Hello,
I cannot get the countdown timer to work when I'm playing isketch?!?! I've gone into settings to make sure it's selected that I want to hear it and yet it won't work....I've tried playing on both Safari and Firefox. I'm so used to the countdown timer and it's really hard for me to play w/out it!

Has this happened to anybody else? Does anybody know how to fix it? I've got the most current version of shockwave if that matters at all. I'm sorry if this is already posted elsewhere I didn't see it!

Thanks,
Marisa

Hey Marisa and welcome to the forum :)

Is it that you cannot see the clock or cannot hear it?

If you can't see it then usually the problem is solved by simply clicking on settings and then returning to the game. While it saves your settings it also seems to load the picture of the clock as well.

If you can't hear the clock and you have already turned up the sound on the settings then it may be a problem with your speakers. I get that sometimes, that my sound just "disappears". I find that with a restart the sound will come back.

Hopefully those things will work for you, but if not I don't really have any more suggestions as I'm just speaking about actions I have taken in the past to solve these problems.
Hope it helps :)

You may also have the timer sound turned off. Go into settings, and either in the general tab or the sounds tab there's an option to turn the timer off. Make sure it's checked.

Hello,
I've gone in to the settings to be sure the circle is checked that I want the countdown timer to countdown on my computer! Sorry I wasn't more clear when I posted but I can't hear it, I can see the red but can't hear the ticking.

My volume is up b/c I can hear each time somebody guesses the word correctly and hear everything else it's just the ticking. This has been going on for about a week or so so restarting my computer doesn't help nor does exiting the game and re entering.

Thanks for your help...does anybody else have any other ideas to fix this at all?

Thanks,
Marisa

You could try un-installing Shockwave then installing it again, though you may lose privs and stats.

You could try a different browser. Chrome, Opera or the latest IE.

Have you tried simply clearing your cache to see if that reloads the sound file?
