Ok, I lost reputation points... But I read the rules and FAQ, but I can't find anywhere that explaines what these reputation points are:!: What are they and what do they do:?: Thanks, Josh:razz:

Reputation points relate to your reputation level.

By default, all members start with 10 points. If you receive an infraction on the forum, you either get a yellow card or a red card. Yellow card means a warning, a red card means infraction. Each infraction costs the member points depending on the type of the offense. Members may lose a number of points, depending on the severity of the situation. Once the member is out of reputation points, it only takes one offense to get banned temporarily or permanently.

This measure is set up so that chronic trolls (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troll_%28Internet%29)don't stick around too long.

What do we have to do to loose them? Go into the forum FAQ, http://www.isketchforum.net/faq.php , see the forum rules and start breaking them mildly.

Where can we see how many we have?

You may find information about them here: http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/user_infractions_intro

Only Administrators and moderators can see them, but you pretty much know what yours is if you've never received an actual infraction, i.e. a PM that says you've received an infraction at isketchforum.net

Mind you, warnings do not cost people points.

do they get used?!
Yes they do, but infractions are so rare and we don't really like handing them out, and opportunities to hand them out are so rare too, most often offenses are so severe that the member gets banned on the spot.

I hope that's at least a little bit helpful.

Now I understand why, after, on a couple of occasions when I was warned without justification, and an admin was in the room, I got a PM stating that the warning had been removed.

Sorry Pootsie, this applies to forum only. Dunno about isketch, i suppose they can withdraw warnings if an admin by mistake warns an innocent bystander.

um. on the other vBulletin forum i barely visit, they actually have this visible reputation system. you can give reputation points to people if they make a nice post or something. you get these little bars of 'reputation' ...

that had nothing to do with anything.

but yeah.
