View Full Version : Quit it!
Your wish is my command, Facey!
As suggested in the smoking ban thread, here is a thread for all our lovely ex-smokers to post in! We're here to help, we want to you do it, so go ahead and tell us what you're going through, how long it's been, how much you're craaaaaaaaving, and any other related stresses, joys, and umm.. stuff! Keep a ex-smokers diary to share with us all, if you want.
We'll do our best to help.
Go for it!

Good luck to everyone giving up smoking, it's hard I know. I have no intentions of giving up as of yet, I'm defiant. I shall give it up when I'm ready to, not because the Government make it harder for me to light one up!

I'm glad I've never had a smoke. I can imagine it's more than difficult to give up something you enjoy! My dad used to smoke when we were very small, but he gave it up for my mother, his children, and for religious reasons. He surprisingly didn't struggle once things were put into perspective for him.
Good luck to all those who are giving it up or cutting down, :)

me and my other half actually gave up on the friday before the ban so it was our own choice and not the government making us(thats what we keep telling ourselves anyway)
day 8 and today if the first day i've been at home all day and its becoming hard, spending most of my time in the bedroom watching tele as smoking has never been allowed in our bedroom therefore a do not associate it with smoking which is making it a little easier.

Kicking a habit is always tough. Good luck everyone who's quitting.
Though the majority of the people I know smokes, all I have ever tried was a cigar... And that was because I was lighting fireworks with it and at one point it was threatening to go off. Didn't want to light it again. It was actually quite nice (no, Nay, no!).
Try to take your mind off it by doing things. I bet the quiet moments make it harder. Especially if you're waiting. So occupy yourself (but don't make it stressful, 'cos... you know, that's no good either).
