View Full Version : Profile Customisation Enabled

This was a feature that came with vBulletin but it wasn't enabled by default. Basically it allows you, to an extent, to style your profile.
Now obviously your profiles aren't gonna look as awesome as mine (http://www.isketchforum.net/member.php?u=3) but I'm enabling this hoping that you all don't go myspace wild with animated GIFs etc.
I look forward to seeing what you all come up with though cos I know we got some graphicly talented individuals here. Maybe I'll hold a competitions some time :D
Enjoy.

For those who aren't up on their HTML, you can choose any colour from this chart by entering a # and the colour code given.
http://www.pagetutor.com/pagetutor/makapage/pics/net216-2.gif
For example, white is #FFFFFF and black is #000000.

I can't delete pictures from my album. It says invalid link, and if I did follow a valid link to contact the administrator.
I basically went, album > albumname > selected a picture > edit picture > selected it again by checking the box > delete picture > save changes.
It doesn't accept that. :?:

Or if you have no problem changing from base-16, base-2 and base-10 number systems and your good at mixing colours you can work it out yourself! The colour code is also know as a hex triplet because it's is made up of three values, red, green and blue with this notation:
#RRGGBB
Have fun!
Edit: I'm not sure what's wrong storm I'll have a look on your profile see if I have the same problem...
I just tried out the delete picture doodad. It looks like the 'invalid link' page shows up because the image has been deleted! Try refreshing your view of your album, and the picture should be no more.

Alternatively, they could just click on the dotted rectangle that gives them the menu of colours to choose from...

Ahhh, well spotted! There seems to be some problem with caching on these user profiles...
You might need to re-upload some of your pictures Storm, lol.

When I click delete it says invalid link, but it deletes the selected picture anyway. I haven't had any problems with pictures not uploading yet.

Can't find a way to have a background image ... says to use a picture from my album, which I've uploaded one to try, but there's nowhere to select it as a background ... too many options and ♥♥♥♥ to click on - so many options it could be anywhere
That's my problem - I don't know which bit does what!

When you're creating an album, there are 3 different types of album you can make: public, private and profile.
http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w295/nohints/profile.jpg
The picture needs to be in an album that you have selected "profile" or "public" as the type for.
Once you have the picture uploaded, go to the Customize Profile section and click on the image icon for the section you want a background image for to get a list of pictures you can use:
http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w295/nohints/profile2.jpg
You can also just type in the url for the image, which you can get by going into the album itself and viewing the image.

Actually I only came into this thread to ask if there was a setting to notify when a new message was posted on your profile - like the pop-up you can set when you get a new PM?

That's because the iSketch style hasn't yet been updated to be correct for vBulletin 3.7.* and is still only meant for vBulletin 3.6.*
The only way I've seen to have "New Notifications" is with the Hallowe'en theme. According to Jobe, the Hallowe'en theme uses vBulletin 3.7, which incorporates the "New Notifications", whereas the normal theme, which uses vBulletin 3.6, (I assume this is the current version) doesn't support it.

Just a minor correction, iSketchForum currently runs vBulletin 3.7, where the halloween theme was designed and created for 3.7, the iSketchForum theme is yet to be updated to work properly with 3.7 if thats makes it a lil clearer.

So I guess the "normal" theme was made for version 3.6, and therefore doesn't display these notifications.
