If you want to be absolutley amazed, visit www.thepalm.ae (http://www.thepalm.ae)

They are the world's largest man-made islands, in the Emirate of Dubai, in the UAE.

The Palm Jumeirah features over 30 5 star hotels, and Dubai's Jumeirah Beach features the world's only 7-star hotel (the Burj Al Arab, it is officially a 7-star hotel, that's not exadurated!)

Most of the developments in Dubai are from a wonderful company called Nakheel, including The Palm trilogy of Islands: Palm Jumeriah - the smallest, and most complete island, Palm Jebel Ali - the second largest, similar to Jumeirah but with 2 cresents, and Palm Deira, the largest man-made island in the world, construction begun recently.

The island reclaimation is done by Van-Oord, and the Palm Islands are actually more stable than mainland Dubai.

Have a look at the future of luxury!

I plan to stay near the Palm Jumeirah on Jumeirah Beach in January.

I have to admit, I do think the Palm island looks great. I saw a nice documentary about the way it was made and the problems that could occur, should there be tsunamis, etc (or should I have not said that? Heh).

My cousin owns a house there, next to David Beckham's house. He bought the properly before it was even made. While it was on paper. I'd go check it out, but I'm not fond of my cousin, so um.. yeah.. moving on..

Long time away just yet.. but I hope you enjoy your visit, Kean!

And Tigs, then get Mr Tigs to find a Mr Nerdinator for me, and I'll join you out there.. lol.

I couldn't imagine a tsunami in the Arabian Gulf, has that ever happened before?!

The water is very calm in Dubai.

I hope that by 2008 most of the Palm Jumeirah will be completed so that we can take tours of it!

Tigeress :o Can he get me to a hotel on Jumeirah Beach for free?! Lol
