I want to be able to draw by hand, not mouse. I ordered Bamboo's pad and pen but don't like it/am not good adapting to it.
Are there other methods of drawing on iSketch without havin to be limited by a mouse? Suggestions please?
Thanks

jk.

Give the tablet a chance, bud! Fiddle with some options, it'll be worth it.

but isnt there something where one can see what they r drawing (on the pad)? I have poor motor skills (hand eye) since a brain injury. Was hoping there was something that, when I place the pen it is where it should be on screen.

I just did a Google search for these and it looks like you can get them, they are called LCD tablets (http://www.google.co.uk/#hl=en&q=LCD+tablet). It lets you draw using the tablet pen, like on a normal tablet, but you draw on an LCD screen so that you can see what you've already drawn.

I saw a link to this one (http://www.google.co.uk/products/catalog?hl=en&q=LCD+tablet&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=18210299840089361933&sa=X&ei=mqOHTqaaHoqc0QXAz_31Dw&ved=0CHoQ8wIwAw) on Google Shopping for £35 (about 55 US$) and others are more expensive reaching over £100 (about 155 US$).

Hope this helps :)

If you don't want to buy something else straight away you could change some options like iSnack2.0 suggested.

I would start by checking if you use mouse mode or pen mode, and seeing if you prefer the alternative one (or check that you understood how the pen should have been working; some people get confused by their tablet being in pen mode by default and wonder why their cursor is jumping all over the place).

You can get tablets that have a screen like db1986 said, but of course they're more expensive than ones that don't.

The "Boogie Board" tablet that db1986 has linked is basically a device to draw/write notes on without using paper. It doesn't connect to a computer and isn't the kind of tablet you're looking for.

thanks.
1) pen/mouse setting is correct.
2) I don't care about cost, just want one I can view on tablet as I am drawing online (iSketch etc)

If anyone knows of a specific name(s) I can check out, please let me know. Been trying and trying with Bamboo pen/tablet and it's just not happening for me. Bad motor skills since an accident affecting brain.

I love iSketch.

If you really don't care about cost... get one of Wacom's Cintiq tablets! :)

thanks. if i were into more than drawing on iSketch, it'd be well worth the cost; if I were an 'artist' I'd buy it.
But, I meant something under 200.00. if you can just tell me the phrasing I am looking for (to search) it'd be enough for me to look on m own. what words did u search?
when i search i end up getting tablets that...while they allow me to see what I am drawing on the tablet, they don't work online. .. and i want both.

perhaps you could get one of those more expensive tablets second hand? on ebay or something? I'm not sure the kind of thing you are after for that price exists brand new:/

You can try searching LCD tablet like db1986, or things like graphics tablet display.

I've never really spent much time looking for them, but have never seen one that wasn't very high end and probably too expensive (new) for a casual user.

In fact, before today I wasn't aware of any other than the Cintiqs; but there is also SenTIP (http://www.hanvon.com/en/products/tablets/products/SenTIP.html) as an option. From looking at wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graphics_tablet-screen_hybrid), this is possibly because Wacom have a bunch of patents for tablet technology. There's also a couple of products which (as far as I can tell) are discontinued: CyberTable M17, and P-active XPC 1700B.

Strangely, it might be easier to find an older tablet pc which comes with a pen/stylus at that price; rather than just the tablet.

Let us know if you do find a less expensive option :)
