Instantaneously blocking for four hours for writing "hi", clearing and then drawing the word is rather extreme.

Even though personal messages have been taken out of the rules, many regular players still use them without suffering consequences. Either particular admins are rather trigger happy or have personal issues. There is no consistency.
If you are going to be that pedantic then at least skip rather than block.

It is obvious there will be people that go skip happy for writing "hello" or something just because of how they are, but you would have hoped admins were above this. I guess people really do need a power fix.

I would completely agree with you that blocking for 4 hours due to writing the word "hi" is very extreme. When writing personal messages on the screen you have to be very careful as someone could vote that you are cheating.

There are ways to try to avoid this.


Perhaps replace text with emotions like :) or ^^
Draw an arrow towards the chat box to signify that it is for a PM
Or you could just not write at all, the people who you are talking to should realise you are drawing.

Unfortunately despite of these suggestions, no-one on this forum can do anything to help you, as we are not officially affiliated to iSketch. The best thing to do is write to Feedback (info@isketch.net). They will be able to provide you with a reply from the game.

To be totally honest, if you know it's against the rules, then why do it in the first place? Also other people getting away with it is not an excuse to get away with it yourself. If you see someone getting away with it, vote to skip them. For the most part people get away with things because there isn't an Admin around to see it.

I do it in the first place because there is no harm in it and it is not cheating at all. I do in a way that makes it obvious it is a personal message.

The only people that have a problem with it are jobsworths and people that enjoy taking the fun out of everything. It really shouldn't be such an issue but heavy handed behaviour by admins like this and failing to act on other more serious issues is what makes it one.

Ummmmm.... As Jobe already mentioned, admins can't be present all the time, so people getting away with 'more serious issues' would be due to that and nothing more. Admins are only volunteers and they're there to make iSk a better place, they will respond appropriately to any violation of the rules as long as they are online to see it.

To be honest, personal messages, while harmless, waste everybodys time and it is not always easy (no matter how you try to show it) to see the difference between what's a PM and what are letters in the draw. Since, as you already mentioned yourself, PM's are against the rules then regardless of whether it's cheating or not, you shouldn't do it. And if you do, then you shouldn't be surprised that you were punished! If you want to dispute the rules or make an official complaint then write to feedback. No one on this forum can help you.
