Hey forumites, a message from me on behalf of my lovely sister MrsNerdinator, who is probably catching up on a couple of nights lost sleep...

I am pleased to announce that Nerdy gave birth to an absolutely gorgeous baby boy earlier tonight, weighing just under 6lbs. Babinator, who looks so soft and loves poking his tongue out, was born without complications and is doing very well!

Nerdy is ok too and thankfully suffered no seizures before/during/after the labour so we are all thankful for that. She's very weak at the moment but has been recovering rather well so far.

On behalf of Nerdy I'd like to thank everyone who supported her throughout this long and tiring pregnancy, I know she's very grateful you were all there for her :)

We were all expecting babinator to arrive around March 19th but after Nerdy's routine check up on Monday and an urgent scan the doctors thought it was best to induce labour yesterday afternoon. Don't worry though, it really was the perfect time for her to go into labour and it was the safest time for both her and the baby :)

Sadly, I haven't been able to hold Babinator yet as only one person other than Mr Nerdy was allowed in after hours. I did however manage to get a peek of him through the window! (Thank God for ground floor delivery wards!) :razz:

Aww thanks everyone (even if I wasn't the one who gave birth! :p) I know nerd'll appreciate it. I went to visit them today and mother and bubbah and doing very well indeed. Nerdy's completely over the moon and so is her hubby. They're already fantastic parents!

I'm absolutely completely in love with the babinator! He's so handsome and so soft! <3 He looks a lot like his dad (who I reckon looks like Noah Wyle) and not so much like nerdy (she reckons he only looks like her when he frowns lol xD)

I've not got permission to post piccies of the babinator online (for fairly obvious reasons :p) but perhaps nerd'll choose to show some. It'll have to be her choice :)

I for one can't wait until they leave hospital, then I can set up camp at nerdy's! :razz:

Had a text from nerdy last night saying how Mr Nerdy attempted to change their first poopy nappy. Only thing is, whilst changing the nappy baby nerd peed across the room!
They changed the baby's nappy during the night too and he did the same again. Ah, the joys of having a new baby boy xD :razz:

On a happier more serious note, babinator's been given the all clear and is allowed to come home, now we're just waiting to hear about nerdy. Hopefully they should be home later today! :D Yaaaaaaay, no more sucky visiting hours and only two visitors rule!! :D

Congratulations to Mother and Auntie! Welcome little one!

No nerdy and baby home today :( They might be kept in a little longer than expected because nerdy's iron levels are really low. Hopefully it can be fixed quickly or at least to a reasonable level.

Awwww :sad: Poor Mumminator!! It's probably for the best - nothing worse than being a new mother and having low iron levels! :eek: Sleepless nights are hard enough... but couple that with anemia and it's no laughing matter. Please send her my best wishes AJ!!

OK, seriously, CONGRATULATIONS to Mr. and Mrs. Nerdinator on the arrival of the babinator without complications. AJ, tell your sister that I've been tuning in to the forum regularly to watch her progress, and I'm delighted that her happy day finally arrived! Give her a big hug from me!

We can only hope that Nerd will not force her foolish beliefs of Mac superiority on this innocent little mind.

Quick update(s). Not been to see nerdy today as I spent all day in another hospital with mum (she had an operation today, yes, a helluva crazy time for us all) Mum's all good, pulled through ok and now has her painkillers at her fingertips (literally, it's PCA so she can press when she wants - we can hear how often she clicks too!!)

Update on mumminator, she's the mother of all mosquitos!! Two units of blood going in her, each taking six hours so that means yet another day in hospital, argh!! I'll squeeze in some time to go visit her as I might be hanging around mum for the better part of the day. Besides, her visiting hours are way better; 9am-9pm (even though we just stayed there until nearly 10pm!) Let's just hope mum continues to recover well :)

P.s last I heard nerd's mac died the morning she went into hospital :twisted:

Sorry, no updates yesterday 'cause I was so tired. Came back from seeing mum last night, popped on here for a moment but was too tired so I went straight to bed.

Anyway, saw nerdy yesterday and she'd just finished her two units of blood. Baby's doing good still and is really funny. He keeps taking his arms out his sleeves and plays with them inside his clothes hehe :)
After a blood transfusion nerdy needs to be tested again. We're just waiting for the results and if the docs say the transfusion helped and nerd's fit enough to come home then they'll be back today! *crosses fingers* Mr Nerdy just came to pick up the car seat so we're hopeful!

Might try and see nerdy today, unless she's coming home. *shrugs* Will try and let you know when I know :p

Aww, glad to hear the Nerdys and Nerdy Junior are all OK. Thanks for the updates AJ, I'm sure Nerdy will appreciate you keeping us up to date. Hopefully they'll all be home soon so you can be a proper Aunty :)

We're doing great, thanks! :) Finally my iron level was looking great.. thank you blood transfusions, lol. I was not expecting any of that >.> Going on iron tablets wasn't enough 'cause it takes weeks for it to go into your blood properly and make a difference. The docs were worried that I'd definitely faint a few times in that time.. :eek: So I went with getting the blood instead. Even if it did mean spending another 2 days in the 'pital. Urgh.

Also, to the ones on my profile page, and also the ones that I have in my PM inbox. I can't reply to any of your right now - I'm really sorry for that. It's just that my mac has died (shurrup AJ :P) and so I'm using hubby's laptop (which is annoyinng 'cause it's a PC and his keyboard is a whole other issue!) and I won't be using it often from now on. That and.. now I'm a mummy :D and this little thing is taking my time up, which I love :) No more boredom where I find that I need to be on the forum 24/7, lol xD

But don't worry, I'll still be dropping by.. I just need time to sort myself out and recover from the delivery. Being induced was not nice. I'm a bit traumatised from the whole experience, to be honest. And it didn't help that I had to spend nearly a week in the maternity department hearing other women cry out in labour... :S

He's got his dads eyes, but he's got my slits and eyelids. Well, at least I think he has. He'll probably change in a weeks time, lol XD

Hubby and I haven't been putting his nappies on tight enough 'cause he's only a tiny baby, with a tiny bottom, so they don't fit him. Maybe I should have bought him premature ones >.> (even though he wasn't classed as premature). He just manages to pee through his nappy somehow.. :eek:
