Hey,
welcome back and hope Mexico was a great experience.
hey thanks for the welcome.... Mrs. Nerd it was only 2 years, but even like that it passed by pretty fast. o y 2.0, pues si ya aprendi algo de espanol... solo una pregunta... como puedo poner acentos y hacer un 'enye' (n with the squiggle) con mi teclado?
Mexico was awesome, i lived in three different states, Yucatan, Campeche and Quintana Roo, everywhere from large cities (like Merida and Chetumal) to tourist places (Cozumel) to small towns that nobody has ever heard of (Ucum, Champoton, Ixil, Cholul). All in all it was a great experience. got to interact with the people down there, and learn their customs. Also picked up on a bit of Mayan too.
Sleeping in a bed was kind of weird seeing as i slept in a hammock for 2 years, and also i have to say that it is FREEZING back her in the states, seeing as there is snow on the ground today while down there it was almost always in the 90's (mid to upper 30's celsius).
The food is really good... takes a while to get used to though, the whole spicy habanero chili pepper thing. The only one i didnt really like was mondongo... basically cow stomach in a soup....
The people are generally really short down there, so being 6 feet tall (183 cm) i felt like a giant....
apparently i had a pretty bad mexican accent when i got back...
hmmm....
well cant think of many more things to say, but ask away and ill be more than happy to answer your questions.
2.0, pues si ya aprendi algo de espanol... solo una pregunta... como puedo poner acentos y hacer un 'enye' (n with the squiggle) con mi teclado?
Old School:
La ñ y Ñ la sacas con alt+164 y alt+165 respectivamente. Los acentos son: alt+160=á, alt+130=é, alt+161=í, alt+162=ó, alt+163=ú.
New school:
Lo otro que puedes hacer es entrar en Contol panel > regional and language options, and click on the languages tab. Ahi le haces click en el boton de "details" en la sección de "text services and input languages" y eso abre un dialog nuevo llamado text services and input languages. Ahi, seleccionas keyboard y oprimes Add, lo que abre una ventana para elegir el input language. Selecciona english (united states) y abajo you check keyboard layout y seleccionas "english (international)" como tu teclado.
That will allow you to make acentos by just pressing the tilde key (~), the key right above tab, top left corner (without shift) and then the letter of your choice. á é í ó ú.
Igual la ñ. Presionas shift+~ and n, and that should make the ñ.
mondongo... basically cow stomach in a soup....
Here they make it out of pig stomach. Tasty hangover remedy.
