All of this information is available here (http://www.isketch.net/instructions/index.shtml) on iSketch.net. I suppose people just don't read it. Here is a version for you which answers the most Frequently Asked Questions. A FAQ.
Q:
I see people saying things like
/me runs round in circles
in the chat, how do I do that?
A:
In order to say that I would type:
/me runs around in circles
'/me' simply places '* ' before your name
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
Q:
How do I send a message to someone in a different room?
A:
Easy. Say you wanted to message me you would type
/msg Petay This is my message.
If you did it right the chatbox will go a shade of blue and your private message will be shown in a blue font like this:
-> *Petay* This is my message.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
Q:
I keep seeing people reminding a cheating artist 'not to violate drawing rules'. How do I do that?
A:
You need to play at least ten games before this feature is enabled for you. When it is in order to warn an artist you have to click this button http://img135.imageshack.us/img135/9845/warn3us.gif above the canvas.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
Q:
Someone is annoying me but not breaking any rules, how can I block their chat from my view?
A:
If you wanted to filter me, you devil, you'd type:
/ignore Petay
Or you can click and hold on their name, hover your mouse over 'ignore' and let go.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
Q:
I have another question that isn't answered here, what do I do?
A:
Post a reply and I'll do my best to answer it. Or just read the iSketch instructions page (http://www.isketch.net/instructions/index.shtml)

How can i become a mod?
Yukiona,
I'm unsure whether you mean on this forum or on iSketch.
If it's iSketch it would be an Admin and you can apply by sending an application form request to info@isketch.net
If it's on here, it's the bloke in the post above yours is who you need to contact. That's Peter, the site admin, and who mods on this site is his decision.

If you did it right the chatbox will go a shade of blue and your private message will be shown in a blue font like this:
Small point: /q or /query will make the chat box blue, /m or /msg won't because they just send one-off messages instead of entering private chat.

I can't seem to figure out how to deselect a catagory when creating a room :embarrassed: Can you please tell me how?

Do you mean wordlist when you say "category"?
If you want a Chat Only room, then go to Advanced Options and set Number of Artists to 0.

Yeah, i mean the wordlist. Like 60's 70's etc. If i misclick one i have to log all the way out to reset them all.

Once you've made a room you can type "/modify" and press enter to get back to the options for making rooms, without having to make a new room.

Thanks, that's usefull, but that's not what I need.
While making the room, I click on a wordlist. Then decide I don't want it, before I start the game. It is bolded. I want to turn it off. Clicking it again doesn't seem to do anything. is there a way to turn it off?

hm, if u mean turn it off as in don't have any wordlist at all and no game, then stormy's right about changing number of artists to 0
if u want to change it to a room where people just draw, no game/guessing, then there's a "wordlist" option of "Lounge" I believe...If u just click on that one, then the other one shouldnt be selected anymore
if u want to change to another wordlist, then you should be able to just click a different option, the other one won't be uh....bolded anymore?

Once you have selected a wordlist, you cannot click it again to turn that particular wordlist off. All you have to do is simply click on another wordlist and the original selected wordlist will change for you.
If you don't choose any wordlists from the list, iSketch chooses its default wordlist, which is US Basic.
Like jenni939706 said, there is an option of "Lounge" if you want to just draw without guessing and also there is an option called "Chat" if you wish to just chat with no drawing whatsoever.
As NoHints said, you may change all the parameters of a room if you type "/modify". A similar screen appears with all the original options when you created the room. In this instance, the only thing you cannot change is the room name.

So does that mean the last selected wordlist is the one used? Because when I select a wordlist, it becomes bolded (I assumed that meant it was selected), then when I click another word it bolds that one as well. So I have two bolded words. Are they both selected?

So I have two bolded words.
When one gets bolded, the other becomes normal, as in deselected. The last list to be bolded is the list that is going to come.

iSketch won't mix two wordlists (although that's sounds like an interesting idea).
Sounds to me as if you have a bug if both lists are bolded. You should try and see which of the two bolded lists are actually used for the game. It should be only one, and it might still be the most recently selected one.

I don't have a warn button, even though I've played much more than 10 games.
EDIT: Reading up on other topics. Gonna just let it go for a few days and see if the problem persists.

