i only just recently realised, that if i'm out of a room (in the void), no one recieves my PMs. but its funny, because if someone PMs me first and i reply them, then a conversation can continue from there. but not if i initiate it.

at first i thought i was being ignored haha! (glad to find thats not the case  ).

if something of the sort has already been posted, then sorry for starting a whole new thread and just direct me there.

i'm hoping theres a solution for it. please help!

p.s. i've already fiddled with the settings but nothing worked from there!

Never heard of that problem sabiha. I've always been able to PM from the lobby no problem. Perhaps one of our resident experts can shed some light?

I've experienced something like this. I'm not sure if it was because of the shockwave, but I'm almost certain that it was, because it happened straight after I deleted shockwave by mistake (whooops) and reinstalled it. It didn't install all the necessary things, it seems. So when I went into isketch, I couldn't send PMs from the lobby (as well as other little things that happened in the room). I tried about 3 other different browsers to make sure it wasn't a browser issues. Once I swept my computer and reinstalled the whole Operating System again, it worked fine. There's no guarantee that it was definitely because of shockwave though.

What browser are you currently using, hun? Have you tried using a different brower and does the same thing happen?

Edit: Did I have this conversation with you on iSketch? I'm having a feeling of deja vu. And I think I might have said the same thing about the browser, so ignore me if I'm repeating myself. :embarrassed:

Sabiha what exact method/command are you using to send the PMs ?

oooh i've figured it! thanx BB, its the method i'v been using to PM that isnt working.
thanx TLB, i guess i wasnt using the right command all this time pffffff! :P

oh and while i'm at it, theres something else thats been bothering me.
you know when the games ended and the fireworks start, my screen goes reaaally slow until the next game begins. it never used to happen like that before. reckon its something to do with the vista (which i'm always cursing whenever something isnt right :P) or would there be a common solution to it?

thanks!

Too little RAM me thinks. Then again, it's been about 4 years since i last saw a celebration, turned off the damn thing, it's too distracting.

I'm pretty sure it's a RAM/processer problem too. I've not got as much RAM on my computer as I hope to have had (need to get on that!) and sometimes if I'm doing more than one thing at once, it does slow me down during the celebrations. I remember typing up a sentence would take aaaages to come up. And my claps would be delayed, lol.

Over the last month I've taken the celebrations off - under settings, and it doesn't slow me down anymore. If it does annoy you as much as it annoyed me, I'd say try taking turning the celebrations off :)

I would also suggest turning off the end game celebration in your settings. I noticed when I upgraded my OS, it did make a difference and I was held captive during the end game fireworks. Vista is probably using enough more power and that might be causing the problem. Good luck!

Vista is probably using enough more power and that might be causing the problem.Either that, or the current version of Shockwave 3D does not use hardware acceleration when running in Vista. Following troubleshooting steps in this technote may be a good idea as a last resort:

lol. I've been adding a lot of programs/softwares to the computer over the year (for work, and a few of them required a lot of space). That's when I started noticing the problems. I later upgraded my OS from 10.3 to 10.4 (tiger) and it lagged some more during the celebrations. So I was pretty sure it was a RAM problem. Of course, I could be completely wrong, but with 768 MB and the amount of random things I have on here, I believe it made me lag.

I remember in my early days of isketch I saw an admin tell a player that the game celebrations use a lot of RAM/power. So I kinda put two and two together. I miss the celebrations though because sometimes I find myself still guessing after the last drawing has finished.. :embarrassed: (only when my computer is on mute though). But I'm glad turning the celebrations off has got rid of the lag. Hope you got your problem sorted out, hun.
