View Full Version : Lost In Translation
Hi peeps!
I tried starting this game AGES ago, but it never really took off - I think cause it was pretty hard to do yourself.
The game is this - put a well known phrase, saying, first line of a song, movie title, or whatever you like that would be recognisable to someone else, into this website
http://tashian.com/multibabel/
and Babelize it, and then post the result for us to guess what the original text was. If you guess correctly you get to take a turn.
Ok here's one to get us going:
'The life span is as framework of the chocolate, never knows you which, you receiving goes'

It didn't take off because it's hard to get the answers to =/
Any hints on how to solve it for those of us *coughmecough* who can't??

I'm guessing that is supposed to be 'Life is like a box of chocolates, never know what your gonna get' from Forrest Gump.
Right, Eric! Well done :)

I can't believe I got that right
Right, here's my one, and I'll give you a clue.....
It's another famous movie quote.
May is the resistance with you.

A small stage for the man, a giant jump for humanity
That would be: One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind

Could it be what goes around, comes around?
In case it's right:
'too much many cooks damage the bubble'
Yes it was Vik. Cool thread btw! :D
Is yours: 'Too many cooks spoil the broth' ?
In case that's right: with the great energy the great responsibility comes
hahaha! "with great power comes great responsibility" XD
the babelize one sounds LMAO. XD
Hehe ICHI, correct, your turn :)
XD wheeeee~~~!!
"decree protects a horse, assembled a supply of the cattles."
I don't know the answer to ICHI's one, but I just want to say that my friend and I used to play this a lot! (but we did it manually -- I didn't know of this site)
ICHI, I honestly can't think anymore on your one. Is it a common English saying or something? Can we have a hint if possible? Maybe in spoiler tags, but only if someone else asks, let everyone else have a think first :)
i'm waiting for vik to get that actually. =PpP
hint: (cheesy) song title...

Since when is my name connected with cheesy songs?
Oh God, no pressure then...
/me wanders off to think
EDIT 1: Is it... 'Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy)'? Because ICHI, if it is, you're in soooooo much trouble :P Why ME!?
(yeeha!)
EDIT 2: In order to give people a better idea of the song I mean, here is an educational visual representation...