Hey p01s0nxx and welcome to the forum :)
Usually it takes around 10-15 games to become a regular on iSketch. Once you have played the appropriate number of games you will get a bold red message in the Chat box saying something like...
Congratulations! You have become an iSketch regular. You now have the ability to vote against other players...
Once you get this message you should be able to vote.
If the yellow voting triangle has not appeared above the drawing box in the room you are playing in, you could try clicking "Settings" and returning to the room. This seems to reload some elements of the game such as the voting triangle and the clock.
If this yellow triangle still doesn't appear try leaving the room altogether and join another one. Otherwise you could also try changing your browser. Some browsers that people recommend are IE6 or later, Firefox, Chrome or Opera. The latest browser versions are usually a plus.
I'm no computer expert, but hopefully this may help :)
According to /stats, I've played 79 games, yet I am still marked as a newbie. Does it still take 10-15 games to lose newbie status or did something change?
Ouch!
05-01-2011, 03:17 AM
That seems rather unlucky.
Did you re-install Shockwave or something?
About 10 games is the norm as far as I know.
How many games did you win out of the 79? ;p
(My stats are hideously embarrassing, I think I need to re-set)

I know that recently there was a glitch and many newbies (or those who reset their stats) didn't get their voting rights after the standard amount of games, however I am certain this has been fixed now. Personally it took me over 500 games before I got mine.. But maybe that's just a sign I play too much, hehe :)
I never re-installed shockwave or anything. I play on 2 different computers and both have about 80 games played, yet I am still a newbie on both of them. All of these games have been played in the last week, too, so I don't think it would have been affected by the glitch MissyRed mentioned.

It says you need to play at least 10 games to get privledges but here are my stats since returning to iSketch on this new computer...
"You're first visit was 13 days ago. You have spend 51 hours on iSketch and played 151 games, out of which you have won 53."
...and yet still, I cannot vote or anything... can somebody tell me why or help me fix this issue?
It's just that it's never taken this long to receive privledges before :(
*EDIT:* Sorry, I just read the above comments and they're similar to mine so I must apologize for that but I'd still hope there's a moderator or something who can adjust this for me :)
Ouch!

You have won 53 out of 151 games KariKari? Maybe there lies the problem?
You are too good for iSketch to cope?
And as if you have played over 500 games MissyRed?
The voting system has been changed and if you will keep playing you will get back your privs.
The regulars know the admins so call us in (/invite) if you are online and still not able to vote. Hang in there!

I got my privs shortly after that last post :) And yes, I am an iSketch CHAMPION :P mwahaha lol
EDIT: Now I do have one final question... Does my "games played" account for everytime I pop into a room and just exit? or the rounds I come into on 10 and wait for the win to start playing on the next round 1? It seems they do, unfortunately.

I don't know if they count but looking at my own stats I would not count too much on the accuracy of these values :D

That's about 244 hours a day... while the hours and games may be in the right area the 62 days are definitely wrong :D

Or maybe Calu, you're just that good.
I'm pretty sure the games won and played are an accurate count.
To answer your question Kari, I'm also pretty sure every time you're there for the finish of a game it affects your stats, meaning you could leave right before the end of round 10 everytime you're about to lose to maintain your flawless stats. (Of course I don't need to do this because I have flawless stats anyway. :P)
Also any games played in User Created rooms don't count toward your statistics.

I think (may be wrong) that every time a game finishes and you are in the room it adds one to your game count, although if you pop into a room for a bit and then leave i dont think that counts, given no game has ended. The hours is also way off, as it seems to not count in minutes, so say i log on for 1 hour and 1 minute, log off, then log back on tomorrow for 1 hour and 2 minutes it would say i have played for 4 hours. again, i could be wrong, but this is what i have noticed.

Wow Calu, those are definitely some big numbers on your stats there ;)

Correcto, In order for the game to count and be added towards your /stats, you need to be in the room at the end of round 10 :)
If you join a new public room just as round 10 finishes, you'll get the extra game, but not the win of course ;)
And yes, the hours played and first day visited is pretty inaccurate ;)

Can you please help? I've played at least 30 games (after playing a ton of games a few years ago and being a regular then) and for whatever reason I'm still marked as a "newbie." Any way to fix this?
Just keep playing, you will lose the dot eventually :)

Why is there a character limit to my login name but not others? (I can't add the "e" to tatertotpixie, but i've seen people with more characters than mine?)
there is a limit of 12 characters, so I don't think you would have seen anyone with a longer name :S

second question: how do you find out an admins name so you can invite them when things are going awry? I'm not technically a newbie but apparently the regulars know the admins, I never knew any even as a non-newbie on my old comp (my comps in the shop, on the bfs comp I'm a newbie again)

Strangely, I found a list of Admins on youtube recently.
Tis amazing what you can find on the interweb thingy!

I've found that some admins are happy to tell you that they are an admin, if you ask nicely :)
