With the recent Shockwave update to version 11.5, I, and a few others, have been having a few problems with displaying an avatar on iSk.

I have an animated GIF file that I wish to display (similar to the one on here, just a little smaller) but I cannot see it displayed on iSketch at all.

I have updated to the newest version of Shockwave and I have profile pics turned on. I've tried several different hosts such as photobucket, imageshack, xs.to and tinypic and the picture uploads correctly and displays correctly. It even displays correctly on the settings screen on iSketch, but it is not animated.

The picture is of an adequate size (it is 64x64 pixels and is 7.3 KB in size) although I have also tried larger images and still images and neither of these work using any of the above hosts.

I have also used IE and FF to play iSk to see if it is my browser and neither work.

Is there anything anyone can suggest that may be able to assist me?

Umm I don't have any advice on how to actually fix it.. buttttt afaik for some users they're just not displaying at all since the update and it's not to do with your link :S
My avatar (as well as most other users pics) doesn't display for me, but other players have told me they have been able to view my avatar fine :\
A couple of random players pics seem to work for me, others apear just white - but majority don't show at all..

I picked a few random .gifs from google to try, and all the ones I tested worked perfectly for me - even a 347 × 326, 15.32 kB one worked fine with the animation (it automatically resized, of course). Same thing on Internet Explorer and Firefox.

Saving them to photobucket also worked fine. It didn't work for the bigger one, but a smaller version which was still more than double the limit worked.

There was a very short while a couple of days ago where I couldn't see avatars, but that didn't last long at all. It might just be a temporary thing for everyone.

I don't really have suggestions other than the obvious things (making sure shockwave updated properly; having most recent version of browser; disabling any add-ons you have to see if there's one which interferes; asking feedback etc).

Are you able to see other peoples avatars?
Is it just animated ones you have trouble with?
Are you able to get ones to work which aren't hosted at those sites? example (http://www.task10.com/icon/heihei.gif)
I'm guessing you've made this avatar yourself. If so, might it be related some formatting/properties type things? (only really relevant if other .gifs work)

Yeah, I have been asking around a few people on iSk and a few say that they have the same problem as me.

I am able to see a few peoples' avatars, but only limited to a very few. Also one of those was animated itself.

Is it just animated ones you have trouble with?

I have tried a couple of still images as well as a few animated images and I still get either a plain white box displayed or nothing at all.

I haven't tried, but I'll give it a go.

Yes, I have made this avatar myself and at one point I did think that maybe the free animated gif software I have could be the problem. The thing is, I see the still version of the animated image displayed on the settings screen, but it doesn't "translate" into my profile picture.

It's nothing majorly important, it's just a bit annoying. I can still play iSk, and if that means without a picture, then oh well. I shall try using a picture that is already on the web and see what happens.
Thanks for your replies guys, I do appreciate it :)

Its to do with shockwave's security filter. Remember the question that comes up "do you want to give this movie access etc." (something like that). I can't see any avatars until someone enters a room with a different host domain for their avatar which will then in turn ask me if i want to allow access. And sometimes after the prompt my user icon will magically display itself.
