified Score = Boys Actual Score + ((5/14) x Boys Actual Score)
The 5 out of 14 is due to the fact that there are 5 more girls than boys, and there are 14 girls.

For the wordsearch, 6 boys and 9 girls entered. The boys score was calculated using this formula:
Boys Modified Score = Boys Actual Score + ((3/9) x Boys Actual Score)
The numbers were derived similarly to the questions part.

Each result of these calculations was subjected to normal rounding rules.

Hmmm... OK, I probably shouldn't say this but, doesn't that scoring give the girls the advantage because, for example:


For the wordsearch, 6 boys and 9 girls entered. The boys score was calculated using this formula:

Let's say the max points a person could get was 1. The girls would get 9. The boys would get 6 + ((3/9) x 6) = 8.

So they would be penalised for not having as many participants.

Maybe if you multiplied the boys' score by 9/6 then it would make for up the 3 people they are missing from their team but in a fair way.

Same for Questions calculating - multiply the boys' score by 14/9.

Unless you want to penalise a team for not having more participants?

What you have said, storm is equal to "averaging" out the scores per person.
Like each team's score can be expressed as a percentange of
(Total Score)/(No of Persons played).

I prolly would have just added words like CHOCOLATXS and FLOWERRS to word list for the WordSearch generator to add....:twisted:
