Women aren't confusing, men are just oblivious because of the beauty that women posses :P :P

Not the whole forum. Foreign language threads were left as they were. But that's about all that was left.

What I think it is, if you change your setting to the tr setting , you see the flag even when you're on the main forum page, not just on the Turkish forum, so Facey I think your settings are ok.

edit: if you set your settings to forum default, you will only see the flag when on the Turkish forum.

now that is confusing, as I see it on default settings, but only in the Turkish forum.

It's starting to look like it could be a bug for some users, there's been a few as of late, like sigs not appearing in some posts, the "go to advanced" button in turkish in the quick reply box and now this. But if this is not causing any major issues, let's let peter work on them for a while.

Facey

Vik

The answer is that an American lady sued MacDonalds because (unbelievably!) her coffee was hot. If it hadn't been for the quick thinking of staff who performed an immediate runitunderthetapioptic procedure, the slight reddening of the skin could have lasted days.

Because their innate escape behaviour is to fly up, not down. Most insects behave this way, so it's really easy to catch them if you build a proper trap bsed on this behaviour.

Okay... I was gonna start a thread on this.. but just thought I'd stick it here instead. I was watching TV with my daughter and 'The Basil Brush show' (BBC Television 2007) was on. I love Basil, have done since I was a little kid. I blame Basil for my tendency to hang around with animals who make bad jokes a lot (and they say psychology's a nonsense lol).

However, on watching the show... I've been perturbed by something I hadn't realised 'til now. Basil's a fox, right? Then why does he have buck teeth?

Basil brush is a red squirrel, well at least i hope he is, as i love squirrels so much.

I'd suggest he is neither a fox nor a squirrel. I would proffer that he is in fact merely fun fur filled with polyester stuffing or, to use the Latin, a common or garden Handus Puppetius. I've a suspicion that Fingermouse wasn't a real mouse either, but can't be sure.

Question is though.. was I on the list? lol, just joking.
I've had a few isketch dreams. Well, just the one. But my other iSketchy dreams sort of involve a couple of my bestest friends that I met via sketchy (said with a childish tone). What's really funny is when I wake up in the morning sometimes and hear the isketch noises in my head.. like the flirt whistles, lol. RC: wasps ... no reason needed is there?

Wasps are predators of flies and caterpillars. One wasp may make several predatory expeditions an hour. One nest could contain a couple of thousand adult hunters. That's a lot fewer caterpillars and flies in a garden, even after one day!
Wasps can convert your garden fence into a three-dimensional paper architecture that can support at least 10 times its own weight. That seems to me worth a round of applause!
One wasp can provoke limb-flailing frenzy in a creature 100,000 times its own size, a defensive, yes defensive, advantage that should impress any military strategist!
Wasp grubs are the favoured diet of that strange bird of prey, the honey buzzard (Pernis apivorus) yes PERNIS - long may it survive!!
Even if you are decidedly against wasps, at least learn to respect the enemy

Always be honest, no matter how difficult it is. It's all about using the right choice of words. I admit to being rubbish with words, it's a skill I just don't have and I'm not 'diplomatic' apparently.

An alternative is if you think it'll really hurt the person, bring it up at a later date when you know they've cooled down and when they are thinking clearly.
If it is something really important, then as a friend, I would tell that person, but when the time is right. Hope that helps.

Ooh Deadpan I was thinking the same! :o

I pretty much lost touch with my friend who's now in her 2nd year of college, and to start with I kept getting in touch with her, but she rarely replied and I gradually began to accept that we'd grown apart.

She's just emailed me totally out of the blue, saying it's been so long since we've talked, and how am I doing and all that. I don't know how to feel about it. I was just starting to move on and I don't want to get close to her again and then grow apart. I mean.. she'll be going to uni in a year. It's pretty unlikely she'll stay in touch from there.
Tasha, just cos someone emails you randomly out the blue doesn't mean that you *have* to go back to being really close friends. It can happen but perhaps you can just be "casual friends" if you like.

This might sound pretty weird but I have 3 best friends and I haven't seen any of them in over a year! Just cos we don't talk all the time or see each other often, it doesn't change how we feel about each other.

One of my friends recently contacted me cos her mum was really ill and at the time we hadn't spoken for a good few months, she needed someone to turn to so she went to someone who was close to her. Because we're so close, it doesn't feel like she was using me, it meant that we could always trust each other and our friendship doesn't have to be something that is worked on everyday.

One of my other best friends is going with me to my exam soon, I haven't seen her since I left college and I told her it'd be really silly meeting up so she could be there for me on my exam day, I said we should meet up for something fun, however, she too understands that I need someone with me (as I will be going far away) and accepts that we're very close and we'll do anything for each other no matter how little we see or speak to each other.

I dunno if I'm explaining this properly but you don't have to talk/see each other all the time in order to be close. I can say that me and my friends have grown apart but that doesn't mean I don't stop thinking about them.
I know I've been busy and so have my friends. We all went to different unis and we're all studying completely different things and we understand and know how busy the other person must be, so we don't get upset or annoyed if we feel forgotten. Well, we don't feel forgotten, cos when we do finally catch up, we're likely to be on the phone for 3 hours straight.

So just because you've not spoken to someone for ages, it doesn't mean that they've forgotten about you or that they don't like you. Sometimes people just get so busy they can't always contact everyone. Try to give this friend the benefit of the doubt, ask her where this friendship is leading if it makes you feel better, I'm sure she will understand. Alternatively, you could just try to keep it casual so that you don't end up feeling hurt over the next time you feel like you're growing apart. The latter is probably what I would do first, but that's just to save getting my hopes up and feeling hurt later on.

RCon: Why do my eyes go red when I wear my glasses but they're fine when I wear my contacts? Surely it should be the opposite way round, right? O.o

Woah that's certainly a pickle tasha. Hm... well I'm certainly unsure on what to do. But perhaps this nice little bump in the topic would boost the chances of someone who can answer your problem to answer? Ironic, I was actually going to post an RCon about you. ;)

Hah, thanks :P

RCon: tasha's avatar makes me think of gracie, with the whole music thing. Heh don't get me wrong, I really like the new avatar tasha! I'm just easily confused :/
Lol! Thanks. I know what you mean though. Sorry gracie.. hope you don't mind!

AJ I know what you're getting at, and that does make sense. I think we are growing apart though. It's not anyone's fault, I don't think, but she's at college, I'm at school, she's busy, we've both got our own friends, and she'll be most likely going to uni next year. It's hard to find time, and she's not very good at replying to messages. =/

We'll see what happens, I guess.

But thanks :)

Rcon: How is it people can just view your blog page and suddenly wanna be friends with you? I honestly don't get it. I saw this just now
I looked at your page and well, I liked what I saw.. ;p So, my name is Xxxxxx. I think you and I should be friends. You should find me at.... etcI mean if my blog page was cool and updated, yeah sure, maybe some freak out there may wanna know me, but if you saw what my blog page was like you'd understand my confusion. It's not a proper blog tbh. It's more filled with stuff I want to keep and stuff I've learnt. The last time I updated it was this time last year I think.

So yeah, now I have an invitation that I either have to accept or deny. I'd actually like to ask her what it is that made her interested in my blog. Furthermore, what made her read it? O.o

/me accepts the invitation for now
If she's a weird serial killer/stalker/freak, I can just block her later. Not that I care cos I don't use this email account anymore but I randomly check it to see if I have any interesting emails.

a) the bloke was a figment of my imagination
b) I misheard what he said
c) I imagined how he looked
d) I'm just too ill and losing my mind

Does anyone know if Orlando happens to be in London right now?

RCon: The youth of today. Yes I'm a youth, I think (19 is still a youth, right?) but the kinda younger lot in secondary school are such wedgies. No, not all of them and no offense to the good kids out there. But it's the boys I'm thinking about right now cos I was out getting dinner tonight and as I waiting I couldn't help but overhear a 14-ish year old boy on the phone, this is how his conversation went....

"What, you mean he egged your house? Yeah man, yeah.... and can you tell me how I can reach him?.... Does anyone know where to find him?.... And who knows him?... How easy do you think it'll be to get to him? yeah man... yeah... I think you know I'm gonna do to him, I'm gonna shank him, give him some shanking, yeah it's all sorted. He needs to be taught a lesson, yeah, yeah... " etc!

