If you want to be absolutley amazed, visit www.thepalm.ae (http://www.thepalm.ae)
They are the world's largest man-made islands, in the Emirate of Dubai, in the UAE.
The Palm Jumeirah features over 30 5 star hotels, and Dubai's Jumeirah Beach features the world's only 7-star hotel (the Burj Al Arab, it is officially a 7-star hotel, that's not exadurated!)
Most of the developments in Dubai are from a wonderful company called Nakheel, including The Palm trilogy of Islands: Palm Jumeriah - the smallest, and most complete island, Palm Jebel Ali - the second largest, similar to Jumeirah but with 2 cresents, and Palm Deira, the largest man-made island in the world, construction begun recently.
The island reclaimation is done by Van-Oord, and the Palm Islands are actually more stable than mainland Dubai.
Have a look at the future of luxury!
I plan to stay near the Palm Jumeirah on Jumeirah Beach in January.
