Right the lovers season is here again, although some of us lucky ones have it all year round awww.
I was wondering what people will be doing on the 14th, considering its a weekend to.
I will be staying snugled at home as the kids are all doing stuff, so myself and mr cherry plan to have a candlelight meal at home alone, the whole thing champers, choccies roses.
It will be bliss to have peace and quiet as well for once, my youngest son is makeing us a chocolate cake bless him, hunny is cooking the main course and im doing the starter and pudding.
The plan is to be in our pyjamas all comfty to eat then slob and watch films, going out is pricey and to much effort really.
What are you lot doing then, SINGLES do you want to leave anyone a happy valentines here>>>>>>>, married fogies also included leave your loved ones a message here.
All that remains to be said is haove a loving valentines all of you x:razz:

First of all, I hope everyone has a great day. Even if you don't celebrate Valentine's day, take a break and enjoy it.
I'll be working during the day on Valentine's day and then I shall hopefully be chilling out in the evening, perhaps read a book, sit on the forum, play iSketch or a combination of those things.
As my signature suggests, Valentine's day is all about being around loved ones, whether it be a partner, family or friends.

Well seeing as mr. penny is in Afghanistan and Taitorsalad (my son) is away at Uni. I suppose I will be spending Valentines Day/ Night with my good friends on iSketch. I will be bringing Wine and Chocolate to share! See y'all there.
/me hugs y'all
Happy Valentines Day
I'm not doing anything Valentine Day related lol. I'll probably spend the day at home with my son. Although that is pretty good, as I love him more than anyone. :P

Mr Saff is entirely anti-Valentine's Day. Entirely.
So when we got married, I chose 16 Feb as our wedding date so's I could pretend he was celebrating Val-Day ;)
We will be.....uh....trying to get kids into bed.....having a few glasses of wine....and sleeping in the next morning.
:D

I'm working most of Valentine's day but I don't buy into it anyway, it's a commercial device to make people money. I can see how it's an excuse to make time for each other, but I think most couples do that anyway. The person I love knows it every day... they don't need a card or a present for that.

No, you're right, Buffers, I don't
^^
I do!
Presents!!!
We're making the effort - he's worth it. We have a local pizza joint where we're kind of well-known. Very cosy. Afterwards we'll get dessert here - I'm making a heart-shaped mini-cake (God help Mr. Vik - I'll have the poison squad on stand-by).
Oh dear, I now have plans lol. I've been forced into decided to have a meal with someone. It's going to be a complete disaster great!

Nowt special really. Mr TF shows his love for me everyday (as do I)...
I suppose it is a good idea to get singles together (but there is nothing worse than a partner receiving a valentines card and you never sent it  - thankfully, that hasn't happened to me, but it did to a friend of mine - it caused quite a lot of trouble )
I personally believe it is so over-rated now and a bunch of roses that costs £5 any other time of the year, goes up 300%! Who said love was free? lol
My husband and I had our anniversary yesterday and we celebrate V-day with eachother then also. On actualy V-day we plan on taking the kids out to see a movie and take them to dinner. =D

This is still on topic I hope :P
But yeah, as I'm staying round my mates house that night, this guy is going to give me a card and chocolates to leave on her pillow/by her bedside so that when she wakes up on valentines morning she'll see it... AHHH it's so cute ^____^ Especially since she wasn't sure if he liked her back and stuff and yeah. :D Makes me happy that yeah... Hmm.. :D

Yes agreed, valentines is just a money spinning idea for the people who make cards and the florists lol.
I feel sorry for the singles who buy in to it and the couples to, men i think get a raw deal in thinking they have to spend lots so the gf thinks shes special.
I like sending giving mr cherry pressies all year round, we often come home with little things for each other, its just love isnt it.
Anyway all have a grand day, i hope lots of singles find love and happiness and married couples rekindle any lost feelings along the way.

I don't hate the day but I'm not leaping around with joy that it's here either.
I don't agree with those who just dismiss it as a commercial gimmick. I love that the companies and corporations put so much effort into bigging a day up and making an ordinary day something a little different - it adds variety to my life. I love that there's a different atmosphere on that day because every time you go into a shop there's a theme. I love that there's one more festival/event to add to the calendar and celebrate.
I think "it's just a stupid commercial gimmick" can be said about pretty much any festival or event, but I'd rather look on the bright side of things and appreciate what giving a day a special meaning does, than just feel that it's another way that I'm being taken advantage of.
After all, no one's forcing anyone to go buy Godiva and £50 bouquets of roses. You can celebrate the day perfectly romantically without spending tons and hating marketing for it.
I feel :)

I actually have a 21st tomorrow night, so that should be fun :) - but it's completely unrelated to Valentine's Day so I wouldn't consider that a specific celebration of it. I'm really not such a fan of it to be honest....and I agree with other peoples' posts- if you want to express your love- you can/should do so more regularly and consistently xD. Plus unlike Mother's and Father's Day it was originally a Saint's Day....so the original significance of it has kind of changed :S- for better or worse? I also find it pretty ironic/amusing that Friday the 13th is the day before Valentine's Day!
Argh - Storm! I wish I could thank you twice - your post read my mind.
Really, no-one HAS to spend a fortune! We're creative people here - MAKE something for your other-half if you feel you must do anything at all.
Singles - go out, have a drink with your mates, maybe you'll meet someone, maybe not - it doesn't matter! You have your health and your whole future ahead of you. Just... do your own thing. Always.

I've just gone all emotional.
My wife (who's working tonight and won't see me till tomorrow about 4pm) had decided to give me my card early, all home made and stuff with a very personal message, a little bear (apparently I'm Grumpy Bear) and some Green and Black's chocolates.
My car, this morning, decided to not work, at all. This meant I was stuffed for transport to work (an hour late) and all the stuff I had planned to collect this afternoon for her Valentines on Saturday, got ruined, and I was slightly annoyed that all my plans were shafted. Then she goes and does this, and it turned me all soft ...
Don't tell anyone I went gooey. I'm not supposed to have emotions, I'm like Mr Spock.