Ok, firstly as soon as I heard him say "he egged your house", the friendly neighbour kinda person in me wanted to go "Well, there's always a number you can call the council on with regards to vandalism and egging your house, it's on the back of this week's free yellow advertiser which comes through your door" but then I thought I'd sound like an old biddy

Then I was thinking about what he was saying about shanking someone, dude, he may have been 14 ish but he looked like a kid and the only scary thing about him was his fugly hair do which by the way looked like someone's heart rate on that heart monitor machine and towards the back of his head it looked like the person had flat lined (or was that just his brain activity? O_o) Oh and don't get me started on the ginormous diamond earring in his ear, it made me laugh then and just the thought of it is giving me the giggles now.
So anyway, he was just all talk and no action, erm.. not that I'm saying I want him to shank someone, but you could tell he was just full of it. Why bother?

Oh yeah and when I saw his hands the first thing that came to mind was "wow they looked so soft (and girlie)" lol :embarrassed:
Then he started eating, why do people chew with their mouths open? Eww. Annoying. Gross. Noisy.

My point is the youth of today are just nuts! Some kid looking like that wasn't gonna shank someone, he looked like he'd never even held a knife before!

Why are kids turning into people like that? Who is doing it and why is the word shank used almost everywhere I go? Also, do kids nowadays have full length mirrors or do they just prefer to get dressed in the dark? Reminds me of that girl who started a random argument with me in town lol. Catastrophe... her wardrobe that is.

RCon: Why does it take people so long to make a decision; do you want something? Yes or no. It's really quite simple. If you want it, why don't you say so? If you don't want it, again, why don't you say so?

In short: people who keep you hanging; why?

Geez, I seem to be confused quite a lot lately =/
This isn't really a RCon but there's nowhere else to stick it. I did consider the photo thread only this picture is crap and it's not exactly a good thing! (Although I do like the way the sun is just shining past the huge cloud of smoke :s) I guess, RCon: Why is it when we get a nice day something goes up in flames and hides the sun?

So yeah, my dad came home and went "It's not a cloud the sun's hiding behind!" Turns out we have a nice clear blue sky today and the sun is shining and it's quite warm in London today but when I stuck my head out my study room window and looked right, I saw this (http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z61/ajuk7/12112007506.jpg?t=1194871922). (pictures taken from my attic cos you could see the whole thing) and a close up (http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z61/ajuk7/12112007503.jpg?t=1194872664).
Not a good thing cos of the pollution and lives could be in danger (I assume this is in Leyton, Stratford or Hackney but my sense of direction is crap so I could be wrong) But it was a little bit cool to look at. And yes, the sky really is nice and blue today, the pictures are just crap cos I took them on my dad's phone and there was the glare from the sun

Edit: oh perhaps this is an "in the news" thing cos it's the olympic site near Stratford. Tis all over the news =/

I'm gonna take advantage of the RC being locked and post my complaint in here, I've been avoiding RC for ages *grin* and now that I need to complain, this is the best place I can think of *bigger grin*...

RC: Bed bugs!! I had what was apparently bed bugs in my old bed, and I just got my new bed last week, so it's not that long ago I was "coching" with some fugly stupid beasties. We saw one in the living room today that must have crawled from the room nextdoors where my old bed has been placed temporarily until my dad can get rid of it. When my dad saw the fugly thing he confirmed it was a bed bug and I haven't stopped itching since  and nerdy keeps laughing at me  and she said they must have gone in my mouth and up my nose and in my ears when I was sleeping

I've googled bedbugs and seen what their bites look like and I don't believe I have any of those types on my body. So I guess I can count myself lucky. Although I don't have bites on me the itching is just a psychological thing now what I *know* they were bed bugs - so annoying

Lol, if BB's right we could both be diabetic?

I can safely say I'm not diabetic. My BMI is what it should be and I'm not at high risk cos I'm not middle aged  and no immediate relative is diabetic, although my mum is borderline so it just means she has to watch what she eats but isn't on any medication :)

RCon: Them people on msn who save emotes under words they use all the time. Examples are phone, brb, sorry, hey, bed, sleep, food, eat and so on. The ones that really bug me are like "hey" and "hi" so when they say "they" you see a normal t then theres the space of about 2 lines worth of writing taken up by a big fat flashing "HEY" in three different colours!
Same goes for "hi" or when I was chatting to someone just now, she went "brb sorry, phone" and all I saw was a flashy BRB emote with a person running, then someone looking really sad and like they were gonna cry saying sorry, then there was a blue and pink phone with hearts coming out of it.

It reminds me of them story book things where you have to read the sentence and some words are replaced with pictures...
