Hello there, people of the iSketch forum. I hope some of you here use opera, becuase after the shockwave update today, the iSketch hame won't load anymore.. The page itself loads, but the shockwave loading screen just stops there and sits there untill opera crashes and I have to restart it. anyone else using opera and sharing the same problem? I'd love some help.
And no, changing my browser isn't an option :3 I love opera.

Sorry to hear that. Ever considered having an alternate browser? I keep 3 on my work desktop just in case one app won't load with one i try the next and so on. Avant Browser is a good alternative compared to the heavy duty IE or the sometimes troublesome firefox.

I hope somebody else posts something that willl avoid your resorting to this. Cheers!

In the address bar, type opera:plugins, and look at the info page it gives. Check whether "application/x-shockwave-flash" and "application/x-director" are listed.

If one or both are missing, try unistalling Shockwave and downloading the Full Installer (under Netscape column) on this page (http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/alternates/#sp).

If the game still doesn't load, contacting iSketch feedback (info@isketch.net) with information about the problem is the best bet!

Windows or Mac? If you are using Windows, the above suggestions might help. If you are using Mac, maybe just maybe I can help. If it is Mac, Intel or not?

Thank you all for the help :3 I'm using windows and I manage to fix the problem. Had to manually extract some files from the .exe to the plugins folder in opera.. Thanks for the help again ^_^
It's working slower than before, tho..

Since I have got new desk top, I can't play Isk in IE as it wont let me draw, its like its all shaky and showing up double the cursor. Firefox throws me off and so does Opera ... With a new computer, you'll probably need to make sure you are patched.

I would hope all the Microsoft ones, are automatically installed?

Check out any updates for your Video card. Right Click your desktop, select Properties and then Settings. The Display make and model number should be displayed. You will need to go to the manufacturer website to check for newer drivers. Once you've found the right download, bookmark the drivers page, so you can recheck every so often.

Similarly with the Wacom tablet, check out their website for updates, and save a bookmark for your Tablet. (not got a Tablet, so no idea how often their drivers get updated etc)

Also make sure you have the Full version of Shockwave installed from http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFull&P2_Platform=Win32&P3_Browser_Version=MSIE
You might have to uninstall your current version of Shockwave 1st.

Other than that... anyone else got ideas to fix a 'double cursor'?

Alternatively... the 'shaking' and 'double cursor', could just be due to the amount of incohol algested.

I'm not a computer geek or anything but I think Cunny has vista so if that makes a difference then perhaps someone can insert some fancy clever talk in here. Also, Cunny, didn't you say your laptop/computer was faulty? I had this problem too and mine was an Acer but I don't think it did anything to iSketch, it just has BSOD and lost 3 years of my work and research

Whilst I'm here, I've had problems on my laptop with Shockwave. It just keeps messing up iSketch for me and I find myself uninstalling/reinstalling after about a month each time now. Sometimes ever 3/4 times a day or more :|

I *think* I have 2 versions of shockwave installed on my laptop but I have no idea how. When I uninstall shockwave, iSketch still works up until the log in bit, so I know there's something weird going on there.
I've searched for this 'hiding shockwave' but I've found nothing and even if I completely remove it all from my laptop, including the recycle bin, I still have that same problem leading up to the log in page. What's up with that? Any ideas?

I said something else too but I can't remember what, this is the second time I'm typing this message cos it mysteriously vanished whilst I was looking at the screen

When you installed the Wacom on your new desktop, the "pen flicks" setting is enabled by default. It's kinda like mouse gestures but for pens and tablets. Disable it via your control panel.

Er, not sure if this belongs here but Linux; can linux users play iSketch? Anyone here? If so, what browser? Any problems with shockwave and installing it?

There isn't a Linux-native version of the Shockwave browser plugin, so you can't do it directly. You have to do things like install WINE; software that allows Windows programs to run in Unix-like OSes, then install a Windows version of a browser and go from there.

Oh wow. Doesn't sound too long winded or as complicated as I thought. Thanks for the info :)

Here is a good guide on how to play iSketch under Linux (Ubuntu):

English version is about half-way down the page.
