I've never been drunk, but I have been under the influence (several years ago with a fellow musician when I finally said 'yeah, what the hell'.)
No regurgitating forces were encountered though. I was rather underwhelmed by the effects though - didn't and don't get what the big deal is. At best it was mildly relaxing.

Isn't missing them itself a sign of regret? Technically speaking... it is a feeling of sadness over a loss?
And, depending on the circumstances, the situation, I find regretting is a lot more beneficial than not regretting. With the former, you learn what not to do again because you learn why you shouldn't have done it to begin with. That's my take on it, anyway.
NHIE turned away a friend in need, even if they've turned me away in the past.
missing them is a natural reaction when you have been friends with that person for a long time...doesn't mean you regret cutting them out if it's better for you in the long run.
and I've never turned away a friend either. even if they've not had time for me in the past.

Don't bother, DB. You get less unspired writing from a Dan Brown novel. I've even heard of someone's 13 year old sister speaking poorly about the quality of the content, and she's an avid reader and within it's target audience...
I have slipped down a few steps - I was around 4 years old at the time, but I've never fallen down a full flight of stairs, thankfully.
