Hi everyone. Some of you may be familiar with http://jordan.trudgett.com/ already after Valentines day  but for those who aren't,
it's my website, which primarily serves information about my game, Ardentryst.

It's under heavy development at the moment, so you won't really be able to find much out about the game from there at the moment, but you can at

http://www.pygame.org/project/596/ -- the pygame project page of it.

That page also has download links. If you are running MS Windows, you'll probably want to download the Windows installer (https://sourceforge.net/project/platformdownload.php?group_id=215260&sel_platform=9544). If you have Python and the pygame
module installed, go ahead and download the source (https://sourceforge.net/project/platformdownload.php?group_id=215260&sel_platform=9545). The game is open source freeware.

If you have spare time, why not give the game a run? I've spend a year and some months on it, and it'll never be completed to my satisfaction ...
But due to time constraints it is being released at this stage for everyone to test, play and enjoy.

After you've gotten the hang of it, you might like to head over to my website and sign up an account. Once you've done that, you can register your Ardentryst
character so you can get involved in the World Competition. It's not enough to just finish the game-- that alone will only get you around 300 points. Out of
3000. There's a long list of slayer tasks to finish, and a mini-quest. As well as that, you need to collect all the treasure, slay every monster and finish the levels
in record time.

Once you have done all this, and gotten 15000 experience points (which probably won't be hard after all those slayer tasks..) then you will have the
elusive 3000 points.

Are you a platform game lover? Are you good at twitch games but also like RPG?

Play my game... tell me what you think!

There are instructions on how to get your score online on my website.
I kinda need a big base of testers for this release, before I officially declare it released and then distribute it to game sites/companies. I have had magazine
publishers requesting permission to put my games on their included CD (not a real big thing, but hey!) and I hope that if and when I distribute the game, it
won't have any critical errors or bugs in it.

So if you have a spare 20..30..120 minutes, it'd be a great help!
Of course it's just a game and you probably have better things to do, so no worries!

Jordan

P.S. The website will have screenshots, better instructions, download links, etc. later on. You are kinda the earlybird before-the-world-sees-it group
Thanks for your support:!:

P.P.S: Ardentryst = Ardent + tryst ...
ardent: characterized by intense emotion; "ardent love"; "an ardent lover"...
tryst: assignation: a secret rendezvous (especially between lovers)
But mainly it sounds cool :P
The full written storyline never made it into the game unfortunately.
But to sum it up in a few sentences, it's about evil magic vs. good magic-- and when
the world consortium of balance has a rebel who turns on them, chaos is brought.
There's a whole backstory of Princess Nyx, step-daughter of Queen Amee and how she met Pyralis, and how they come from different cultures --
Nyx is half-Kiripian -- and how they fall in love. But their love is forbidden, yatta yatta yatta. I'll leave it up to your imagination :)

Just a quick note: There is a bug on the Windows version which causes it to crash on the last level, and it's incompatible with Python 2.6.

Those and a small minor glitch have been corrected and will be in release 1.61.
Haha, Aless, is it smooth on your computer? What setup are you using and are you playing the source or what? :)
